Wear a good-quality pair of compression socks, stay hydrated and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Wander up and down the aisles of the cabin or perform exercises in your seat.

• Have your ID and boarding pass within easy reach. They'll be the first things you'll be asked to present to security.
