NEVER AGAIN
I will never book with Ohio.River Cabins again. I booked the cabin, read the reviews after the fact. There was a review about the hot tub not working which is the main reason me and my man booked a weekend get away for my birthday. I contacted host about the hot tub being fixed and never got a reply! The hot tub was NOT working. It was actually warmed up via a BUCKET WARMER prior to our arrival so when we got there it seemed to be working but with low temperatures outside we quickly realized the hot tub wasnt staying warm. I messaged Brad with Ohio River Cabins and got no response. The cabin had stink bugs everywhere inside. The check out time says AFTER 10AM. It was so weird that the Brads phone must have gotten fixed bc when he called to YELL at me for being in the cabin after the check out time. Um... HELLO IT SAYS AFTER 10AM BRAD! He told me "the best thing i can do is get my shit and get out of the cabin" when I mentioned all the things wrong with the place over the phone.

I called several times and it was after three before I got you out of the cabin. The hot tub was 104 when you checked out. You was over 5 hours late on checking out. Its strange that it was so bad and you would not leave the place.

Main reason was to relax in a hot tub for a couple days. Hot tub was dirty . Only had 2 jets out of 16 that worked . Wasn’t hot enough.

Pros: beautiful/private wooded area, very friendly locals, great winery within walking distance, lots of hiking trails to pick from, cabin has massive potential to be A stay Cons: front door has a hole in it, back door doesn’t lock, hot tub has broken jets and doesn’t really get hotter than bathtub, needs a a new cleaning crew. Coming into the cabin with beads, chips, dead bugs on floor was not ideal

The location was great! The cabin was BEAUTIFUL with an excellent view (would be nice if the trees were trimmed back a little but that won’t stop us from booking here again!) the coffee pot took a very long time to brew and the hot tub took a while to heat up so plan accordingly lol (thankfully they had turned the hot tub on for us so I’m sure it cut some time down but we weren’t able to get in it until the following day). A small price to pay though! Again, these things will not deter us from booking this cabin again!!! Five of us girls give five stars each for this rental!!!

Clean cabin
We went to celebrate high school and college graduation of family. Bring eye mask or you will be woken up at sun rise as cabin windows are lovely yet ultra bright when sleeping in loft or living room. There aren’t many places to stay to accommodate 5 adults so this was our only affordable place. Pros: Location was close to activity Hot tub was body saver Wonderful views from hot tub Clean Had kitchen essentials No shampoos, conditioner or body so make sure to bring your own Close to winery right up road Cons Bed frame broken on main level. Very noisy when attempting to sleep. Was told they have no maintenance person so live with it or get out. Hook for towels by shower is placed so high it was unusable. Could not use as no one in our party was over 5.3’ and could not reach hook even on tip toes so we had to put towels on floor which none us wanted to do but had no other choice. Bed upstairs was so firm that woke up every morning with pain Entrance landing wood piece are pulling away from frame so we were very careful to have only one person standing for fear of falling through. Make sure to have an SUV or you aren’t getting out of drive way. We had family come see us in a Camry and they couldn’t get out. We had to have other family come pull them out with truck. If beds were replaced, shower hooks lowered and front entrance fixed it would a great place to stay.

Restful retreat
My husband and I own a winter business so we like to escape to a quiet restful place. Plus it is our anniversary week! There is several delicious restaurants in the area and plenty of beautiful scenery. Mostly we stay put in the house and relax. We had a few visitors: 2 box turtles, lunar moth, woodpecker, brown thrush and cardinal! We enjoyed a campfire one night and the hot tub most nights. The driveway was a bit tricky to get in to but we have a large truck. We managed. We would rent this house again but we move around to see different parts of the country! Beautiful view!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cabin was perfect. Great scenery. Enjoyed the walking paths in Tell City and Winzerwald winery. Hot tub was great to watch sunset with glass of wine. Very relaxing stay.

Our stay was perfect! The view was amazing, watching the sunset from the hot tub was beautiful! The cabin was very very clean and well equipped with everything you could need! We took a short walk to the Celtic cross which was beautiful and right up the road was the winery! It was very secluded but a short drive to town if you need. I will be staying here again in the future!

Great for girls getaway weekend!
The view from the deck was lovely, and the floor plan worked perfectly for our group. We could all lounge in the living room or eat together, but we were still able to retreat to the bedrooms when we wanted to nap or read. We couldn’t get the hot tub as warm as we’d have liked, but it was cold outside, so that’s probably to be expected. We’ll keep this cabin on our short list for future getaways!

Thanksgiving getaway
We had the most relaxing Thanksgiving weekend at this perfect, tidy A-frame cabin. Cozy little hot tub, piles of clean linens, and everything we needed to cook dinner in (when we didn't feel like cooking, McMario's delivered pizza right to our door). The view can't be emphasized enough - woodsy, river landscapes all around, with lights twinkling off of the water at night.

Perfect weekend getaway
We had a great weekend here! Enjoyed the hot tub, roasted s’mores and hot dogs on a fire in the backyard. Perfect size for the group of us 6. Had all kitchen and bedroom and bathroom necessities! So peaceful and quiet, loved it.

Perfect Cabin
My sister and I came to the Cannelton area to research our genealogy. This cabin was the perfect spot to organize our paperwork and was an easy drive to the Tell City library. The design and layout of the cabin provided us with plenty of space while fitting in well with the surrounding woods. The hot tub was the best place to unwind and enjoy the stars at night and the water views during the day. There was only one working jet in the hot tub which we didn’t mind and the temperature was usually 101-103 which was also fine for us. We did have to be careful in the driveway due to our lower riding car and ruts from the rain but again we were able to manage. We’d highly recommend this cabin and hope to return in the future.

We had the BEST stay at this cabin! It was our 16yr anniversary and we decided to try something new, so we left the kids at home and drove 5.5hrs to this beautiful, secluded, extremely clean, peaceful cabin. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at a local restaurant and then spent the remainder of our trip nestled in and enjoying the hot tub. The views from the deck are beautiful, but the sunrise casting a beautiful enchanting light are just incredible. We cannot wait to go back!! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

The property was perfect. Big spacious area inside and out. Clean through out cabin. Beautiful views. Secluded and very private from other cabins that were around. Lots of trails and state parks within a short 10 minute drive so that was a plus. Hot tub did not seem to get hot quick enough but was enjoyable. Also could not figure out how to refill hot tub with water. Wi-Fi would be a plus but everyone can go a few days without it. Easy directions through mapquest made it pretty simple to get there. Brad, owner, was easily accessible with any questions that I had. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thanks.

I really liked that it was tucked away, quit and i really liked that they had direct tv available, that made for a very nice add on. The bed were comfortable and the bathroom was nice and big. All around my stay was great and i hope to make it back there again.

My friend and I wanted to reconnect after many years of life taking our paths separate ways. We looked around online and the cabin on Blue Heron Lane looked to be exactly what we wanted. It did not disappoint. The cabin was clean, comfortable and the wooded get away we needed.

This A-frame cabin overlooks the creek and has plenty of space for two couples to spread out and enjoy. Property has everything you need for a long-term stay. Fire pit and hot tub add to the ambience. Very responsive manager.

Overall stay was OK
The property itself was in a good location overlooking the Ohio River. Much more rustic than I was expecting, which was not an issue for our group. We were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the property. I think we all understood that this was a property in the woods and complete cleanliness should not be expected, but the home was filled with dust that’s been collecting for months. I would recommend this property to others if there was more attention to fully cleaning between stays.

Perfect Getaway
My husband and I with our 2 adult sons spent a great weekend away. We wanted to spend a weekend together before the holidays began. The cabin was fantastic, so clean and decorated beautifully. The view was awesome & so serene. We sat in the hot tub under the stars & relaxed. There were no other cabins near us it was just our family. We saw some wildlife from our deck which was up high. It was perfect & exactly what we were looking for.

The one minor issue was when we opened the futon there were lots of crumbs and debris and dog hair around but overall very nice if we get a chance we would def. stay and recommend

Great view, great location, New cleaner needed!
The location of this property was excellent. The cabin is adorable, the privacy is fantastic and the views are incredible. The cleanliness of the cabin was unacceptable. The shower was filthy, floors were not well swept, dust/cob webs with friendly spiders and the most exciting part, roaches snacking on food under the loft beds! Cheers! After speaking with the owner, I had intentions of leaving a great review. Until the cleaning lady sat outside of our cabin in her vehicle smoking, staring at us for 2 HOURS before our departure time, waiting for us to leave. RUDE!

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry about your experience. We have several cabins in the area and housekeeping does set away from the cabin on a vacant lot so they know when one opens up. We have 4 hours to turn the cabins so that is why she does that. Not to set and watch you, but as a parking spot in the shade waiting for the next guest to leave. Guest check out at all different times up until 11. Sorry if that made you uncomfortable. The cabins are sprayed regularly. It is a cabin setting in the middle of the forest and we take precautions. I talked to the cleaning lady atbout your all your concerns. We usually get very positive reviews as you can see by the ratings. Thanks again for for taking time to review it.

The hot tub and the beautiful view made this trip amazing! Such a quiet place to relax and recharge. I also loved that there were so many available sleeping spots. We used the futon and the foldout bed the whole trip because they were so comfortable. I didn't like the steepness of the driveway. It was very hard to get out of but after a couple attempts I made it even with my old van. We will definitely visit again!

Great view
Great view. Road and drive were very steep and we weren't aware. Hot tub was amazing. The house could use some more kitchen items to be considered fully stocked, there was no dishwasher detergent to run load of dishes. Also, just a little upkeep to the place would have made it exceptional. Overall it was a convenient stopping place for our spring break.

The cabin was just beautifully situated with a great view in every direction! Cozy, but spacious enough for mom, kids, and grandparents. Hot tub and seating on the deck were our favorites. Beautiful water, hills, and trees no matter where you look.

The cabin was very clean and the hot tub was great. The kitchen supplies were limited and the upstairs full bed was uncomfortable. The bed in the bedroom was much better.
