Location was ideal with a great bonus of a complimentary shuttle to and from the Waterfront (at set times). Room was spacious with generous supply of tea, coffee, toffee and cookies! Staff were very polite and helpful.

It does not really look like in the pictures. Rooms and lobby are renovated and are nice and clean. But the inside of the building is missing bits and pieces here and there that makes it look and feel less than what it could be, such as the inside of the elevator missing some stuff. Breakfast was quite unimpressive and service was slow in general, both restaurant and reception. The surrounding areas are not nice to look at during daytime and quite intimidating after dark but nothing happened.

All fine
There was a shower issue but it was fixed promptly. Breakfast/bar are basic but adequate. Parking was on-street but in a square with good security and extremely convenient being right at the hotel entrance.

The hotel is tucked away in a little square - very charming. There is a bar area with indoor and outdoor seating. The breakfast is plentiful, with lots of choices. They were very good about keeping our luggage, both when we checked in early and had a late checkout.

Comfortable hotel in the City Bowl!
Spent the night here before flying out. Great location, easy access to good restaurants and shops. Great room, and very friendly and efficient staff. Excellent breakfast buffet too. We stayed in the 'Green Annexe', just off the main building Good, very peaceful. Highly recommend.

Great location and dining room
Next to center of town and near waterfront. Good lunch and dinner. Cooked my steak perfectly and great hamburgers. Rooms nice and very clean. Close to good market. I would stay there again.

Excellent service!!! Our air conditioner had stopped working and when it couldn’t be fixed they were quick to offer us a new room without hesitation!!! The staff was always very friendly and helpsome which made our stay more enjoyable.

Hollow on the Square over New Year
We stayed in Hollow on the Square for 3 nights over New Year. The staff were great, the rooms were fine apart from doors being too thin- -we could hear people coming and going, and the doors tend to bang when being closed. There was a New Year party in the open area next to the hotel, and it was so loud that it was if the party was in our room, and continued to after 2pm, so would not advise staying here if not planning a late night for New Year. We were not in the main hotel area but in the adjoining "apartments" which forms part of the hotel. The breakfast was adequate, though staff in the dining area were not so friendly. I would say it is fine for business stays, but could be quite over the weekends and holidays when businesses close down. The sister hotel is in a much better position for night life and cafe's etc., as most of the places around us were closed, and there was not much night life close by. There is a shuttle to the V&A waterfront, and it is not far to walk there during the day, but would not advise doing so at night. We used Uber most of the time during out stay, and found them to be reliable, and very reasonably priced.

Excellent value for money
The hotel is tricky for taxis to find, and while the building is aged, everything is clean and fresh looking. The staff were responsive and friendly to requests. Will stay there again when we return to Capetown and recommend it to people in Australia

Clean ans modern hotel
Had a pleasant stay, staff was very accomodating as I had to delay check out due to unforeseen circumstances. Linens on bed were top quality. The only complaint was wifi waa very aporadic but that seems to be a common experience in South africa!

I wouldn't again
Hotel was kind of in a scary neighborhood and after sundown the city becomes a ghost town. The room I booked was in another building around the corner not actually inside the Hotel, very odd. Second day I was there the water didn't work at all. When I asked to move rooms, I was told no but you can use an empty room to take a shower. Most of the time the Wi-Fi didn't work ether. When I asked to get a little reimbursement due to the water situation I was told no. I also asked if I can get a free ride to the airport and told no. Poor customer service!

Room fine, spacious, good breakfast as you will do it all by yourself. The rest is a slapstick: Day 1 no internet connection, even no network. Day 2: flooding bathroom sloping into the room. Day 3: no shower/water, broken pipe.

Nice hotel clean and close to the tourist points
It is close to the waterfront, you can walk, and it is close to several tourist places, the attention was great, all very friendly and the hotel very clean.

Not four star standard
For being a 4 star hotel I don't think the conditions were the best. The shower was dirty, there were no robe or slippers, the front desk did not have an adapter to borrow, air port shuttle was almost twice as expensive through the hotel compared to when I ordered an Uber myself. The isolation to the door was extremely bad, I woke up several times from people coming in and out of the elevator in the hallway outside my room. On plus side, the breakfast buffet was really good and roomservice had good food to very affordable prices.

Hopeless & Useless hotel in Cape Town
Firstly location is very very bad. Had booked room for 4 nights had to check out within 2 days. Within two nights had to change my room twice.Bathrooms were pathetic. Despite checking out within two days instead of four I was not even refunded because of their bad rooms they have.
