Overall, the property was beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The wildlife was a highlight of the stay. We saw monkeys, a sloth, lizards and many different types of birds, which made the experience feel especially unique. The hotel itself was peaceful and never felt overly crowded, which was a major plus. The main drawback was the service, which was consistently slow throughout the stay. From check-in to being seated and served at lunch and dinner, there were noticeable delays. At the wet bar, I waited about 15 minutes before the bartender was able to take my order. It did not seem to be a reflection of the staff themselves, but rather that the property appeared understaffed, especially at the restaurants and bars. Checkout was similar, with only one person at the front desk managing both phone calls and guest departures. The food and drinks were very good and clearly well prepared, though they felt overpriced given the level of service. Overall, the property itself was lovely and the setting was memorable, but the staffing and service experience did not quite match the price point. Note: If you plan to drive, be extremely careful as there were a lot of cars parked on the side of the road by beach goers, making it narrow and dangerous with oncoming vehicles.

The room with the private pool was awesome. The staff was exceptional, friendly, helpful and polite. The restaurant is great, the menu amazing and the service is word class. We can only recommend all activities they offer. The guides are very knowledgeable and make you feel safe and taken care of.

We had a fantastic stay loved the boat ride to the lodge, rooms were spacious, lovely big bathroom Balcony had a lovely swinging seat overlooking the river Breakfasts were fruit plus fish of your choice and was excellent Trails around the hotel were great to see frogs and birds We did a fantastic magical kayaking trip which is a must We visited national park to see turtles laying eggs, unfortunately she Borykng the hole before laying eggs but we did see the turtle going back to the sea and the hole shed dug, still a memorable experience A highlight were the iguanas lounging around the pool with us and the macaws hanging out in the trees

If you want to be right in the middle of nature and wildlife this is the place to go. Most of the resort is raised up into the treetops so you can be eye level with creatures you'd usually only see way above you from the ground. The included hikes and birdwatching were wonderful with very knowledgeable and passionate guides. We also arranged a day trip to Corcovado by boat through the lodge in advance, seems pricey at first but was well worth it. Over the course of a week we saw sloths (lodge & Corcovado), monkeys (everywhere), tapirs (Corcovado), ant eaters (lodge and Corcovado), coatis (lodge), frogs and lizards (lodge) and so many different birds (everywhere). We chose a forest bungalow room which is just screened in from the outside. I was a bit worried the lack of AC might make it too hot to sleep, but at the end of April the fans in the room were enough to keep us comfortable over night. No need for alarm clocks, the howler monkeys will get you up every day. Overall a fantastic nature focused lodge that combines the ability to relax with adventure.

My wife and I recently stayed at Hotel Sanctuarium for 5 nights for her birthday and 5 stars doesn’t express how much we enjoyed staying here. Every staff member from the front desk to our personal concierge to the restaurant/bar staff was top notch. They greet you everytime you enter the property, they decorated our room for my wife’s birthday, they give you tours around the hotel, they notify you when a macau is in the trees, etc. they take care of all the little details that made an amazing experience. Genesis and the restaurant staff were so friendly and welcoming Everytime we stopped by for coffee and a delicious meal. She made us feel as if we were friends before our stay! Yeraldin, Kevin and all the staff were incredibly nice and made us feel so at home while staying with them. They answered any question we had, opened the door for us EVERY time, and brought the nighttime tea to our door every night we asked. One of a kind service and attention to detail. For a new hotel, they are as experienced an anyone out there! Highly recommend anyone to stay here and you won’t be disappointed. The property is gorgeous, not overly crowded, wildlife walking around constantly, and offer couple massages down by their private river oasis! Thank you everybody from Hotel Sanctuarium. Pura Vida!
