Location, very quite but not far from Chama and the train. About 10 to 15 min. Would have enjoyed the decks if we'd have visitors in warmer weather, little to cool in the mornings to set out.
Beautiful cabin with big open space that includes kitchen, living room, and dining room. Made it easy for all of us to hangout and visit. Views from front deck are gorgeous. Back deck is comfortable too and has horseshoes nearby. Cabin was clean and well stocked. Cooked all our dinners there and everything we needed was provided. Check in and check out were easy. Communications with owner very efficient. Would definitely stay here again!
We have a place just up the road so having this super cute rental nearby really helped to bring all of our big kids together for a weekend!! The grands stayed with us and that was also a treat for their parents :)
The cabin views were stunning, got to see Turkeys, deer and prairie dogs. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Kitchen was fully equipped and was fortunate to make a couple meals there. We enjoyed our time there.
We really like staying in this cabin. This was our second time booking this cabin and it was just as good as the first time. It works great for our elk hunting trips to add a little luxury to the DIY hunt.
Beautiful quiet property that was very clean. Gayle was quick to respond with all questions. We saw a lot of wildlife and the sunsets and sunrises are spectacular.
This is our second stay and wont be our last! Spacious, clean, easy to get to. Beds comfy. Kitchen fully equipped. We are water snobs so we brought our own water. Washer and dryer if you want to limit packing. Great stay!
It was a beautiful location with lots of space. Everything was as listed on the site. Nice and clean. It was a great home base to sleep, shower, and nap at as we ventured out in the Chama area.
We were looking for a place to get away and relax in cooler weather. This was perfect for a family of 8. Plenty of room! Clean! Fantastic views! Wildlife! Quiet! Perfect cool temps in the 70's during the day! Communicating with our host was easy. We may make this an annual get away!
Nice dog-friendly property with large gathering living/dining room
We like this property and have stayed twice. The price is reasonable, it's dog friendly, check-out is reasonable, has a nice large living dining room for a small gathering. They provide lots of spices, flour, sugar, basic in the fridge, which is nice. The few things that could be improved -- the towels are a bit low quality. The queen bed in the first bedroom off the dining room is very noisy and squeaky so that when one person tries to get out of bed it wakes the other person. The dinnerware and silverware is low quality compared to other rentals we've stayed in. We left seven martini glasses to donate just for fun.
Contact with the host was easy, clear, and direct, and the property is right off the highway but feels like the middle of the country. The cabin was cute, comfy well-heated at need and nicely arranged, with a big front porch for a nice view across the valley as well as a nice sized back porch. Beds and seating were good, everything nice and clean, though starting to get worn. The only real downside is the water- it splutters and spurts and is white. You can take showers and do dishes but should bring your own drinking water. The shared bathroom shower light was out (BTW, we loved having the heat fan in there!), as well as some nightlights, but there is wonderful natural light during the day from the beautiful picture windows.
This cabin is a great place to stay. Outside of Chama but close enough for easy trips into town. It is spacious and sunny. The view from the front deck is fantastic, never got tired of looking at it.
We had a great stay: good accommodations, excellent views, quiet and peaceful, surrounded by plenty of flora and fauna, and well stocked with kitchen and bathroom amenities. Conveniently located close to Chama, state parks, and a national forest.
The cabin is spacious and well-equipped. We really enjoyed our stay. Don't try to google the address or you'll end up in the Brazos development to the South. I would suggest adding to the property directions to turn off Hwy 64 at County road 341.
