Our room was huge with all amenities; the grounds were magical and the staff attentive to every need. We can't wait to return on future visits to Spain.
Fantastic, clean rooms, beautiful property & surroundings, very interesting & impressive. Also great, accommodating staff! Wish it was closer to us, as we’d visit several times each year!
Beautiful Parador to visit! Historical arquitectura, comfortable, clean with a view rooms! Staff is super friendly and helpful with information to share with visitors. Much learning about wine at the place next to the Parador as well! Highly recommend! Will return, muchas gracias!
Made to feel very welcome by staff and were very helpful
Bar and restaurant was excellent
Rooms were very spacious and clean
Overall an excellent few days
Such an amazing, unique spot to stay at. The hotel was quiet and clean. They've preserved its history, which you can enjoy in the hallways, gardens, and museum. The restaurant had some of the most delicious food we encountered on our 9-day trip throughout Spain, and it was authentic to the area. The staff was friendly and helpful.
I brought a group of friends to the Monasterio hotel as I had visited there 3 years ago. We were not disappointed. It is a fabulous hotel with a wealth of interesting features. The quality of the service is very high. My friends were pleased immensely with their stay in this wonderful venue.
Wonderful Parador in huge 18th C monastery. Superbly restored, big, well equipped rooms. Fabulous old library. Excellent restaurant. Big car park. Surrounding area very scenic. An hour or so drive to Oviedo.
Incredible service from arrival with all the welcome information for your stay prepared and printed in your language.
The building is a former monastery and very spacious with its own unique history. Many parts of the hotel display links to that history including underground archeology now incorporated as a museum next to the underground car park, a very interesting encounter.
Free parking both outside and within the secure basement car park.
Historic large monastery in the middle of nowhere, the archaeological display, monk’s cell, the reading room and the library are interesting and good to visit, but apart from going on a nature trail or booking a wine sampling, there isn’t much going on around here. They’ve taken the monastery theme to the extreme in the rooms - the monk’s cell had more useful furniture, but the bathrooms are very nice.
Intended to eat dinner in the restaurant, but having been told to pick any table, we were then told very firmly to move, as that one had been laid for three! So we did, to exactly the same size table on the other side of the room. We then waited to order, but no one came with any offer of a drink or bread for over 25 minutes, so we left and had virtually the same meal in the bar! Told the lady on reception about this experience but she wasn’t interested.
We ate in the courtyard outside the bar, on the second night and as both the barmen and the very hard working waitress were lovely and helpful, we had a very nice meal in good time.
Very nicely updated property. Clean and comfortable. Customer service was great. Lots of photo ops within the hotel and great history.
Given the quality of the hotel I was surprised with the bar. Very limited selection. Not the one to order a martini.
We had a bad experience at the breakfast restaurant and could not eat. Ordered eggs Benedict and had to be returned. Order scrambled eggs and 35 mins later neither had arrived. Service was apologetic and comped the rest of it.
Wine tasting next door is “meh”
The monastery turned hotel is located close to a small town but in a very picturesque area.
Wine tasting next door was “meh”. Tasted three wines for 10€
Ample parking.
Would definitely recommend as it was an amazing place steeped with history.
The room was very impressive with seating area and immaculately clean.
We also loved the restaurant with excellent à la carte menu.
Stunning property in historic monastery with a great restaurant serving local inspired food of great quality. My only criticism would be that the bar could be much much nicer. It seems to be a bit of an after thought.
The parador is an excellent place to stay for a relaxed stay. If you are looking for a peaceful and away from noise vacation, this is it! Rooms and bathroom are very comfortable, simple but luxurious, spacious and quiet!
Restaurant is exquisite and breakfast, just great! Highly recommend!
