Beautiful, well-kept, fully-furnished and nicely decorated house. Kept very warm in the cold weather. Gas fireplace works too well (not a complaint)! Had to turn on and off to keep from getting too hot.We got a permit to cut down our own Christmas tree near Alpine Meadows. We were very glad the house has high vaulted ceilings in the living room. The tree we chose ended up being 12.5 ft tall! It did not look that big against a mountain, but it was perfect!Had to call management company once (very responsive) to locate pots and pans. They were in drawer under the cooktop that was stuck shut and looked like a facade, not like a drawer. Opened with a hard pull, once we knew what it was.A few minor carpet stains here and there, but for a dog friendly house that's to be expected. This was the 3rd year we stayed at Olive Branch and our 6th rental with Tahoe Getaways. We love coming back to this house and hope to continue to do so for many more years! There are lots of reasons for this, the location is fantastic, the size, layout and condition of the home are perfect for our adult family of 7 plus our dogs. The kitchen is large enough for several people to work in it and it's well stocked with everything one needs to cook all we've thought of so far. The large living room is comfy for watching a movie or just enjoying the fireplace. The dining room table seats our whole group and the bedroom arrangement gives everyone private spaces with plenty of bathrooms. We also enjoy having the fenced back yard with the deck and hot tub so the dogs can run around freely while we are out there. It also feels very private. Tahoe Getaways is by far the BEST property management company we have ever had at the many rentals we have enjoyed over the years. They are so pleasant to talk to and extremely responsive if something needs repair. Knowing they are there makes the stay worry free! Plenty of room for the whole family with college age kids! The location was perfect for walking to a morning coffee or breakfast or spending an afternoon sampling Garwood's famous appetizers and drinks. The hot tub was a big hit after a day at the beach or hiking and we really enjoyed the big space for family game night. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for those families who need places to be together or have some space to relax. Our family truly enjoyed our stay in your beautiful home. The house is large and spacious with plenty of room for people to spread out or spend time together. It was cozy and welcoming! And the kitchen had lots of counter space for prepping family meals. We enjoyed cooking on the backyard deck (We brought our Blackstone from home). There were plenty of towels and linens! It was well stocked and comfortable. We easily slept 7 people with dogs and had a great time. Very close to the beach, Gar Woods, hiking, etc. The hot tub was great and the kitchen well stocked. The only caveat for those traveling with pets is that the fence is not solid and had a large hole (missing planks) in the back so it is not "fully fenced" and we could not leave our dogs in the yard unattended but it is mostly fenced and it was fine while we were there and hanging out with them. Nice large yard for the dogs to explore and enjoy. The common area was more than enough room for 6 adults and two kids and the bedroom/ loft layout worked well for us. We loved everything about the Olive Branch home. Great location, extremely well appointed, very clean. The layout is great and offers space for everyone. My husband and I are in tech and had to work part of the time during our stay ... Olive Branch provides a great environment and space for keeping our kids occupied while we worked. The house was beautiful, clean, and in a great location. The layout of the house was perfect for our group. However, we did have issues with the internet during our stay. It was quite slow, which made it difficult for us to stay connected. Despite this issue, we still had a great time and would recommend the rental to others. But the internet was terrible and made it almost impossible to work remotely. If you get upgraded please let us know and we will stay again for sure. This was the second time we stayed at this property, the first being 10 years ago. At the time, in 2013, the home was stunning - well-appointed furniture, plenty of cooking utensils and cookware, a great backyard environment - an all-around beautiful property. This time, we felt like the house had ten years of short-term rental miles on it with VERY little maintenance and care directed at the upkeep of the property. For the expense of this home, we were VERY disappointed by the quality of the property and would caution any future renters of the disappointment you may have if you this you are getting what you pay for. ##### Christina C. The bed had a plastic mattress cover which made the fitted sheet slip around all night. The bathroom is very beautiful however the floor was freezing cold with only two small throw rugs. The shower drain plugged up immediately so you are standing in water. We were thinking we could sit on the patio but the table set is very old and not comfortable. The kitchen is very nice and set up well for cooking. The carpeting is obviously well warn and not a issue if you are a large group with kids. Mixed reviews. Very upsetting to hear it had been down since spring and no one alerted us of this. Major property management mistake!!! Also the door to the deck is broken and very hard to open and close. Being this is where the hot tub and grill are, it was a tremendous hassle to lift the slider each time we wanted to open it. I read about this in reviews from year ago, guess I assumed it would have been fixed. Lots of dog pee stains everywhere, broken dresser drawers and no smart TVs. These are things I would expect when spending this much. So much potential but needs much better upkeep! Fantastic location and nice kitchen. ##### Amybeth T. The acoustics in the house is pretty bad. Even when the doors are completely shut on the 2nd floor, it is very loud, you can hear all the conversations going downstairs in the living room very clearly. There were some broken screen doors that we could not use to keep windows or doors open since we didn't want bugs coming through. Some windows were missing screens so we couldn't open the window in the burning furnace of a room upstairs. The pots and pans and cooking utensils that were available were not good and needs replacements. Maybe it's due to covid there were no condiments except for vegetable cooking oil. I would advise to bring condiments like salt and pepper. The island sink faucet is faulty or incorrectly installed because you cannot use the handle to turn on the water but have to actually tilt the knob itself. It was hard to use the garage because there were no clickers. It is incredibly hot upstairs even though we were there in first weekend of june. I cannot imagine how anyone can stay upstairs during the hot summers. The pillows need to be replaced. There were yellow stained and very nasty. Otherwise, the neighborhood is very quiet/nice with short trails, quick walk to beach. This place was overall good but really could enhance, upgrade, fix the minor issues I've mentioned to make the placed great. ##### angela k. We were there from the 23rd to the 30th. During an end and unusual snowstorm. So first of all, the house was very comfortable in spite of the fact that we were essentially snowed in. It was warm, almost too warm and large enough that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. For the most part the house is very comfortable. No one complained about the bed and the bed I slept in was very comfortable. The large living room/dining room/kitchen area made for great family meals together. The loft with two full beds overlooking the living room was somewhat of a problem, though. I don't believe that the description of the house really accurately described The absolute lack of privacy this room has and my two daughters were stuck in there. They could hear everything going on in the living room below and they spent their entire vacation with noise canceling headphones on. I wish it had been made more clear that this was the situation. Also on my list of complaints is the kitchen. While fairly large the people who own the house and/or rental company has provided no place for guests to leave their food. So we had our food all over the counters, which left very little counterspace for food prep. There are also not adequate numbers of glasses and dishes and we were constantly having to do dishes because of the shortage. There was only one small pot and so I actually had to go buy an additional part in order to make a large enough batch of soup for the whole family. They leave absolutely no essentials except for coffee filters. No salt and pepper, no nonstick spray, no oil. I also manage a vacation rental and I provide all of the kitchen basics to my guests because I know that they do not want to have to go buy salt and pepper, oil, the very basics of herbs and spices, or baking powder and baking soda. And I think it is safe to assume that most families will be doing a fair amount of cooking when renting a house like this. There was also so much snow on the deck in the back when we arrived that it made using the hot tub almost impossible. Only one snow shovel was available to us and no snow melt. There was also very little toilet paper and paper towels left for us in the house. We had to go buy our own. which I think is really weird for a rental house that costs about $1300 per night. You'd think that they would provide ample toilet paper and paper towels! I was also pretty disappointed that there were absolutely no Christmas decorations even though it was obviously a holiday get together. There were, in fact, Christmas decorations in bins in the garage and so I'm not sure why none of them were put out for our stay. Again, with my vacation rental, I'll ask the guests coming in over Christmas if they want it decorated. They always do! And so I make that extra effort for them and make the house is very festive for holiday gatherings. So it is definitely a mixed review! In some ways it was very comfortable and perfect for our family but in other ways I felt that it is poorly managed and the comfort and care of guests is highly overlooked. Also, on my first night there I emailed Tahoe getaways and asked if they had any other pots or possibly a crockpot that I could borrow and they never responded. ##### tristen f. We loved staying at Olive Branch. It was a 5 minute walk to the beach and Garwoods, and a 8-10 minute walk to get coffee in the morning. The house is beautiful and pretty well maintained. We had our 7 month old and our dog, who both enjoyed the backyard. The stairs had plush carpet which was helpful from a safety standpoint. I'd definitely stay here again! ##### Carmen C.
