For the money difference, I would choose the Ayres Hotel Orange right next door. We’ve always had a great experience at Ayres properties with a comfortable sleep and consistently high standards, so I assumed this hotel, being “by Ayres,” would offer the same experience at a slightly lower cost. While our room was clean and quiet and the staff was friendly and attentive, the overall experience fell a bit short of our expectations. The lobby felt uninviting, and the elevators were dated and occasionally creaky. Breakfast was decent, but the setup made things feel awkward. The pool was clean, and the property in general was well maintained. One thing to note is parking costs $15 per night and is managed via a mobile app. I’m not a fan of downloading unfamiliar apps just to park, so that was a downside for me. I struggled to sleep, the pillows were too soft for my liking, and the AC unit was a bit too loud, which made it hard to get a good night’s rest. This isn’t exactly a bad review, more of a mismatch in expectations. Next time, we’ll stick with the Ayres next door.
