For most visitors, the best time to go to Carnarvon Park is during the cooler, drier months from April to October.During this period, the weather is more pleasant for exploring the park's walking tracks and gorges. Daytime temperatures are typically mild, making activities like hiking to the Art Gallery or visiting the Moss Garden enjoyable without the intense heat and humidity of summer. This is particularly appealing for couples and families looking to make the most of their outdoor adventures. The shoulder months of April-May and September-October can be particularly good, as the crowds are generally smaller than during the peak winter school holidays, yet the weather remains very favourable. This allows for a more relaxed experience when visiting popular spots like the Amphitheatre or Ward's Canyon. While the summer months (November to March) can bring spectacular thunderstorms and lush greenery, they also mean higher temperatures, humidity, and the possibility of track closures due to heavy rain.
