Fresh waffles and a nice variety of coffee & tea. Front Manager very nice and accommodating.
For the hotel to be off the main St, it was very quiet & no parking issues.
Checking in was a nightmare!! The Manager was not a pleasant person. The Toilet had a big note on it saying flush the damn toilet. We had young children with us, Not cool!! Will never choose to stay here again!
This property is very unsafe! Men lurking outside of our room and no security lock on doors. Brought it to the staffs attention and was told "its fine they have cameras and the strange men are fine they chat with many of the staff and customers." We checked out immediately and unfortunately were unable to get any of our payment back even though we felt unsafe and didnt stay at the property. Very dissatisfied in the customer service of Mountain star and expedia as they both refused to issue a refund
Property did not match the pictures from the site. Got a glimpse of one of the rooms from an open door and it did not match the pictures on the site. After trying to be known a little early, we decided to not stay there and let them keep the money we spent.
No one available to check me in at 3:45pm. No one answered either phone number listed. Remote for the TV did not work. Window latch did not work - so window could be easily opened from outside the room. Cigarette butts on the ground outside the door (no smoking allowed anywhere on the property). Light burned out in the bathroom. Overall, very disappointed

I was a little bummed there was no soap in the bathroom or shampoo and no tissues. Other than that all was fine!
We found a fingernail in the room, candy wrappers, and the shower has basically no water pressure. We were woken up promptly at 7 am to music blasting by the staff outside. Our car windsheild was soaked with hose water while one of the employees watered the plants that are all over the already tight parking lot. We didn’t complain because hey for the price- we weren’t expecting much. I got home and saw they charged me an extra $98 because I had an extra person. I didn’t even realize when booking I didn’t place my son on the reservation. I’ve never had a hotel do this and I’m shocked how rude they were when I called to ask about it. We almost canceled the reservation when we pulled up and saw the condition of the hotel but decided not to. We should have because unfortunately they are trying to milk every penny and aren’t putting any of it into properly maintaining the property.

An okay experience but overall lacking. Check in took a bit as there was no one at the desk for a bit and when they arrived, they were not highly friendly.
The room was okay and as promised with the number of beds and while the sleep was comfortable, overall the room was subpar with street noise quite evident through the experience. The TV did not work and the large gap on the top of the door to the bathroom was interesting.
They did provide a welcome gift for the visit, which was nice.
Overall, what I would expect from a motel type location but the cost of the room against what was received was subpar, in my opinion.

No heat in room but manager fixed that. TV remote didn’t work but manager came in again and fixed that. Key to room did not work.
Manager was kind and helpful.
Breakfast buffet pictures were deceiving, it was o.k. but not as pictured.

Husbands, this is not the place! Was supposed to be 1 king and 1 queen bed, ended up with 3 beds all jammed together, so no sleeping together. The cost is too high to save a small amount.
Heater was trash. Could literally see our breath when we got into the room.
Toilet has vinyl decal “Flush the Damn Toilet!” So tacky and ghetto.

I would rate Mountain Star Inn about 2.5 stars — slightly below average — but that option isn’t available. It’s not quite a 2-star, yet it doesn’t reach a solid 3 either.
When we arrived, there was a large laminated sheet on the bed listing numerous rules, most stating a $250 fine per incident. The fee amounts were unusually high, some policies were unorthodox, and the fines listed on the sheet differed from those on the door, leaving a poor first impression and little confidence in management.
The bathroom only had a fixed rain-style shower head with no standard adjustable shower head, which was odd and impractical. The exterior railing was made of welded and painted rebar and was flimsy — something I’ve never seen before and likely never will again. Many areas of the property — inside the rooms and around the exterior — reflect poor maintenance and deferred upkeep. While the room was fairly clean overall, multiple surfaces, fixtures, and exterior elements looked worn.
On the positive side, the room included a decent-sized TV with DIRECTV service. There was also a refrigerator with a small freezer compartment and a microwave — both convenient features that added value. Parking is close to the rooms and all units are ground level, making loading and unloading easy.
Overall, the stay wasn’t terrible. While it is a budget hotel and priced accordingly, there are several other options in Cedar City at a similar price that offer a better value and a more polished experience.
