Located in the family friendly area known as the South Hills. Walking distance to local restaurants and coffee. Just over a mile from downtown Charleston, WV. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home decorated with modern and classic pieces is sure to be a comfortable home for both families and business travelers.

The host was very informative and accommodating, considering the circumstances, winter storm of 2026. As soon as we entered, we were all pleasantly surprised by how charming, welcoming, and warm the home, decor, amenities made us all feel. Although we wished we had more time to explore the quaint area near the home, it offered many interesting restaurants, boutiques, stores to explore. If the opportunity presents itself, we would definitely return to the South Hills Charmer.

I can’t say enough good things about this home. Meticulously restored and maintained. Furnishings were lovely. Well supplied with paper products, coffee/tea, full kitchen etc. communication was excellent including recommended dining places in walking distance and close to downtown Charleston. Should we head in this direction again, I would definitely book here!!

Perfect Spot

We came in for my daughters White Coat Ceremony at the PA college. We stayed at the home with my parents. The home is beautiful, in a great, safe neighborhood, and well stocked with everything you need. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Absolutely perfect and oh so charming!

We had an amazing stay in the south hills charmer, we stayed 3 nights and it was as comfortable as it was charming! The cozy living room was perfect for family time and great memories. The area of town was great, a quick to walk to pizza, gelato and coffee. We also loved the museum and the capitol market.

A lovely house that worked out perfectly!

We had a wonderful stay here. The house is nicely laid out with good flow between all the spaces. The kitchen worked out really well and was impressively fitted out. We will definitely be coming back here when we need to stay in the area again.

We visit Charleston frequently and usually book a hotel. After initial hesitation (negative reviews of B&B experience) we decided to take a chance on a rental. We had a wonderful time at the South Hills Charmer! It was clean, comfortable and convenient to everything we needed! There was plenty of room and the kitchen was fantastic - they thought of everything! Plenty of towels, toilet paper etc. We would definitely stay here again.

Awesome cozy rental

This is a very nice property in a safe, quiet part of town. Easy access to downtown Charlestoin and very close to south hills bars, restaurants and shopping. Cute cozy house that is well-appointed and was a fun place to hang out with family. I will stay again next time I visit Charleston. Highly recommend!

Beautiful home in a nice neighborhood

This was a beautiful home in a nice neighborhood and was a short walk from several shops & restaurants. The interior of the home was very wellcared for & the kitchen had all of the utensils we wanted along with most of the basic spices we could use. We will definitely stay in this home again if we visit the area.

Better than Expected

We really enjoyed our stay on Hickory Rd! The beds were very comfortable and the home was absolutely charming. We are hoping to return in the fall and would love to stay here again. The little town area was lovely; don’t miss Lola’s amazing pizza (and more), the Gelato/Coffee Cafe, the children’s clothing and (Amazing) toy store…, the bakery and sandwich/coffee shop. All just a couple blocks away!! Who knew Charleston would be so much fun?

Great rental in Charleston

This property is a great place to stay if you are visiting the Charleston area. It is very close to the freeways and downtown. It is located in a cute neighborhood with numerous dining, bar, and grocery options within a short walk. The property is appointed with very good utensils for cooking and nice flatware and appliances including washer and dryer. The living room and dining room have a relaxed cabin-like feel with nice wood floors and wall paneling. If anything the pictures don't do it justice. The upstairs bedroom is very nice and has abundant natural light. This was a very comfortable property for four adults. I would definitely rent here again.

Beautiful WV home in a great location and quiet, safe neighborhood.

We traveled from Phoenix to Charleston to see our son graduate college. We initially booked this VRBO for its close proximity to the university and also downtown area. I have to say we absolutely LOVED IT! The house was easy to find and the check-in instructions were clear. The house itself was fantastic (I mean I could live there lol!), it was a charming WV style 3 bedroom, with all the amenities you could possibly need. Kitchen had everything you needed to cook and a BIG thank you to the owners for having the keurig coffee pod station full, as we had many early mornings. The beds were SO comfortable, and we liked the master bedroom being off by itself on the second floor with the other 2 bedrooms downstairs. The location was great, and walking distance to a few little restaurants and shops. We walked the carriage trail pretty much every day, which is a nice hike close by that has a lot of history attached to it. Coming from Arizona that was unique and we enjoyed it immensely. All in all a great vacation/ graduation and VRBO experience.

Delightful get-away in Charleston, WV

What a delightful little house with character! Solid plank hardwood floors buffed to a dazzling sheen, comfy furnishings, formal dining room. Three bedrooms offered a welcome variety mattress firmness, allowing guests with back problems the opportunity to chose a mattress that was just right. Bathrooms were immaculate. It was summer so we had no need of a roaring fire, but the two wood-burning fireplaces would be really welcome in winter. As a general comment, this was hands-down THE BEST, most well-stocked house in which we have ever stayed. BEST-QUALITY EVERYTHING: sheets, plush towels, Fiesta dishware, cutlery, baking tools, appliances (there were two different kinds of coffee-makers, including a Keurig, top-of-the-line blenders, food-processors), and pots and pans. The washer and dryer were a great convenience, especially since soap, dryer sheets and stain remover sprays were all provided. The neighborhood is quiet, with neat and well-maintained bungalows up and down the street. Located just 5 miles from downtown restaurants and attractions, it was very well-situated. The one negative was the television. No cable is provided. There were only channels showing 1960 tv shows. The assumption is that renters will have their own streaming subscriptions and use their streaming access to do tv viewing. Since we don't subscribe to any streaming services, we were totally out of luck. Fortunately, we came for the attractions and events, and not tv. Overall, a great stay!!
