Welcome to Crosswinds Cottage, our little slice of Cedar Key where island time slows down, sunsets linger a little longer, and some of the best moments happen right from the porch!

For nearly a decade, we've been flying into Cedar Key ourselves, landing on its little island runway, exploring town, watching sunsets over the Gulf, and falling a little more in love with this place every time. When the opportunity came to create a place of our own here, we knew exactly what we were looking for.

And we found it at Crosswinds.

Tucked alongside the Cedar Key airport runway and surrounded by the natural beauty of Florida's Gulf Coast, Crosswinds offers something we think is pretty rare: close enough to experience everything Cedar Key has to offer, yet tucked far enough away to feel like you've escaped from everything.

Out front, grab a cup of coffee and watch the occasional airplane arrive or depart from the island runway. Out back, the world changes completely. The property opens to peaceful marsh and waterfront views stretching toward the Gulf, where you'll find swaying grasses, birds and wildlife, changing tides, afternoon rain showers and some truly incredible Cedar Key sunsets.

There aren't rows of neighboring homes outside your windows or the bustle of a resort. Some days, the soundtrack really is just the water, wildlife, wind and rain.

And for our fellow pilots—Crosswinds was chosen with you in mind.

As pilots ourselves, we know there is something pretty special about flying into an island destination and leaving the car behind. Fly into Cedar Key, tie down, and Crosswinds Cottage is just a short walk away along the airport area. From there, you can settle into the house, grab your reserved golf cart, and experience Cedar Key the way we have loved experiencing it for years.

Our four-seat golf cart is available exclusively to Crosswinds guests for $50 per day, making it easy to cruise into downtown for waterfront restaurants, Dock Street, local shops, fishing, the beach and playground, or simply wander around the island with nowhere particular to be.

And you certainly don't need to arrive by airplane to appreciate the view. Families and aviation lovers can enjoy the runway activity right from the front porch, while those craving quiet can head out back and feel almost completely removed from it all.

If you are ready for some Cedar Key fishing, bring your boat, bring your trailer. Our parking yard has plenty of room!

Inside, Crosswinds is colorful, comfortable and thoughtfully set up for families to actually live, laugh and relax in it. With four bedrooms and five beds, there's room to spread out after a day exploring the island, gather around the table for dinner, pile onto the couches for games, or retreat to one of the wide porches and watch the day disappear.

You'll have the comforts that make vacation easy—Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, TVs, linens and everyday household essentials—without losing the character and slower pace that brought you to Cedar Key in the first place.

Crosswinds isn't meant to feel like a hotel.

It's meant to feel like your family's island house for a few days.

Come barefoot. Bring the kids. Fly in if that's your kind of adventure. Go fishing. Watch the planes. Grab the golf cart and wander into town. Stay on the porch too long. Listen to an afternoon storm roll across the marsh. Catch a sunset you weren't expecting.
