The cottage is in a great spot overlooking the lake- it was clean and well equipped. The twin sliders to the deck make for great views. Great dock and waterfront. We’d definitely stay again - especially if I could bring and launch my small boat.
My wife & I use VRBO rentals on a regular basis. This is on of the few spots where the photos actually represent the property. This place is wonderful...from the beautiful sunrises to the gorgeous sunsets. This cottage is clean, neat and just the right size for two folks. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots & pans. The couches were very comfy & the big screen TV was just right. This is a great spot to relax & enjoy God's creation. The property owner Michael responds quickly to your requests.
The cottage is the perfect little gem. The house is clean and everything needed is provided. All the appliances are brand new. The view to the lake and the areas to sit to soak it all in is breath taking. It's a perfect 5 min ride away for those that want to visit Treehouse Brewery and then have a place to connect with the lake whether kayaking, swimming, or just sitting and listening to nature.
Check in was so easy. The owner is wonderful with timeliness of replying to any questions. A+++++ experience overall.
Thank you so much for having us and we will 100% be back again in the future.

We loved this cottage! It's right on Glen Echo Lake in Charlton, perfect for a romantic getaway. The cottage was spacious and the king sized bed was wonderfully comfortable. The bathroom has two sinks and two shower heads. The furniture was all comfortable and clean. There's a smart TV so you can get all your streaming services and YouTube. The living room couch power reclines and is dangerously comfortable. Everything looked new and modern. The kitchen comes with all the essentials: pots and pans, basic spices and oil. The full sized fridge has water and ice. There's a Keurig k-cup coffee machine with a milk frother. But if you'd prefer coffee out, there's Sturbridge Coffee Roasters less than two miles away. Also around the immediate area are all your essentials: convenience stores, McDonald's, liquor stores, Dunkin, dispensary etc. Also just a few minutes away is Capen Hill Nature Sanctuary and Treehouse Brewery. There's several restaurants and take out places nearby (we liked George's Pizza!) It's the perfect location if you like nature walks, looking out over the lake, and a quiet retreat. Overall, we loved staying here and would come again!
Loved our stay here in Charlton! We traveled here from Tacoma Washington to visit family and friends. Our host Michael was stellar in his communication and responded quickly to all of our requests/questions. The property is as advertised with no surprises. Our space was clean and tidy with very comfy furniture. We enjoyed having access to a full kitchen and laundry to really settle in during our time there. Plenty of items to prepare whatever you like in the kitchen. We were blessed with nice weather to be able to enjoy the deck looking over the lake, Sunshine, coffee, a good book, and crisp New England Fall air. Charlton is a very small town, like I mentioned, "hideaway"... But there is easy access to highways to get where you need to go. We traveled out A LOT across MA during our trip and had no issues leaving from or getting back to Charlton. There is a stellar Italian bakery, Francesco's, just a 5 min drive away. And just a block from there is Southbridge Coffee Roasters for locally roasted coffee, (Pro tip... Ask the owner Elvis about meeting Gordon Ramsey!) And if beer is your thing, it doesn't get better than Treehouse, less than 10 mins from the VRBO. We would definitely recommend this spot to others and will almost certainly land here again next time we get out to Massachusetts. You're in for a nice stay if you book here!
Beware!!!! We had booked this property nine months ago and paid for it. Fully expected to enjoy our stay there, however we found out that the host had doubled booked the location and we did not have it. This left us scrambling to find accommodation at the Last minute. We disappointed.
If I had the ability to score zero stars, I would do so. The house was dirty and in poor repair. Rooms were not vacuumed, and the walls were dirty. There were no lights in the master bedroom save for a small bedside spotlight. Entire faucets fixtures were loose, doorknobs that fall off when you turn them. One of the sliding doors would not lock. The house was not at all "guest ready." Everything was shabby and unkempt. The property itself is very nice but it's unfortunate that the host doesn't take advantage of its potential. Communications with the host were extremely poor resulting in frustration and involvement of Vrbo supervisors. I strongly suggest future guests look elsewhere.

Not a good experience - host/owner unresponsive
1. Trash barrel is full outside and we do not know when it will be emptied.
2. Cleanliness both inside and outside is unacceptable - I have many pictures
- inside , floors are dirty everywhere and doesn’t appear swept or vacuumed with small particles throughout.
Appliances are dirty on the outside, the refrigerator REPLACE FILTER light is on - unfiltered water?
TV table is not clean something sticky on top
All glass windows dirty , the worst are the glass sliding doors going out to the deck. Inside and outside of the windows
Ceiling fans are dirty, bedroom fan is the worst.
All mirrors in the house are dirty and do not appear they were washed.
Center dish in bathroom that holds the soap dispensers are dirty and has its own spider web.
A/C intake vent in the ceiling is very dirty, does that mean we are breathing unsafe air?
Large glass vase in the bedroom has half of its base broken off.
Outside- complete outside areas are dirty and very unkept.
Walkway from the deck to the lake is very nasty, dirty, and unkept.
Walkway and outside area from the street dirty, unkept and green mold all over.
Deck area outside of the living room is nasty dirty, dirt and green mold all over.
Deck area with the grill by the lake is dirty and unkept - we will
