Good location but not 4 star.

Posted 01-Sep-2016
Pros: Staff are pleasant
Cons: Housekeeping and maintenance get together before the rooms deteriorate even more.
Location: Location is good for two nice shopping centers that have great restaurants...Manuka and Kingston. Near to parliament triangle. Pete's Golf is nearby
We checked into our room and started to unpack.. Opened the bathroom door and the toilet was running and one of two bathroom lights were out. A pleasant member of staff came worked on the toilet and changed the light bulb. He did say we could change rooms if we wanted. We declined as we had unpacked. Later the toilet got worse and was running loudly, the clasp on the toilet roll holder was broken and toilet paper exploded all over the floor, the handle on the bathroom door was half broken, the exhaust fan was so noisy and cold and the shower floor was dangerous as it was so slippery. The tea cups had no saucers. Operating the TV required a keyboard, a remote and a long list of laminated instructions and an IT degree!!. We have been in hotels from Tashkent to NY and have never had such a complicated experience to turn on a TV to watch just free to air. Maybe we should have changed rooms in hindsight, however the hotel was very full with a car club conference and so we thought we would be relegated to the second floor and there are no lifts, just stairs.

Overnight stay

Posted 29-Aug-2016
Room clean, when booked was to have double and 2 single beds but had not replaced bunk with single and they had not made bunk bed. One leg missing off fridge. Had to park away from room - Car club was there filling car park. Had to pay extra for hot beakfast, normal choices but coffee bad.

Just OK

Posted 04-Aug-2016
Pros: Location was good for what we were doing in Canberra
Cons: Heating, television
Location: Close to Manuka and discount shopping centre
Heating in the room was particularly inefficient and the television operating system using a keyboard was quite difficult to use. The room was very small for a family of 5.

Cozy but noisy

Posted 18-Jul-2016
Pros: Nice location, comfy bed and pillows, strong water flow in shower, great selection of movies.
Cons: Perhaps the hotel could install devices that prevent doors from slamming loudly. Alos, windows to be deadlocked, especially on ground floor
Location: A short drive to Manuka cafes, City centre, Woden, Queanbeyan and Fyshwick factory outlet shopping. Great spot for day trips in all directions
Overall the hotel is cozy and in a lovely location, but there was a lot of noise that disrupted my sleep several times during my second night there. Young children crying, other guests yelling, doors slamming all night and one very loud slam at 3am that caused me to be wide awake for an hour. I've stayed here before and didn't have a problem with noise. Shower heads give out a decent strong water flow. Beds and pillows are very comfy. The tv system is a little confusing and my movies kept stopping every 25mins or so, tried calling reception for help but noone answered. The selection of movies is great, though.
