Lovely cottage very peaceful. Down side for us no immediate walks for our dog which would have been ideal so had to drive out though not too far. Didn’t think we would miss the WiFi, we did 😙. If you’re prepared to drive to see the beauty of Dumfries n Galway you’re in for a treat, stunning. Great pub 12 miles away Clachin Inn excellent food and reasonable prices for the drinks. We had a wonderful time in Swallow Lodge. The perfect place to relax and appreciate nature. Jean and Steve were so welcoming and helpful. A highlight was seeing the two deer who came to visit. Country side views across the fields, dry stone walls etc. absolutely wonderful views. The garden is extremely secure and plentiful for our dog to wander with no worries. An absolute piece haven for those who wish to escape from the humdrum of suburban life and explore the area. The wildlife in abundance having seen Red Kites, Woodpeckers, Buzzards. Stags etc. All from the doorstep of the lodge! Absolutely fabulous and will definitely be returning as soon as possible! Missing it already writing this. Off lead walks for dogs plentiful in the area...too numerous to mention but Galloway Forest (Yellow Trail) a must for dog walkers. 4G access if you want to be in touch with urban life but for us it was just magical to get away from all of that.
