We stayed at The Hugh for two nights in order to attend a wedding at Congress Hall. The location was absolutely perfect . . . we never had to get back in the car once we arrived and were happy that the car was safe in a monitored parking lot! We were able to walk from event to event without any issue. The breakfast menu was fabulous, the Ivory Room was just perfect, and John and Sandy were so very gracious, professional and accommodating. Thank you for making our first time in Cape May simply wonderful : )

Usually for most of the Bed and Breakfasts, they provide iron for their guests. However our room didn’t had any Iron to iron our clothes. Also, the bathroom didn’t had any sink to wash hands inside. Instead the sink and vanity was right next to our bed. Which was a little off for us. The place is nice and clean, and close to cape May city, and major shopping places. The breakfast was nice too.

The house is a lovely Victorian in a convenient location. The king room was spacious, the bathroom was quite small but okay. The floors throughout the house were not clean at all!! We stayed 3 nights and never had internet available. Breakfast was adequate, but we expected a little more of a presentation. We rarely saw the staff/hosts. The B&B seemed more like an Air BnB. No one to help with luggage which had to be lugged up 34 steps. No one to chat with about Cape May, or to discuss places to check out or restaurants that they thought would be good. Do not feel it was worth the high price!

The hugh was lovely and John was an excellent host. We enjoyed the breakfast, and the porch! The room was spacious, and we felt right at home. It felt very LGBTQ friendly. We also are at the restaurant Maison Bleue and it was the best food we had all weekend. Would recommend and would stay again.

The Hugh is everything you want in a Bed and Breakfast in Cape May. The owners are engaged, on site, and approachable. The location is perfect, no need to move your car once you park. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast is outstanding. We will be back.

The quality of service and friendliness of the owners and staff were very good. The hotel had a tiny bedroom for 2 single beds, bathroom very small. Dinner with French chef was superb. I’d go again. Location very good and central. Close to Washington Mall.

Nice boutique hotel (b&b). Lovely stay. If you’re on the level above the restaurant and sleep early, I’d see about requesting the third level for sleeping comfortably and somewhat quietly. It’s an older property so it all makes sense and is nothing the owners can do to really change it. It’s a no frills kind of place so go and enjoy it and the beauty that surrounds it. I provided direct feedback to the owners and I believe it will be taken and applied. Beautiful little beach town!

Cape May is our happy place and we found a great new spot to stay. The property is in the heart of Cape May and walkable to all the great spots. John who runs the property is a great.
