Great hosts they were very responsive to questions. Incredible views. The wildlife on the property included Moose and Elk. Close enough to Yellowstone and the Grand Teton National Parks. Great vacation spot to relax and take in the scenery.
This house was rustic and relaxing in all the right ways. Has everything you need while getting away from it all, with magnificent views. We loved the proximity to Ennis, Yellowstone and Big Sky. Owner was very communicative and helpful. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed our week long stay at this beautiful home in Sun West Ranch. We spotted a black bear twice on the ranch and a large herd of elk on the mountain. The birds and ground squirrels were a treat. We could also hear the coyote yelping in the middle of the night. The home is gorgeous and roomy. We had an adventurous week driving into Yellowstone and we went fly fishing in The Madison. We went to the rodeo in West Yellowstone and whitewater rafting on The Gallatin River in Big Sky. We even drove back to Bozeman for some shopping and good food. Speaking of good food, the Grizzly restaurant is a must, if hungry for a great dinner! We appreciate the opportunity to stay in such a place and experience the gorgeous state of Montana again.
Great property, great layout, on the Madison which is incredible. Can't say enough nice things about the place. If we make it back to Montana, we'll stay again for sure!
We had a wonderful stay! The house was exactly what we needed and was everything we could’ve asked for. The views were spectacular! It was very well maintained and furnished. The kitchen was fully equipped and we were more than satisfied! We had a wonderful Montana experience!
Reed and his family have a fantastic place. We felt right at home. Clean and organized house, located in a prime area to fish the Madison River. Thank you!!
I loved the property because it’s off the beaten path . But not far from anything you need as far as groceries etc. The pictures don’t do it justice, it’s a great property and I highly recommend it!
Loved the cabin! The Architecture and of the cabin was superb! Very unique. The scenery was fantastic . We enjoyed the beauty of the river and fishing. We will be back with our entire family.
Thanks Reid for all your help and info.

Beautiful ranch style remote home
Very nice home but in a remote area .Be prepared to stop in Ennis and do grocery shopping for a few days since it's 30 miles away from the home .We never saw any animals on the property and the Madison River is not as close to the home as the pictures dictate .Lovely quiet days and peaceful nights surround this ranch and about 45 minutes to West Yellowstone.
The house is amazing! Location was great, views were just what we wanted, house was just what was expected. We did have an issue with the hot water however the owner was easy to each, responded right away and offered a temporary solution as well as fixed it permanently the next day. The house is about 40 min to Yellowstone which was perfect for us, we would pack a lunch and grab dinner in West Yellowstone, either at a restaurant or picked up stuff at the two markets in West Yellowstone.
beautiful location but needs quite a bit of maintenance and upkeep to be A+. Some lighting and water issues and washing machine did not work. Outside gutters needed repair and landscaping needed attention.
We have stayed here many times over the years and enjoyed it every time. This is the perfect place to experience coastal Maine. The cottage is comfortable and private. The 180 degree view can be seen from almost everywhere in the house. Plenty of deck and outside space, covered gazebo with gas grill. Owners are very friendly and attentive to any needs in the cottage. Walking distance to Erica's Seafood and the Dolphin Restaurant. Lots of nice trails and things to do in Harpswell. Makes a great base for exploring other parts of Maine. But, really, with morning coffee on the porch, lobster boats going in and out, and eiders dabbling at the shore, you could stay at the cottage all week and not miss a thing.
We looked for months for a place in Montana we could stay that would be close enough to Yellowstone, yet secluded enough to enjoy peace and quiet. This met all of our expectations and more! The property is surrounded by the most gorgeous views you will find anywhere. We spent a lot of time hiking around the area. The kids enjoyed searching for rocks and exploring the land.
The house itself is huge and so unique. The photos do not do it justice. You will find everything you need as well. It was truly a home away from home. ❤️
We almost didn’t want to tell anyone else how wonderful this house was… may become too booked to be able to rent again! Honestly, if the peacefulness of the surroundings and the architecture of the home don’t move you, you need to check your pulse. Reid was a wonderful host and was very easy to communicate with - he even checked on us after our trip. The kitchen was stocked with the basics and there is never a shortage of nice, hot water. There is even a corn hole game board outside to use - we had a tournament every evening. There is a great little nook/den off of the dining room which is great for reading or taking in the view. When you visit, say hello to Gomer the Gopher who watches the place when you are gone. And if you fly fish, visit the folks at BearTooth Fly Shop. Ally, Ryan and Nancy are the best. Enjoy your stay here, you can’t go wrong!
Gorgeous Views, privacy, wildlife, and great hiking
We had an absolutely blast. We wanted a place far from the tourists and busy of Yellowstone but close enough to still visit the park. The house is literally 3 miles from the main road. Plenty of privacy. We saw elk, moose and coyotes just sitting on the porch. We an elk herd and a bear hiking from the house on the ranch property. It was a memorable experience for our entire group.
The house itself is great. Plenty of kitchen pots and pans, dishes, and other amenities. We bought bear spray but there was already some left behind so you might want to wait to buy any. It is expensive. The view from the dining table was a favorite and we all enjoyed just looking out at the view. Plenty of ground squirrels for entertainment right outside the window. Beds were all comfortable and plenty of sheets and towels. The dishwasher worked fine, although the latch release is broken and hard to push over. Bathrooms were all great and wonderful water pressure. Washer and dryer worked fine as well.
The owners have great communication and made sure we had all the information we needed before arrival. We will definitely stay here again one day and have already recommended the house to friends.
We did several hikes of 2-4 miles just leaving from the house. There are also lots of National Forest hikes nearby. We all enjoyed the Papoose Creek trail. It is about a 2 hr drive to Artist Point, Yellowstone and 1 hr 40 min to Bozeman airport. 30min to Ennis grocery. It's a great place! Just go!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Stunning, unique home to relax in with plenty of local outdoor activities. The fishing on this stretch of river was very fun. Reid was an excellent host, and very communicative. Looking forward to next year!
Beautiful House, Beautiful Ranch, Beautiful Area ...
We had a wonderful stay labor day week at this ranch location that was quiet and convenient. We enjoyed two days in Yellowstone, several days fishing the Madison and being a tourist in Ennis and Virginia City. The house was a great central location for our family of 8 - everyone had a room and we ate great meals looking out the picture windows. The house had all you need for cooking and grilling. Reid was very responsive to questions about the area, sites to see and more -- all in all, got great reviews from the entire family!!!
This home was perfect for our family celebration. It is custom and unique in every detail with incredible views up the Madison River Valley from every room. The private access to fishing on the Madison was a bonus, but the beautiful home was the star. It is truly a work of art.
The location - right on the ocean in a calm bay - made this one of the most beautiful, relaxing vacations I’ve had. Having an excellent restaurant (dog friendly) in walking distance was perfect. We ate there 4 nights, it was so good. The house and cottage are definitely beachy, laid back, and a little dated, but have everything you need. Kitchen is well equipped and having the cottage with another small kitchen was great. Perfect location for kayaking and paddle boarding. Coffee on the deck, or in little sun room if weather was inclement, was perfect to watch all the lobsterman start their day. The yard and grounds are great, lots of space and privacy from neighbors. We discovered we have a sea dog, as she sat on deck smelling the sea air and watching birds and boats for hours. Did a couple local hikes and got a few bike rides in, otherwise didn’t leave the property. Hope to get back to this spot again - highly recommend it.
