"Our stay was spoilt by the unpleasant verbal and aggressive attitude of our neighbours. Because we had it transpired, parked in their designated parking bay on our first day. We did receive the instructions for the correct parking space for our property until the following day. I would suggest the correct bay is marked clearly with the house number, so future guests don’t experience the same rudeness and verbal abuse we did."

"This was a lovely bolt hole in the country and an ideal location for visiting wonderful local landmarks. The cottage was well equipped and nicely presented with a welcoming box of biscuits on arrival. Very quiet with tranquil views. The owners were over the driveway and extremely friendly. Salisbury, Glastonbury, Sherborne and the like were within easy reach as was Poole on the coast. An ideal spot and perfect for that relaxing getaway."

"This beautiful pub on the outside could be great and has bags of potential but the accommodation feels currently run down. The bedrooms, bathrooms, corridor need updated. The new landlord and new barman were friendly enough but the bar and restaurant had limited stock which meant we gave up on dinner and went to town. The continental breakfast consisted of cereals and toast (no plate). So our experience was overall disappointing. "

"Decent budget rooms in a good location with parking behind and a public carpark opposite. The room lacked a hairdryer and towel rails. The exterior door keys we were given did not work which almost resulted in us being locked out overnight despite returning to the pub before 11pm. Luckily after being flipped the bird by the bar staff initially through the window as we frantically tried to get their attention to our plight they did come over to open the exterior door to let us in."

"Really dated and tierd but staff making best of what they have. We visited in a heatwave so perhaps not a true reflection but was stifling. No air con. A small broken (span but didnt move side to side)fan provided that pushed the warm air around and the next morning fans had been put in the corridor. Reception staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast staff a bit abrupt but again perhaps the heat! We booked for a short stay and the surrounding countryside and shaftesbury Town are lovely. The hotel is situated on the main road although still quiet and lovely garden etc. Gpod location for the town etc Unfortunately the pool area is not nice. Changing rooms really dirty and the pool water really cloudy and murky- the main reason we chose the hotel was for the pool. All in all was fine for an overnight stay and room was clean. Just a bit old fashioned and dated for us and the pool area need some attention"

"This is my go to place when I’m in the area with work. It’s more homely than national brands, and the staff make the place! The food is good and the great beer on tap, as well as a selection of other tasty drinks. They don’t have air-con and the floorboards can squeak, the parking can be a challenge, especially when busy. Depending on what room you could hear the noise of other guests or the workings of the hotel, but they are clean. Breakfast is late for lots of places as it starts at 7.30, which is fine if you’re local and don’t have to be in early. The breakfast menu items have changed recently & aren’t reflected on the paper version, like mini croissants and pastries. In my opinion this detracts slightly and can make it a challenge for those in a rush."
