Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
I was amazed of how clean the place was and that we were able to prep and cook our own meals.
The grounds were beautiful and having the game room upstairs and the covered decks when it’s raining outside was awesome. We plan on coming back to Kentucky in the future and I will definitely be renting one of their cabins again.
Clean, cozy and country. Wooded just right with campfire or hot tub.

Cabin off the beaten path
This cabin is about 10 miles from Natural Bridge. It's well equipped with all amenities. A bit disappointed with the grill and fireplace, but games in the loft were nice addition. A bit noisy with the floor, but good for a couple nights stay.and int
The back deck with a hot tub opens out into the woods. Really feels like you're part of the forest! Very spacious parking and perfect bonfire area.
Has everything and is very Peaceful. Our toddler loved running around upstairs in the game room.
Cabin was spotlessly clean when we arrived and it was well stocked with everything you could ask for. The beds were comfortable and the game room upstairs was a nice area to relax.
I would recommend an all wheel drive vehicle as the road leading up the hill to get to the house is gravel and fairly steep.
Overall we were very pleased.
I have nothing but great things to say about the cabin and the staff at the Natural Bridge Cabin Company. The cabin's amenities were just as described and as the photos showed. It is very spacious. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I was surprised by the number and variety of kitchen tools which was great. It was super peaceful and we saw some deer, lizards, and a friendly kitty. I would highly recommend this cabin and the company!
Our stay was amazing. It was secluded for privacy. Was extremely clean and peaceful. We were able to sit in the hot tub and on the porch for peaceful relaxation. Had the opportunity to go do activities if wanted but chose to relax in the cabin. Only negative was emailed the managers before hand for a possible early check in and never received a response. Everything worked out but would have been nice to hear back. We will definitely be visiting again!
We tried to explore the road the house was on but there was a house with 3 dogs off the leash who were always barking and the house up the hill was noisy as well. We did not stay in the whole time, but the time we did stay, it was quite noisy. Other than that, the house was fine for a family with kids.
The property and location are excellent, not as secluded as I thought, but still very private. Well kept and maintained property. The shower is a bit small but works as it should. Everything you need as far as household goods. Would probably stay again.
Terrible experience! We stayed in “The Great Escape”. My first issue was being told that someone would be in the office at 3pm to check us in if the cabin was clean (it was). The lady and another gentleman did not show up until almost 4. During check in, the lady advised that upon check out we would need to load our trash up in our vehicle and drive it all the way back to the office to the dumpster as they do not want trash left inside the cabin. This should be taken care of by the cleaning crew or have a place to leave it outside the cabin. I have never been asked to do this at any vacation rental I have stayed in. The air conditioning unit upstairs leaks water onto whomever is sitting on the couch below, and the flooring in the bathroom is in terrible condition and coming up. This brings me to the very worse part of the stay! My sons foot went completely through the deck and he was injured and badly bruised. I contacted Debbie, the owner and she took my information for the cabin owner and she then proceeded to ask me if I had plans to file a lawsuit. Debbie then offered a small refund for the “inconvenience”. The next day she contacted me to inform that the owner watched his surveillance footage and determined that “a man walking a dog” most likely my husband actually fell through the deck and initially broke the board the day before as if this made matters any better. It doesn’t matter who initially stepped on the board and broke it, the owner’s negligence led to a rotten deck board that fell through with a guest and caused injuries that could have easily broken his leg. I will never ever rent from this company again nor would I recommend them to anyone else! Horrible experience.
Everything was great. Hot tub was nice after a day of hiking, beds were comfortable, and kitchen was stocked with what we needed. There’s a save a lot grocery store a couple of miles away just in case you forget something.
Centrally located to activities. Very comfortable furniture, beds and peaceful setting. Relaxing hot tub, nice after a day of hiking, zip lining, kayaking and swimming. Very nice management. Convenience of washer, dryer and dishwasher.
Would stay here again!
Our stay was wonderful! Plenty of space for two couples to enjoy a long weekend. Beds were comfortable. The hot tub was more spacious than we expected. The highlight was the shuffleboard table upstairs! Hours of fun, even though we never quite figured out the rules :) We would definitely return for our next stay in the area.
Had a great overall stay. Check in was quick and easy. Cabin was clean and cozy. Property is gorgeous but hilly and wasn’t great for a small child but he enjoyed it non the less. Area is beautiful with lots of trails for hiking. Was a little concerned in the drive up with the properties along the road but was all that is listed and more. Just be sure to check your junk email for check in instructions. I didn’t see it and had to inquire day before the trip, but got a very quick response from our contact. 5* highly recommend (also didn’t see a single cockroach as mentioned in previous reviews, was very clean).
I'll be brief because I wish to wash my hands of this horrible trip. Natural Bridge Cabin Company (who owns and manages this property) will not provide timely or accurate information, nor do they actually care about your vacation experience. Don't even expect common courtesy from Debbie. Do NOT use the coordinates linked in the VRBO listing. Do check your junk mail. Awful. Just awful. I'm not sure if it was next to a junk yard or just the most cars I've ever seen in someone's lawn? The water also went out day 1. The cabin itself was clean, basic, nothing special. The experience? Go somewhere else. If they can't be hands off it won't be good.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Great Escape. The house was very clean, with well-maintained good quality furniture and appliances. Our young adult sons (and two cousins that visited) really enjoyed the "teen/game room" upstairs, and we all enjoyed the back porch and the hot tub. If we're ever in that area again we'd be happy to stay there. I feel comfortable recommending this to anyone... again, it was really clean and in good condition!
