One of the most amazing hotels - unique and beautiful. The staff go beyond to make your stay pleasant, the rooms are incredible. Being able to sleep at the foot of a vulcano in the midst of an animal sanctuary is a dream. Only down side is the a la carte breakfast which considering it was more than $65 for three could have been improved.

With only 3 cabins set in beautiful trees overlooking Quesada and the Palma Valley, this place is magical. The hosts Luis and Marjorie run the fabulous La Hortensia restaurant with organically grown food from the farm. Wanted to leave no review so that we could keep this place a secret!

Once you've marvelled at your surroundings, your accommodation and the facilities, thinking that you must be dreaming, the staff and management just embrace you and you are part of the family. I travelled on my own but it was the same for couples too. Location was perfect for spotting birds and doing short (10-30 minutes) drives to other good birding locations. We booked the room with balcony. The room was clean and the bed was good. Patrica is the lady that manages everything. She also cooked great meals for us. So please order the lunch and dinner also there. We are very happy and enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommended!

Lovely boutique-style built run hotel. Everything is exactly as described and pictured. We only stayed a night to break a long journey prior to flying out of SJO the following afternoon, but there's plenty to do in the area and it would make a great base if staying a little longer. Very comfortable beds, it was one of our best nights sleep of our trip! We had dinner in Alajuela, about 10 mins drive away with loads of choice, and went back to the town to kill a couple of hours the next day...

This stay was absolutely out of this world. Robert, the owner and designer of the place, is an excellent host, he left us a hand-written welcome note and some goodies. Sleeping next to the river and waking up to nature sounds feels like a movie. The house is well equipped with anything you might need. The design and coziness of the place is undeniable. We loved our stay at Lomas del Volcán and can't recommend it highly enough. One of the best hotels we've stayed at. We received an extremely friendly welcome and throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Breakfast was amazing, with so many exciting options. The bar offered a great menu (we didn't try the restaurant) and the swim-up bar was a real highlight, especially as it was in a heated pool. So cool, with great cocktails and smoothies. We stayed at Arenal Manoa Resort & Hot Springs in a Chato Suite and overall had a wonderful experience. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery with views of Arenal volcano (when the clouds clear). The resort feels peaceful and spacious, which adds to its relaxed atmosphere, and it’s only a 5-minute Uber ride into town, which was inexpensive, safe, and reliable. Stayed here after an adventure portion of our trip and found it to be a great relaxation spot. Sprawling pool with amazing views of the valley and our room had a good-sized patio to unwind at. The rooms (at least the one we stayed in) are all offshoots from a gorgeous atrium-like structure with a fountain and a fireplace for cooler months.

A fantastic location just outside San Jose, which made for a superb location first few days in Costa Rico. Close to Poas volcanoe La Paz waterfalls and the fantastic Cinchona waterfall trails. Staff absolutely first class; warm welcome and extremely helpful. One bag failed to arrive with oyr party - staff so helpful to ensure airline delivered to chalets within 36 hours.
