The Great House is a restored old home with pretty and comfortable rooms (and a powerful shower), but we had some issues with our stay. The room's curtains did not block out enough light at night, so the room was much brighter than we are used to for sleeping, which caused us some issues. Also, we expected breakfast and were even told at check-in the times that breakfast was served, but when we went to the breakfast area, it was completely closed. We asked at the desk about it, and after they checked further, we were told, "I'm sorry, I thought there was breakfast, but it is closed." For one night, it was not a big deal, but we were definitely disappointed. The staff we encountered were cordial, but again, it was not what we expected for our stay there. Next time we are going to choose another location.

"We really enjoyed staying here! The ambiance was amazing! The views are gorgeous! It had plenty of space for our group of 6. It was very quiet. The only minor issue we had was we couldn't get the propane grill to work. Otherwise everything was spot on! I would stay here again!"

"The property couldn’t have been more perfect- it was clean, well appointed and extremely relaxing. We enjoyed the delicious food at the Bistro and found the staff were very thoughtful and accommodating. One of the best places to stay! We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Placencia!"
