Our room was opposite the lift and having arrived late, we were then woken very early (6.10am) by the ding dong sound of the lift as well as the sounds of people talking. The sound insulation along the corridors is awful. The staff kindly moved us to a different room, which helped with the lift sound but not the talking of other residents which started at 7.30am on a Sunday. Due to all the tiled floors sound seemed to reverberate around the hotel. The hotel seems to be going under renovation so I am hoping they will sort out the sound insulation.

The view out the front window of the hotel is beautiful. The food was ok.. not amazing. I ordered the risotto and it was terrible. We ended up walking to a nearby restaurant for drinks and their restaurant was booked and had more options. Jay the manager was super friendly and the room was comfortable and the bathrooms newly renovated and clean.

"Old elegant hotel. Yes a bit worn in places but spotlessly clean. Food fantastic. Views and grounds are spectacular. Very dog friendly. Rooms spacious and warm Pool good. No spa. "Hotel very run down, maintenance non existent. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling above bed. Dust everywhere, unable to see out of windows so dirty. Crack in bathroom sink, bath stained and dirty. One bed was stained terrible down the side. On the up breakfast was lovely but tables very sticky so crockery ..."
