Great Vacation stay
Enjoyed our stay at the cottage! Had all the amenities one would need. Back deck was perfect for sunsets, and outdoor dining. Close proximity to beaches and of course fishing in the breachway and walks. Would look to rebook in the future.
This cottage was exactly what it was advertised! It was quaint, cozy and absolutely lovely! The location was perfect for a quiet and peaceful stay! We met the owners who were very nice and very responsive my questions. This cottage is a gem!

Cute Cottage
We enjoyed our stay. Had everything we needed. Nice location. Very close to a few different beaches and fun places to explore. The outdoor shower was a hit with my teenage grandkids! Thank you to the owners for the nice welcoming card. We very much appreciated.
This property is exactly as described in the listing. There is no ocean beach access, but it’s close enough to hear the surf. The Quonnie breachway, dock, and Quonnie pond are within easy walking distance. The kitchen is well-equipped and the deck out back was delightful for a cookout.
The home is very neat and clean, a typical Rhode Island beach house. The owners were kind enough to return to us a small item that we left behind!
We highly recommend this listing. It was perfect for us.

Uncomfortable and unkempt
The location of this property is great, I'll give it that. However i was fooled by some of the newer 5 star reviews. My experience was much more like the old reviews.
We stay in cottages quite a bit. I know they don't offer all the comforts of home and can be dusty. This was downright neglected.
-half of the windows didn't open. Since the small free standing AC wasnt working great it made it hard to get any circulating air.
-dust and grime on many surfaces...the blinds, the fans, trash can, coffee pot, grill filled with water and grease.
-the bathroom was gross. It smelled from the septic and is constantly damp. We kept the door closed and tried not to use it. The septic ran all night in the hallway closet and kept us up.
-the furniture is hard and uncomfortable. Sitting in a wooden chair all weekend isnt relaxing.
I could go on...we ultimately left a day early as my throat was sore and my asthmatic husband needed to use his nebulizer.
So disappointed.
Fantastic time in our favorite place. Was not sure about lack of private beach access but Blue Shutters is super close and convenient. Owners could not have made the arrival process more hospitable and friendly and the house is clean and comfortable. Highly recommend as an affordable option in West Beach.

Perfect Quonnie Getaway
My husband and I have been going to Quonnie for many years. The cottage we rented sold and this was a perfect replacement. Fresh water was provided for drinking and cooking. Jim was very responsive to any questions I had. We will definitely be returning next year!
This cottage was perfect for two friends in need of a little getaway! It was a peaceful spot, but still close to everything. The bedrooms were comfortable and the house had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again!

A nice summer cottage with a large deck.
We enjoyed our stay at this Quaint Cottage which is close to beaches and only a 5 minute walk to the Quonochontaugh Pond and breachway. Nice calm waters for young children.
The inside of the cottage was freshly painted, with a new kitchen that had everything we needed. New floors were installed in the living area and sunroom! The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of clean towells. However the living room and sunroom had new wooden furniture that was hard and uncomfortable to sit on. Other than that the cottage living area is very spacious. Loved the big deck too! We met the owners and they were very nice and made sure we were well taken care of. A nice cottage for familes to rent.
Interior pictures of furnishings and description of property being walkable to the beach are very misleading. We founnd different fiurniture that were hard and uncomfortable. Beach not accessible by walking, have to drive for about 10 minutes, no beach parking pass. Property not maintained well, and the cottage was not vrry clean when we checked in.

Exceeded expectations
The cottage was on a quiet street that was situated steps from the breach way and minutes to the salt pond. Great for the kids to fish and explore. The sunsets were incredible.
The cottage boasted many personalized touches. Unexpected kitchen essentials were available. Clean and bright. Rooms were spaced without feeling crowded. Deck was large and the outdoor shower was private with hot water. Able to hear the sound of the water while sleeping with windows open.
Owners are responsive and professional. Welcoming from our arrival and helpful when we left a cell phone behind.
Super close to East Beach and Blue Shutters.
Would definitely return. Vacation went as planned.

Responsive host but house needs attention
First I’ll say that we have stayed in several places in Rhode Island and unfortunately our experience at this house wasn’t as positive as we had hoped. On the positive side, James was responsive and willing to come check on issues when we reached out. They left us a nice card to cover a day’s parking at a local beach. The back deck is great; we enjoyed grilling and dinner at the patio table. However, we were without hot water for two to three days. A few notes for future guests:The home is located in a low-lying part of the marina. This can cause some unpleasant odors in the area (not the fault of the home, but worth noting). The owner provided plenty of bottled water because the water from the faucets runs brown-yellow. We were told that it’s a regional issue and that the water is filtered, but it was still off-putting. The filtration system itself is super loud, kicking on whenever water is used and randomly — including at night.Cooling is a challenge. The single AC unit isn’t strong enough to cool the main living area or the back bedrooms with sub-80-degree weather, and with several windows painted shut, it was difficult to get good airflow.Cleanliness needs to be improved. We noticed spider webs, dust, and had to rewash dishes and utensils before using them. Beside the fridge and under the beds haven’t been cleaned in some time. The vacuum provided didn’t work, which made upkeep during our stay difficult.Lastly, a personal note we wish there were more comfortable seats for the five people the house accommodates. While there were some positives — mainly James’ responsiveness — overall, the home needs maintenance and cleaning to make it more comfortable for guests.
Great location we were able to walk kayaks to the water, large porch and decent sized yard we were also staying during a hot week and the house stayed cool. Would rent again!
Cottage was exactly as listed. Very cute and had everything we needed for our stay.
We love this area, we rent Quonnie cottages every year but never in May. It was great to have indoor shower and a little heat to take the chill off the cool May nights. Love that there is also outdoor shower but it was a bit to cold for that this trip. Kitchen was equipped with all basics, even a spice cabinet. We did cook a few meals and everything was in working order. Beds were comfortable. It’s great they have a water system for we are aware of the hard water issues at the beach, but it is rather noisy that one night it runs for like 1 1/2. Hours in the middle of the night- but can’t be helped I guess.
There were fresh towels left out as well. We did walk to the beach through path we know of , but in summer months you would need a beach pass to do so- would be great to have beach pass if allowed by the association. We usually rent directly on beach but could not get in this year for our early vacation. We will be back in the fall. Over all it was a great cottage, nice back yard and deck with ocean breeze to relax on.
I was very impressed with this rental. The reviews with snags and complaints didn’t match up to the pleasant reality of this house. Sure, the water from the tap is well water. It’s filled with minerals and looks like a hot spring gold color. But the fresh water is provided by a Water cooler (with cold and hot settings). The size of the house is very spacious for a one level. The kitchen has all appliances and utensils. There is a yard with a nice hammock. We appreciated the outdoor shower with a privacy wall- for after the beach. The grass lawn is well maintained and wraps around the house. There are plenty of towels in hand. The beds are not luxury mattresses but I wasn’t uncomfortable and I weight 270. If you have children, this is really ideal because you don’t have to worry about them running into the ocean while you are in the shower. The beaches are all very close. The beach at the boat ramp is 5 minutes walk (and not giant) but it is the safest for children and the shallowest, calmest water. It reminds me of a smooth Cape Cod bay beach. It works well for a family that doesn’t require their beach house to touch the waves but the Atlantic is 50 yards away and you can hear some monster waves crashing just on the other side of the breachway. This is a place to enjoy with people that don’t need tons of details and bells and whistles to feel happy.

Close to beach but outdated
The area was nice but the water was brown, the furnishings and carpets were dirty, there were no screens on the doors and 1 window, and some of the windows would not open. The condition of the water made it hard to clean and cook. Needs a serious update.
We enjoyed our vacation at this property. We brought our kayaks and used them every day, the boat ramp was easy access . Our grandchildren and my 93 year old mother enjoyed being by the breach way. The cottage was stocked with thing that I would usually have to remember to bring from home The owner was quick to respond to texts, Enjoyed our stay!

Great location
The location of this house was perfect walk to beach and pond. However I wouldn’t rent again as this house is in need of a serious deep cleaning. There’s a film on almost everything and I was a little hesitant to even use the pots and pans. Upon leaving when looking to make sure we had everything I discovered mounds of dust and garbage under dressers and beds that have obviously been there awhile. The beds are very uncomfortable and if it rains the front door leaks. Overall the house was okay again greatest thing is location but it’s in need of a good deep cleaning and updating (including new shower head inside as it’s pretty well clogged and has almost no pressure) outdoor shower was fantastic!!!

Great location
We’ve been going to this area for many years and this house had my favorite location. It’s a simple house with a good sized deck and a view of Quonnie Pond. Access to the beach and the pond is about the same short distance. You can hear the waves from the house. A water cooler is provided too. We brought kayaks and the trip would not have been the same without them. The owner Jim, is a nice guy and took care of a minor issue right away. Look forward to staying there again.
