(357 reviews) The grounds and the setting are extremely well thought out and welcoming. I knew to expect issues, as when I called to confirm our massages, I was advised they were never booked into the system and there was no appointments left that day. No apologies - that's just the way things are. We arrived early and were told we needed to wait until 3pm to checkin- no issues - but it was obvious we were seniors. We were then told, our room was on the 3rd floor and we needed to walk and carry our luggage there. Why - there were vacant rooms on the other side of the hotel where the elevator was working. I found the check-in person would not reason with me - ie your room is over there. It's too bad, this person was on the front desk and left this impression. (153 reviews) Truly like having an apartment in the city. We got tired long ago of going out to eat every afternoon and night. Here we prepped lunches and cooked dinners on most nights (we stayed for a week.) There was also a washer for our clothes (no dryer, but a drying rack and plenty of living-room space worked well). The only downside is that Oslo has no sound ordinances, and people rev no-muffler motorcycles throughout the night until 4am in the summer that would get them arrested in any other sane city.
