Pros: it was easy and clean
Cons: respond to a request to fix item in room
Location: great location for me only stayed the night
the bar fridge didn't work they had the door open and a towel in it ( I think they were defrosting it ) when I asked them they didn't know and would send someone up to look at it I went out on my returned it was the same , not good service I would say. Apart from that it was a nice place to stay.

Location of hotel okay

Posted 01-May-2017
Other guests partying until 5am in the morning and no staff or security on-hand to assist. Had to listen to filthy language all night whilst having my wife and children in the room until 5am. No offer of any money return or anything. paid for a room to sleep and got none.

Just what we needed

It is close to the shops (Woden). Great place for food and drinks. Easy to locate. A hotel in the suburbs which makes you feel like a local.

3 out of 5 but great staff

Posted 19-Apr-2017
I'll concentrate on the negatives only because if you can tolerate my evaluation then you should be relatively happy. Nothing terrible to report except the extremely long check in queues. Ibis Styles has a lot of rooms so the queues are long. With only 2 check in terminals I estimated the wait for the worst times was well over 30mins. And the queues were relentless over the 2 days I was there. Keep in mind it was Easter. But also keep in mind it would be busy at this class of hotel most of the year. I stayed at the front hotel section 2 doors from the top of the stairs. Ask for rooms further from the stairs because it's the noisiest part of the floor. Everyone has to come up and down those stairs. Its also right beside the function rooms which can get busy and loud, almost all day of they are being used. These front of hotel rooms also have windows opening straight out over the hotel entrance. That means noise and nosy people.I love balconies and windows that open because I like the fresh air over air conditioning. But the Windows at the front of the hotel have zero privacy. Unfortunately, the blocky design of the place means almost every room looks out onto the driveways and parking spaces. Not a deal breaker, just a negative. When the place is full be prepared to park at the back of the hotel in a large open parking lot style gravel covered piece of dirt. Not a deal breaker just inconvenient, dark and dirty of it rains. Pillows are tiny and ineffective.

Pros: We had a family room. The room was clean and tidy. Buffet breakfast was included. A short car drive to Parliament House, War Memorial, Questacon.
Location: Location was great. A short car ride to everything.
We stayed 4 days at the this hotel. We had a very comfortable stay.

Good location

Posted 11-Apr-2017
Pros: Location, good breakfast
Cons: updating and repairs
Location: All the sights
Asked for a room change as our room was noisy, ie near entrance hall. The new room unfortunately required some maintenance.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for taking the time for a review of the Hotel. We are indeed fortunate to be in such a great location, so close to the attractions and right next door to both Manuka and Kingston. Thanks again, Debbie Sheilds, Guest Experience Manager

The best we could get for our money

Posted 03-Apr-2017
Pros: The staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, we're really happy with our experience
Cons: The hotel has some issues with parking (probably due to its popularity)
Location: The hotel very close to all museums in Canberra, pretty much everything is within 10min drive
The interior of our room was relatively simple, but everything looked very new and clean. The facilities (bar and restaurant) were amazing, we really enjoyed our breakfast, coffee and occasional glasses of wine

Noise from hallways easily travel into rooms. Curtains not hung properly so did not cover all of the window so room is lit early in the morning.

Great value, very clean, comfortable and a great breakfast. Very slow checking in with only one staff member on reception. Had to wait 20 minutes.

Dear Bronwen, Thank you for your kind comments regarding our Hotel. Our Front Office Manager has been forwarded your remarks, 20 minutes is far too long and for that we apologise. That aside, do trust we'll see you again in the future. Debbie Sheilds, Guest Experience Manager
