About this property
Cottage Close To Sea, Between Portreath And Godrevy
UPDATED Spring 2024 We bought our cottage a few years ago and started with a total house renovation, creating 3 bedrooms and 3 ensuite bathrooms. Now (April 2024) we have just completed another round of improvements – refurbishing rooms, updating where we needed to and including a big freestanding Samsung fridge freezer for all the food and drink needs for families looking to relax and enjoy the excellent produce from the area (and as requested from a 2023 review). Little Nampara is at heart an old, historic cottage with thick granite walls and a big, enclosed garden originally used by the Nurserymen who tended the gardens at the Great Bassett estate, now Tehidy Country Park - which surrounds the cottage. In its day, the estate was owned by one of the richest families in the world and the area still has a feel of grandeur and of carefully sculptured beautiful countryside. Having grown up in Cornwall and nearby, we bought our cottage knowing what a hidden gem the Tehidy area is, combining breath-taking views, Cornwall’s first country park AND - the stunning Atlantic Ocean coastline a mile away at Bassett Cove. The nearby beaches of Portreath and Godrevy offer world class surf and stunning beaches for everyone. In fact the cottage is surrounded by many other exceptional beaches/surf spots including Porthtowan, Chapel Porth, St Agnes and Perranporth. Cornwall’s best towns of Falmouth, St Agnes, St Ives and Penzance are also a short drive away, famed for Art, restaurants, bars, galleries, museums, boat trips, outdoor theatres and many things to keep everyone interested and entertained. Locally there are also many miles of trails, footpaths, cycle paths and lanes – within the local woods, the SW coastal path and beyond – all beginning at our Cottage gates. Tehidy Country Park - Cornwall’s first and best country park is a haven for wildlife and birds in particular - with a large lake (see photo), excellent coffee shop and many miles of cycle trails and paths - within 5 minutes’ walk from the cottage. Little Nampara is also a quiet and tranquil retreat, with a large, enclosed cottage garden, 2 lawns (1 given to wildflowers) a deck and patio which is ideal for both couples and families of all ages. This is our home from home and we have done our best to create a comfortable fun place, although we really bought it because of its special location. The cottage has an updated central heating system, along with high-end wood burner, 3 modern bathrooms (2 showers, 1 bath), hand painted hand-made wood shaker style kitchen, integrated dishwasher, integrated wine and drinks cooler, large brand new Samsung fridge freezer, washing machine, boutique-style decorations and furniture (sofas, armchairs and dining suite for 6), large outside deck with teak table and chairs, BBQ, painted floor boards with quarry tiles throughout. Little Nampara cottage is surrounded by a large garden and has plenty of parking - 2 cars next to the garden and several cars on the gravel drive. Thank you for looking and reading this far!

Lovely Cottage for exploring Cornwall or for a peaceful and tranquil holiday.
This cottage is set in the beautiful surroundings of TehidyPark ideal for walking or for a base to explore Cornwall. There is a private garden, ideal for sitting in the sunshine and there is secure parking. The cottage was clean very well equipped with everything we needed for a for a fantastic relaxing holiday. This is our favourite place to stay in Cornwall and we hope to return soon
Great location for North Cornish beaches while being away from summer crowds
Owner was very helpful and we had a good week. House is the ideal location if you want to play golf, and also good for surfing at Godrevy and St Agnes.
Lovely property next to the golf club. Fab for walks in Tehidy woods and only a stones throw from Portreath or Gwithian beach. Great interior and has everything you need.
Great cottage in super peaceful location for visiting different places in Cornwall and local beaches and restaurants. Great to have 3 bathrooms and enclosed garden. Well decorated throughout and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cottage to others.
We loved our stay in this property, it was so much more than stated in the description. The garden was secure and very lovely we felt completely comfortable letting our dog roam around. He loved it too!
The location was perfect, the beds very comfortable and had everything we needed.
If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in this part of Cornwall we would definitely recommend it. Very comfortable and clean and very happy.

Lovely place, shame about the cleaners
A tale of two halves, firstly, the house, the location, the space, the quietness is perfect; however the company employed to clean and maintain the property have let the owner down on this occasion. It was nothing we couldn’t sort ourselves but things we thought we shouldn’t have to do, such as, there was fluff and hair and pieces of broken glass under the sofa, the fridge hadn’t been cleaned, the washing line was down and the airier was broke, amongst another few small issues. But the cottage is lovely, very homely, the three bathrooms are a big plus and when I mentioned the issues we had with Neill the owner he was very apologetic and contrite about the situation and dealt with it well. But I think this was a one off and no fault of Neill but the people he employs to manage his property. The house and the location is spot on and I would be more than happy to return.

Mixed feelings!
To start with the positives: the cottage has been stylishly decorated; the downstairs is fairly spacious; there are 3 bathrooms; the garden is pleasant and the location is good for proximity to north coast beaches and is quiet all around. When we left an item behind the owner went out of his way to help us retrieve it.
The downsides are that it hadn't been properly cleaned for our stay and the sofas and rug smelt of damp dog. The whole cottage suffers from damp (even on a summer visit), not helped by the lack of functioning extractor fans in 2 of the 3 bathrooms. The kitchen needs better equipment (sharp knives, baking trays, a mixing bowl, more glasses). The washing line needs fixing and the outside furniture a thorough scrub-up or upgrade. 2 of the 3 bedrooms are really cramped, leaving you no space for suitcases.
Finally, for the money you pay we felt it was somewhat tight-fisted to not provide simple basics like soap in the bathrooms (I bought some and left it for the next guests).
In fact, really no effort at all had gone into making it welcoming upon arrival.
Great location - close to everything we wanted to do on our holiday. Nice and quiet. Kitchen well equipped and the lounge had plenty of room to relax in.
A beautiful cottage in the middle of a lovely country park and access to all the wonderful places & beaches Cornwall has to offer within an hours drive. The cottage is a great base and spot on for a week away with the dogs in tow. Second stay here and can’t wait to cone back.
Lovely cottage. Just had a little issue with door key being stiff at times. But managed. The cottage was further from the beach than I thought so could not walk to beach. Although lovely walk from cottage to Tilidy country park
We had a great time staying in the cottage. It has a perfect location for those seeking privacy. The cottage is located right next to the Community golf course and a short distance walk to Tehidy Country which is ideal for dog walks. It is 5 min drive to the village of Portreath with a lovely beach for surfing, exploring a Smugglers Cave and rock pools. If you are interested in hiking the North Cliff coastal path is 40 min walk from the cottage. The cottage itself has a big garden with sun lounges, barbecue and a parking space to fit 2 cars. It has open space kitchen/living space with three bedrooms and 3 en-suite bathrooms. The cottage provided everything we needed to make this stay pleasant! We would definitely come back again!

Wonderful Cottage
Wonderful Cottage with all the facilities you need, all in good working order. Owner was very good with communications. Lovely garden with nice walks on the door step. Godrevy café, which is dog friendly, at the entrance to the beach and the food is great only 5 min drive. Will definitely be returning here again. Thank You Neill for a lovely stay.
Great location, peaceful apart from occasional thwacks of golf ball sounds. Good dog friendly enclosed garden for my 3 dogs. Nice cottage, useful having 3 bathrooms. Easy access to Tehidy park for woodland dog walks and access to coastal path.
Well catered for regarding cooking. Comfortable beds. Could do with a few updates e.g replace washing whirly gig. Really enjoyed our time there.
Unfortunately the cottage smelt, a damp smell. Sofa on one side smelt too..quite a few cobwebs still even though the cleaner had been before we arrived as the kitchen floor was still wet. I know the owner had stated that the cottage is sometimes empty at periods of time so i suggest they get air freshers for every room!

Unfortunately underwhelming
Just had a nice week at the cottage but feel the property in need to some love and attention. Can't deny it's a lovely location (albeit golf course right next to garden and their carpark outside the front gate), country park and beach are lovely and close.
Unfortunately the garden is in need of attention, front lawn overgrown, not a usable space, ugly buddleia growing in side lawn, with decking and outside seating in need of sanding and staining. Check in times changed due to additional cleaning, no problem, didnt expect to have to clean it when we arrived as kitchen unclean. The cottage is in need of refreshing, ie painting and upholstery cleaning.
Bedrooms very comfy, nice to have the 3 bathrooms, and kitchen well stocked with plates, dishes, Pots and pans (glasses and cups need restocking). Would we stay again? Probably not, we have stayed in nicer and paid less.
It is a lovely cottage and I'm sure some tlc could bring it back to how it looks in the pictures.
Had a lovely stay and love this part of Cornwall. The cottage is very cosy . Beds comfortable and lovely showers . Definitely be coming back fingers crossed .
