Stayed 2 weeks in this property and it was amazing. Beautiful property and scenery, Jane who was the host was very accommodating to our needs and nothing was too much trouble - beautiful sun rises and sun sets from the balcony’s outside the bedrooms - highly recommend this property!!

Clean, modern open plan family home
We loved it here! A huge garden with amazing views which the dogs enjoyed charging around. Comfy, well equipped accommodation. Peaceful surroundings. Will definitely come back again !

Great stay
Everything about our break was great. Fab, quick communication with Jane prior to stay. Check in process easy and Jane very kindly allowed us to leave cars at the cottage before official check in time. Beautiful cottage with everything needed. Location was just excellent too. Wonderful countryside but a quick drive in to CardIff itself. Thanks Jane!

Beautiful Location
We loved the location of the little barn. The drive through the narrow hedge lined roads really added to the experience. The house itself was perfect for what we needed. Plenty of room and well equipped. The little welsh cakes that were left for us were delicious and very much appreciated. Jane was a wonderful host who responded quickly to any messages and was very accommodating.

Beautiful Holiday Accommodation
Loved spending time with our family at "The Gallops", so much was provided we didn't need any thing more. We had a warm welcome of home-baked Welsh cakes and bread, milk etc.... (so thoughtful) a real home from home, the children loved the huge outdoors space and their dog too. The property was spotlessly clean and comfortable....we definitely recommend this fantastic place you won't be disappointed!!!

Lovely Remote Accommodation
Accommodation was very well equiped and comfortable. Our dogs were very welcome. Cows and horses are in the next field with views over to Somerset. Shops are a 10-15 min drive away

Excellent property, ideal location
The Gallops was the perfect place for us to relax in beautiful surroundings and also to easily reach family in Cardiff and Llanelli. It was lovely to see the Channel from the property and to see the horses and jockeys at the training stables next door. We even enjoyed seeing the airplanes - close enough to be interesting, far away enough not to disturb! The barn has been beautifully renovated and is very comfortable and well equipped. It was nice that Jane, the owner, popped round to see us early in our stay. We appreciated the welcome basket on arrival too. There were supermarkets nearby and plenty of places to eat out. The garden is a great space and has a good dining set at the double doors leading out from the kitchen/dining area. We visit our Welsh relations every year and will definitely stay here again - we had a great time.

The location of the property was perfect for what we wanted, peace and quiet and the feeling of being away from everything whilst being close enough to amenities when needed. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and the property was well equipped with everything we needed.

Gorgeous Gem
We stayed here with the in laws and sister in law and the dog and we had a great time. Jane was lovely and she has a beautiful home. Great amenities and lovely touches like homemade Welsh cakes, fresh milk and bread on arrival. Only things to note is that it is a massive garden so maybe an investment of a hot tub would make it even better! Also some more lighting outside.

Just Wonderful!
Oh my goodness what an amazing place! I loved it here and so did my 78 year old mother. We were both so sad to leave. The whole place is delightful and beautifully done and thought out. The garden made our dog so happy! He was ecstatic! And the horses in the field divine and the exercising of them in the morning in the fields nearby lovely to watch and hear. This was by far the best place on VRBO I’ve ever stayed! 11 out of 10 and if you want peace and tranquillity and space, which I yearn for - this is for you!

Great location for a relaxing holiday for all ages. The cottage has been tastefully converted to a high standard, with a very homely feel. Jane was a great host very easy to communicate with at all times. The welcome pack was much appreciated. Will be recommending to family and friends.

Fantastic property and a nice relaxing stay.
My wife and I (and our 2 dogs) stayed here for our wedding anniversary. We wanted to get away and totally relax and that is what we got at the Gallup's! Property is finished to a high standard and is very clean. The paddock was great for our dogs and our morning yoga. Lots of peace and quiet and the horses in the neighbouring field would come and say hello each day. Jane was a great host and was there if needed but did not intrude at all. Her home made Welsh cakes were a nice touch. We plan to return in the future! Highly recommended.

Beautiful , peaceful location and well positioned for different adventures
The house was a lovely set up and had a very homely feel. Was such a treat to see so many beautiful horses in the field. Jane was very friendly and helpful on our arrival and departure.

Peaceful location
Exactly as it shows on the photo's, the property is set in very spacious, peaceful and private grounds with easy access to all the local beaches, villages and towns. The cottage itself is very well equipped, fabulous views over to North Devon and the welcome pack includes the best home-made Welsh cakes :)

Excellent cottage in the countryside
This cottage is excellent, completely detached and completely private in a large plot of land surrounded by fields and horses which come up to the edge of the garden. Newly renovated and big enough for a family or friends.

What an amazing place 'The Gallops' is. We were very impressed upon on arrival - not only was the cottage beautifully furnished but the homemade Welsh cakes and breakfast basket was such a thoughtful touch. We have really enjoyed our stay here - the children enjoyed the spacious garden, watching the horses and sleeping in the bunk beds! It has been the perfect home from home and we were sad to leave. Jane, thank you for being such a welcoming and friendly hostess. We look forward to staying again.

The Gallops - Feb stay
Beautiful property and surroundings. Very warm, comfortable and clean. Jane the owner was lovely calling in on our first night too. We had a total mix of February weather but managed to miss the heaviest rain, playing board games indoors and then visited local Cowbridge, Llantwit Major, Rhoose and nearby Cardiff during the sunny spells. Dog loved the walks and the paddock back in the cottage (he’s seen a single horse or two in the countryside back where we live before but the pack of racehorses galloping past was definitely of interest)!!! Diolch for such a lovely stay!

Perfect Retreat, Perfect Break!
This was our first time visiting 'The Gallops' and it certainly won't be our last! The break was absolutely perfect, a wonderful property in a fabulous location. We always seek as much peace and quiet as possible, and The Gallops certainly provides that...it was amazing to be able to sit in the garden with our two dogs and hear only the birds chirping and the horses and cows in the neighbouring field chewing! The cottage itself is a beautiful space, with everything you need, and the Wi-Fi was essential as we did have to work while away. Jane, the owner, is delightful and has provided a wonderful retreat which very much feels a 'home from home'. We genuinely did not want to leave...counting the days now until we return.

Idyllic property
The Gallops is a wonderful property conversion in a beautiful setting with views all the way across to Devon. Although rural it is close to many attractions together with Cardiff itself. There is the added advantage of having several pubs close by for convenient meals out as well. A lovely base for our annual visit to family in South Wales.

The barn is amazing with beautiful views
I rented this barn as somewhere for me and my bridal party to get ready the day of my wedding. The barn was big enough to accommodate us and the views were amazing. We also had the sunshine for the whole weekend.

Absolutely lovesd staying at the Gallops. Gorgeous clean and nicely styled house. Rural location and detached so felt private. The garden is huge and has a great view down the rolling hills and across the sea. Beaut! Jane was friendly had great advice for places to visit. Wonderful Break
This property really allowed us to relax. It really is secluded. A lot say they are and then when you get there you find you are attached to another cottage. Our dogs can be yappy around other big dogs but we could relax as there was nobody they could annoy. We all enjoyed the big garden and having all that outdoor enclosed space knowing they couldn't get out. We had a lovely welcome from Jane who was there when we arrived and her Welsh cakes are amazing! The barn is so clean and welcoming. I always worry about the cleanliness when I go away but I needn't have worried, I could relax and Jane had thought of everything you might need. It was homely too with all little touches. We enjoyed watching the horses exercising each morning and we would definitely go back....perhaps in the winter next time as the log burner looked cosy. Thank you Jane for making this available for people wanting to escape every day life/stresses.

Amazing!
If you’re looking for a short get-away to Wales with friends or family look no further...an up to date we’ll kept barn with a stunning view in the middle of shopping centres and Barry island. The barn is spotless and has everything you might need on your trip, including a massive garden space for outdoor activities. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

"The Gallops" location is ideal for Cardiff and Barry island visits... Nicely decorated and maintained, great outdoor space for all and fantastic views at the back. True countryside life, atmosphere, and tranquility with major city amenities just a short drive away; remote without truly being remote. Owner just a walking distance away but very discreet, hospitable and available to the guests needs, provided a welcome packs (Milk, mini-cereals packets, bread, homemade wales cakes) which was very kind and nice of her. We definitely will book again and recommend it. J

Amazing Accommodation
The Gallops is one of the best holiday rentals we have ever stayed in. The setting was idyllic with lovely views towards the sea and a sunny and very large back lawn which our grandson enjoyed playing in. It was also brilliant for our early Easter egg hunt. The accommodation was immaculate and very well equipped. We were four adults, one six year old and two babies and we found the accommodation served us well. Lots of storage and good sized bedrooms. The balconies were a bonus and added to the enjoyment of the property. It was lovely to have two bathrooms, a downstairs cloakroom plus a utility room. A home from home. Another joy was seeing the lovely racehorses on their daily exercise which my six year old grandson plus the adults all found fascinating to watch. Jane and Les the owners are very friendly and helpful and offered advice whenever needed. We enjoyed a wonderful four night stay and would not hesitate to return as it is a stunning area of Wales with easy access to beaches, countryside pursuits and the city of Cardiff all within an easy drive. We could not fault it.

Beautiful property, couldn't have asked for more.
The cottage was immaculately clean, warm, comfortable, peaceful and has everything you could need. Jane made us feel so welcome when we arrived. The garden was huge and perfectly safe and secure for our dog to have the best time watching the horses go by. We had a lovely stay, it's perfectly situated for lots of long beach walks, great pub dinners and then back for a cosy evening in front of the woodburner, cant wait to go back.

Lovely place
We had a lovely stay at the gallops. The house was well equipped with everything you might need including high chair, travel cot and children’s toys and games. The log fire made the house lovely and cosey when the wind was howling. The location is great and is ideally placed to visit much that South Wales as to offer.

A perfect property in the Vale of Glamorgan
The property was beautiful with everything provided. The owner Jane had also left some basic groceries for us to make our stay easier. The views are lovely and there are lots of places to visit locally as well as being so close to Cardiff.

Wonderful location, first class accommodation and lovely host
Great location to stay, within easy access to Cardiff, Barry Island to name a few. The host Jane was great from start to finish of our booking. Racehorses pass by every day and it was great to speak to the jockey's and watch them ride.We would have no hesitation in booking this property again. Thank you Jane for a wonderfully relaxing break.

Beautiful Cottage for afew nights away break.
Wonderful Cottage which sleeps up to 7, private behind closed gates with a massive back yard for kids or dog to play in. Races horses pass by afew times a day. Cottage has everything you need with 2 bathrooms and 1 down stairs WC. BBQ, WiFi, Free view t.v and DVD player along with to side balonys leaving the 2 adult bedrooms with lovley countryside views. Only 15 minutes drive from 3 beaches in Barry Island which allows Dogs on the beach. Overall we had a lovely 3night Break. P.S - Go to the Fox and Hounds Pub for a Steak meal and a glass sorry Red as it's fantastic 👌 Enjoy your stay Guys x

Even better than it looks!
We loved every minute of our stay here! The property really is in the middle of nowhere yet only a short drive to Barry or Cardiff. Jane was lovely and helpful from the moment we booked right up till we got there. I will be staying here every time I come to South Wales......we loved it!

Loved our stay in this beautifully restored barn. Jane has taken great care to make holidays here a joy. Lovely Welsh cake on arrival and Jane popped in to welcome us to the property. It is great for dogs, they could run in their own field, whilst we sat and enjoyed a coffee on the patio. It really is a home from home and a little piece of heaven on earth. We would have no hesitation in booking this property again. Thank you Jane for a wonderfully relaxing break.

Unique property in stunning location
