Very nice place for big group

We were a group of 18 people (friends) and we enjoyed the place. The House is very big (lot of room), every room has its own bathroom. Big garden with table and BBQ. Including a Sousa, a pool, a snooker, table football ... Very quiet surrounding in the nature. Host super friendly and speaking English.

10 days in Vosges heaven

We booked to stay a week here in June 2015, as a couple with 5-month baby. (Yep, it does sleep 10!) As it was our first family holiday, I was frankly dubious about how it could possibly be relaxing, but hosts Marie and Phil made sure I was wrong. It was amazing! So much so that we extended our stay and has friends come over for the second weekend (to help fill the place!) - also with 5-month baby. We arrived in our usual chaotic style, tired from the long drive and wondering whether there might be a supermarche open at this late hour, or whether we'd have to eat pasta+crisps for dinner. Marie got wind of this and whipped up a basket of vegetables, pasta sauce, strawberries and other goodies. Delicious! On the second night, we were treated to champagne and nibbles at sunset with the other guests, and Marie even offered to babysit for us one night so that we could go out a deux! We made good use of the lovely pool - warm enough for babies, cool enough for swimming - where even beach towels were provided. It was great to have this straight off the hallway with no need to go outside. The bedrooms were all immaculate and the decor in the whole place is very tasteful. Not only this, but the place has been done up with guests in mind - all the hooks, blinds, crockery etc that you could possibly want in a holiday let (in stark contrast to some places we've stayed in in France!). We were provided with a travel cot, high chair, baby bath & seat and there were various books and games in the communal area, which entertained both babies and adults. There is a large BBQ on the decking, which could feed an army. When we realised we had no charcoal, Phil and Marie said "no problem" and wheeled round a whole new gas BBQ for us to use instead! Another big hit for us was the baby swing, which our little girl will miss when she gets home. The whole place is very accessible for buggy/kids as its been designed with wheelchair access in mind. Champdray itself is a small hamlet and on first glance, we assumed that the only amenity was the small (slightly dingy) epicerie/bar... But one evening, as we wandered past a woman chatting in her front yard, we boldly asked "est-ce q'il y a in bar pres d'ici?" Upon which she showed us into her front room and sat us down in a 19th Century kitchen filled with Belgian beers and spirits. A secret bar! If you can't find it the way we did, I'm sure Marie and Phil will give you a clue...

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt. Das Haus von Marie und Phil bietet alles für eine so grosse Gruppe und ist sehr schön eingerichtet. Wir konnten alle zusammen essen und spielen. Es gab die Möglichkeit Croissant und Brot zu bestellen, was einfach herrlich war. Vielen Dank für eure Gastfreundschaft!

Un beau séjour Familial entre la beauté de la nature Vosgienne et le confort du Gite

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans ce joli gîte rustique mais très bien équipé et confortable. Idéalement situé à quelques km de Gerarmer Nancy ou encore Colmar nous avons pu visiter en journée et revenir prendre du bon temps au gîte en fin de journée. Piscine, SPA, hammam ou encore de longues soirée en terrasse dans le très grand Jardin. Je ne peux que recommander ce gîte. Merci aux propriétaires Marie et Phil pour leur accueil bienveillant.

Perfect for a tranquil family getaway

Our group of 16 family members, ranging in age from 4 to grandparent age, was easily accommodated in Marie and Phil's gîtes. We appreciated the fact that each room had its own ensuite (with hand soap and hairdryer). The kitchen of the main gîte was just big enough for us all to eat at the same table when it rained. When the sun came out, we were able to eat just outside the main kitchen. Rooms were comfortable enough and the kids found plenty of entertainment with the games room (pool table, giant jenga and especially baby football, plus ping pong rackets for the table outside), garden swings and football. The kids also enjoyed the indoor swimming pool (pool towels were provided), which is thankfully heated as it was quite cool when we were there. We also used the small steam room and sauna. Marie and Phil, who live just on the other side of the courtyard, were very welcoming, accommodating and helpful with advice. Marie speaks French and English fluently. We were touched by the welcome goodies, such as a homemade cake, fresh eggs and crémant, that were awaiting us. There is a pond on the other side of the road (hence the name of the gîtes) and plenty of space in the garden behind which meant it was very tranquil and we didn't feel we were crowding the other neighbours. We had a delicious paella on the first night (arranged by Marie) and very much enjoyed the four meals which we asked Marie to cater. She was willing to accommodate the two vegetarians in the group. The location is a 15-minute drive (including some windy roads and some faster ones) to the nearest main town - Gérardmer. We visited Colmar, Haut-Koenigsbourg castle, WWI trenches (La Ligne), a sweetmakers, booked pony riding for the smaller kids and outside adventure activities for the bigger kids, so there was plenty to do in the area even in cool, rainy weather. All in all, the property met our needs and allowed us to have a relaxing and fun family getaway.

Perfect getaway house for our large group

Phil and Marie have created a luxury retreat in this Vosges farmhouse. It was absolutely perfect for our large group of 6 adults and 11 children—affording us just enough space to allow for privacy but encouraging lots of fun activities together. Pool, game room, soccer in the fields, raclette dinners, walks down the country roads, day trips to Gérardmer and Alsace. We all highly recommend this house to everyone! Phil and Marié are really lovely (and arranged for our daily bread/croissant deliveries from the local baker!). Couldn’t really have been better!

Nous étions 4 couples et 3 enfants de bas âge dans le gîte le forestier. Petit séjour très apprécié par tout le monde. Chaleureux, décoré avec goût, confortable et adapté aux enfants (chaises hautes, lits parapluie, barrière de sécurité aux escaliers...). Espace aquatique très bien. Seul petit bémol la réception TV et Wi-Fi. A cause de circonstances particulières, la propriétaire n'était pas présente mais a donné le relais à un couple d'amis très sympa. Par mail et téléphone elle était à l'écoute, très agréable et attentive au bon déroulement du séjour. Petit village joli avec épicerie d'antan à voir ! Bien situé. Idéal en toute saison.

Great Gites in the heart of the Vosges

A group of 12 or so friends have been taking cycling holidays in France for the past few years, and this is the very best self catering accommodation at which we have stayed. The old buildings have been converted and restored to a very high standard, and were ideal for our needs. Although being three separate (but connected) gites, we could all gather in the well equipped kitchen and lounge of the largest gite, and enjoy barbecues outside with a lovely rural view. The owners live on site, were extremely helpful and friendly, and also provided high quality food when we did not fancy cooking for ourselves. Highly recommended for groups such as ours, cycling or walking, or for large families.

Merveilleux séjour!!!!

Marie et Phil ont accueilli toute notre famille pour célébrer le baptême de notre petit-fils : ils ont abrité quatre générations dans ces superbes gites : propres, confortables, lumineux!!!! La logistique était bien rôdée : barnum chauffé, grand feu au fond du jardin pour griller le cochon et cuisines toutes équipées pour la préparation des buffets. Nous avons pu organiser cet évènement en toute convivialité. Merveilleux séjour!!!!!! Merci Marie et Phil!!!!

QUE DU BONHEUR!!!!!

Si vous recherchez un endroit pour vous détendre et tout oublier avec toutes les prestations sur place, choisissez ce gîte. Nous sommes venus pour un anniversaire entre potes et nous n'avons pas eu besoin de bouger... terrain immense au milieu des champs avec terrain de pétanque, piscine, hammam, barbec, bref le bonheur!!!!! Les propriétaires sont voisins mais très discrets et surtout très serviables et disponibles si besoin.

De 3 à 85 ans, chacun y trouve son compte. Beaucoup d'espace à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur. De belles chambres chacune avec sa salle de bain. Pour les loisirs: la piscine très appréciée, la salle de jeux avec billard, baby-foot..., le grand jardin et son terrain de pétanque. Et aussi une belle région pour les balades à vélo ou à pied (lac de Gérardmer, promenade des cascades de Tendon). Tout cela avec un accueil très sympathique et la disponibilité des propriétaires. Bof, vraiment déçu..

Très déçu de ce gite, la propriétaire rentre dedans quand on est absent.. Chalet isolé, loin de tout, le téléphone ne passe pas, la télé n'a pas de chaîne et la wifi n'en parlons pas... Les ustensiles (casseroles, assiettes,verres, appareil à raclette et fondue..) ne sont pas prévu pour le nombre de couchages et en plus de cela ils sont très usés voir à jeter. Les finitions et le ménage sont bâclés, cela ne fait pas propre. Attention à la taxe de séjour très élevé !!! Ne nous reviendrons pas...
