"There was bugs in the bathtub and spiderwebs around the window. We git what we paid for. Conveniently located to get to beaches, old town and various other city attractions."

"I had the jr.suite facing the bay it was a beautiful view. The room was extra spacious. The distance from the resort to the beach and restaurants was about five minutes walking. The pool was heated and huge. The Jacuzzi was also very large. I have kids so having a huge pool was necessary. Great stay and definitely will be back!"

"This place is pretty centralized to most tourist spots in San Diego. Unfortunately that means traffic is a congested during peak hours. The parking is okay. There is one way in and out, so make sure you park your vehicle for easy exit. No free breakfast, only free coffee/tea, but there is a "living room" where snacks can be purchased. The noise level in the room is pretty high...sounds from the other rooms, footsteps above, conversations, and exterior people noise. The staff was pleasant and they were able to accommodate our request to have our 3 rooms in the same bldg. There are 3 levels for each building and an elevator in each one. The elevator is tiny, maybe 4 people with no luggage. We were in SD for a quick weekend event. The property is on the older side, but it fit our needs- a bed and a shower and nothing else. The best thing-they had multiple large ice machines! Cheers!"

"Overall our stay was great. It is an older hotel/resort that is more newly renovated. Our room was very nice, spacious, and had a great balcony that overlooked the pool. Lots of things nearby in walking distance which was a plus. The on-site restaurant (Lapper) was delicious as well. The only down side was the condition of the pool area. There was food/drink/trash left lying everywhere in the pool and hot tub area. Some that even fell into the hot tub. Lots of unsupervised kids in the hot tub. It was Memorial Day, however I did not see staff picking up any of the trash. Seagulls got into the left out food as well, causing them to swarm the pool. Overall I really liked our stay here, but the pool/hot tub situation took away a star for me."

"The staff at this hotel was excellent and the breakfast, while very expensive, was quite good. The public spaces are well maintained and attractive all of the rooms are very plain and in need of some updating. Our biggest gripe, and it is a big one, is the pervasive obnoxious music that plays in every public space in this hotel. It is loud and highly interruptive. I asked the front desk people if they could lower it, and they said that it was set by corporate. For this reason alone I would be reluctant to stay at any Marriott property. One arrives somewhat jet lagged, and is up at 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning sitting in a public space trying to get some work done. The music makes this impossible. It's even in the damn elevators. Obviously this is the work of some genius at the corporate level and again I would frankly try to avoid a Marriott in the future because of it."

"I liked that the property was very clean. Did not like how I had to pay for both wifi and parking. Additionally breakfast was also paid for. I was promised a balcony but the balcony door was drilled shut so I could not use this feature that I payed extra for. The hot tub was tiny and the jets didn’t even work which I was really disappointed by."
