Welcome to our Red River Farmhouse, right next to Wolf/Campton Lake, with easy access to Red River Gorge! The sound of goats baaa-ing will greet you as you pull into the driveway (Seasonal - March through Nov). They're a little spoiled, and love to be hand-fed! FAST fiber internet with GIG speeds! Stream away on all our TVs and enjoy Disney+, HBO Max, Showtime, YouTube TV, Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Peacock premium, and Paramount, and all your local TV stations with unlimited DVR. Never miss a sunrise or sunset from any side of our house on our wrap-around deck on 4 acres of land. Enjoys smores and a hot dog over our firepit, or just relax with a glass of wine or Corona in the rocking chairs on the front porch. The possibilities are endless! Did the trails get your clothes dirty? Don't worry, we have TWO sets of washers and dryers, one upstairs and one on the main level. The master is on the main with an en suite bath. There's an additional master upstairs with a queen bed and a full over full bunk bed as well as an en suite bath. The half bath is upstairs along with 2 other bedroom, each with one queen bed. All bedroom mattresses are memory foam, and they are comfy! The common area/TV room upstairs has a sleeper sofa that can accommodate more guests. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook, bake, blend, and make coffee to make yourself at home. We have 3 smart TVs: Upstairs common area, main level living room, and main level master bedroom. You can cast content from your phone to any of our TVs or you can enjoy the services that we subscribe to. YouTube TV is what we use for cable TV. It has all the local channels, live sports, and on-demand programming.
You're not obligated to feed the goats, but if you want to, you can cut up fresh apples and carrots for them. Feed them on the RIGHT side of our barn. DO NOT touch the fence on the left side or the far right side where the electric fence says "Danger, High Voltage."
Goats are seasonal. Due to extremely cold temperatures in the months of December, January, and February, the goats will not be on site.
We love animals, but please keep muddy paws off the beds. A separate $50 pet fee per stay will be charged during the week of check-in. Unauthorized pets will be charged $250 per stay.
We're just a couple minute drive from the Sav-A-Lot grocery store, Subway, gas stations and Mountain Parkway. We're also walking distance to the beautiful Campton Lake.
This is the wilderness, so don't be alarmed if you see some critters here and there, but if anything becomes a nuisance, or if there's an infestation, please alert me ASAP.
DO NOT flush anything other than our septic-safe toilet paper. Houses/cabins around Red River Gorge are all on septic. These systems cannot drain like city sewer and will easily clog if paper towels, tampons, fruit peels, etc. get in there. Once clogged, any use of water, including from the toilets, sinks, and showers, will flood the home and result in a very unpleasant vacation. Whether you stay with us or at another house/cabin, please keep this in mind.
Base price of home is set at a flat fee for 6 guests. We can allow up to 12 guests. Each guest beyond the base 6 people will be charged $20/person/night. These fees will be automatically calculated by VRBO during the checkout process.

Great location for the family. The lower floor was perfect for our elderly parents since everything they needed was on one floor. The walk-in shower was a true bonus. The family really enjoyed the place and all the things to do in the area. Feeding the goats was really cool. Would recommend the place to anyone for a relaxing getaway.
Great house! Lots of space for kiddos, well stocked with basics, beds comfortable, and the goats are just fun! Only caveat is that sound seems to travel throughout the house—bring white noise if you have people sleeping at odd times!
We had a great time at the farm house. My son loved visiting and feeding the goats. It was a short drive to trails for hiking and we enjoyed kayaking. House was as advertised and it was very easy to contact the host and they were quick to respond. : )
Our family ages 2 to 60 enjoyed the Red River Farmhouse for 5 nights. It was big enough for all of us. The yard was perfect for games and kids loved the goats. Most activities were within 20 minutes. The hostess was quick to answer our questions.
This home is so peaceful and quiet! We spent so much time on the front porch rocking away while my grandchildren played in the lovely front yard and feeding the goats💕. I have never stayed in a rented home that was as well stocked in the kitchen as this one. The beds were comfy and the master shower felt wonderful. We had fires every evening and roasted smores. Lovely!
Overall our group had a great stay at the farmhouse. The house was clean and all needed supplies were provided as the listing said. There were plenty of games inside as well as lots of outdoor space around the property. Traveling to and from Red River Gorge and surrounding trials was easy as the parkway was easily accessible from the house.
My kids were obsessed with the goats. They were sweet and gentle.
The place is clean and cozy. Our family was able to relax. Great kitchen to cook with everything you need.
There’s a lake 1 minute away where we kayaked and fished. You can cook s’mores by the fire. The hiking was 15 minutes away and amazing views.
The host responded to all my questions so fast!
When we left my family was asking when we could come back.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse! There was plenty of space for the “full time” 5 adults and 2 kids, plus an extra 2 adults and 3 kids at meals and playtime.
The kitchen is spacious and well stocked; we used it to prepare all of our family meals. The fire pit was large enough to accommodate our whole family with space to spare and the kids enjoyed making some tasty s’mores over the campfire. The location is convenient to any number of hiking spots and other attractions. The friendly goats, always looking for a handout, were a ‘hit’ with both kids and adults.
We had a great time climbing at the Red and using this house as our home base. The host is super responsive and easy to communicate with and we found the location extremely convenient.
One word of caution for light sleepers in the master bedroom - the floorboards above are very creaky. Creaks from the footsteps of family in the room above woke me up every time and it was my bad luck that they were frequent middle of the night bathroom users and extreme early risers! The furnace is also housed in a closet in the bedroom and it’s pretty loud when it’s fired up. Not a big issue at night since we kept the temp down.
Very Cute place - we had plenty of room for 10 adults. It was very clean -
a couple of things:
* outdoor furniture could be updated - the home has great outdoor space that could be used more if a little more comfortable.
to be fair - it rained the whole time we were there so we were not able to use the fire pit - so the deck would have been a great option for us to use.
* beds were very firm! not sure if good or bad - no tvs in the room - this would be a nice option.
* we had no idea that the dishwasher was clean when we arrived - it was full - we basically hand washed our cups, ( we did not really cook in the house) therefore we did not open the dishwasher until we were leaving - so we had no idea until the last day - so we thought that the kitchen was not equiped.
Overall, cute, comfortable, clean home -
the goats were fun to feed!
This was our first family vacation. Overall we enjoyed staying here. There were a couple issues. First two drawer handles in the kitchen and diningroom fell apart into pieces when we tried to open them. Second, the upstairs washer and dryer didn’t work. Third, the butcher block island had a sticky film to it. And fourth the lake was not across from the road. You needed to drive the kayaks down the road and up a steep hill so we didn’t use them. However, the bedrooms were nice and comfortable and there was lots of outdoor sitting all around the balcony and out by the fire. Our young grandchildren loved feeding the goats at least more than once a day. I would give this rental an 8 out of 10. Thanks to the owner for answering all my questions along the way.
What a great place! Our crew loved to come home after work and relax at this property. It was also very easy to get in touch with the host. I would definitely recommend the property to anyone else!
Tracy was amazing! We booked the night before arriving and the communication was excellent. Very nice home with lots of grass for our dogs to run. We loved the ground floor of the home as it had everything we needed!
We loved feeding the goat carrots every day. Everything was great and anytime I had a question I had an answer very fast. Having the ability to use kayaks was the main reason we booked it however it just ended up not working out that we went kayaking this trip maybe next time.
We loved every minute of this trip. 12 people, 3 families all fit comfortably in the farmhouse while enjoying the many amenities included in this awesome rental! Feeding the goats, sitting by the huge fire pit, star gazing laying in the hammock, swimming and kayaking in campton lake all without leaving the area aims the farmhouse. Then we thoroughly enjoyed many hikes (natural bridge, sky bridge, rock bridge, whistle arch, broke leg falls, creation falls, and jump rock) and the local eateries (Miguels, Red Point BBQ, The Brick, and Boone Coffee Shoppe). The staff at The Red River Gorge General Store were hospitable guides that provided priceless information. We also really enjoyed the mini golf and sweet treats at this location. Finally the highlight of our trip, don't miss the underground crystal kayak tours, an experience you can't get anywhere else!
The Red River Farmhouse was a perfect getaway/meeting place for our family. The grandkids loved the sheep and the upper deck. The cool temps and rain limited outside time so they played on the upper deck all day long. The location is close to The Gorge Underground and the family had a great experience. In fact, the family all said they would come here again!
Stayed here with our kids and grandchildren and had a good time. The grandchildren were a little disappointed at first when they found out the sheep would not be there, but they had fun with all the activities. We went hiking, fishing, kayaking and one day drove over to Cave Run to enjoy the lake on a pontoon boat. The kids enjoyed making their hotdogs and smores over the firepit. We stayed up late playing games, talking and laughing. It was a fun family vacation!
We searched for a property that 3 families (Florida, Michigan, and New York) could reasonably drive to for Christmas. And we found the perfect place! House was big enough for us to be comfortable together and have separate spaces too. We loved feeding the sheep, finding short hikes for exploring, and the general beauty of the area even in winter. With Covid rampant, we loved being remote and feeling safe. We planned for at-home meals and were pleasantly surprised with the kitchen amenities. Be aware there are not many restaurants or grocery stores nearby so plan accordingly. Tracy was an excellent communicator and even allowed us to put up a small Christmas tree for the kids. A most memorable holiday!
We were looking to stay near Red River Gorge to spend a few days away for my husband’s 45th birthday. The property is very well kept, clean, and very thoughtfully decorated. The dual wrap around deck provides plenty of outdoor shelter and even has one side enclosed with outdoor furniture to enjoy the outside while avoiding the bugs at night or eating dinner. If you are traveling with children or a herd of elephants, you may consider choosing an upstairs bedroom. Otherwise you will hear everything going on above you from the downstairs bedroom. Other than the internal acoustics, we were very pleased with Tracy and her husband who were both extremely helpful and accommodating. Would stay with them again, very well recommended.
