We arrived late, staff were waiting for us, the room was very clean, the en-suite was also very clean. The beds were so comfortable, I managed a 9hr sleep, when I can’t sleep in my own bed. I would thoroughly recommend.

Ok for a night’s stay
Stayed here for a night. Arrived at about 7pm. Most places were closed. Small town. Saw reviews that talked about the parking so went ahead and parked at the gas station nearby. Fortunate that I didn’t have much luggage. The internet service was down. So no WiFi. Couldn’t use card to pay. Reception was welcoming, with very little English spoken. The bakery opposite is amazing. They open early in the mornings. I would go back there just for that bakery! Room was cozy. Toilet bowl was stained tough. Possible water mark. Overall good for a night’s stay.

Dog friendly and ferry accessible.
Our 2nd time at this hotel. Well placed in a seaside town and with easy access to the ferry ports of Oustraham and Cherbourg

Arrived to find we were the only guests that night. Paid for the room only to find it had a double bed & not the 2 singles specifically requested. Requested what we had booked & were told no twin bed rooms were available at the price paid. Hotel advertises choice of twin or double yet twin not available even though hotel was empty. After having to accept the room, the receptionist switched off all the lights & left for the night leaving us in darkness outside the room Room was small but reasonably comfortable. Bed, even though not what we asked for was comfortable & clean. It could be a future option for us when we use the ferry but don't like being conned by untruthful advertising so won't go back

One night stay
This hotel is easy to find, but the parking is quite a challenge. Only 3 car parking spaces at the front of the hotel. You could park at a Church beside the hotel, the reception lady told us. Steps go up to to second floor is narrow, better bring hand carry. I did not get hot shower probably too many people using at the same time, but my BF got hot water at a later time. The beach is very closed by. We bought some bakery on the way to the beach and ate them on the sea sidewalks.

On the hotels.com it said for 50euros I had a choice of double bed or two singles on arrival I was given a double asked for two singles and said it would be 69E which Ipaid not what it said on the tin ,beds comfortable,and 300m from the Beach

One night ferry stop
We have stayed here several times over the past 4 years. The price was really reasonable at first but steadily risen. Our main moan was that the bathroom door is a sliding one & it was really difficult to slide open. Air conditioning would have been welcomed as the room was quite warm & stuffy. Some extra clothes hanging facilities would be needed for more than a one night stay.

One night stay on way back to uk for early morning ferry @ 8.30 7 minutes away but which was too early for breakfast and arrival at 5.30pm the previous evening was too late for dinner and the bar although looking open, wasn't! Overall not very friendly or helpful

there was no wardrobe, just 3 hangers on a hook behind the door, the shower was very good but the toilet was very cramped, no English speaking news on tv, continental breakfast only,the bar was not open and there was no lounge to sit in.There was only 1 chair in the room. We were on the top floor with no lift so anyone with breathing or walking problems would find it difficult.

A Little Gem
We stayed one night here before getting the ferry to U.K. It was easy to find in a lovely French seaside village with excellent cafes, bars and restaurants very close by. Welcoming staff, clean comfortable accommodation made for a great stay and our dog liked it too. Would definitely return and recommend it. Thank you.

Awesome location! Close walk to the beach, and easy access for the drive up to all the historical sites. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very simple and light but good enough.

its ok but check these things before booking
Leisure trip to Caen etc. The room was comfortable one day stay, but on a second floor. We had to carry our luggage upstairs in narrow stair way, I did request ground floor, so be aware when you book. There was water in the bathroom leak from toilet, we got up early to get the ferry back but no one in reception to inform. Poor Incase of emergency and safety

Small continental hotel
Rooms are small but very clean. Bathroom facilities acceptable and on suite. Breakfast very continental fresh bread, coffee, juice, yogot, cereal, and apple juice. Close to D-Day beaches and ferry. Enjoyed our stay.

Would not suggest this hotel for older people, as there is no elevator and unless you are on the first floor, it can be a difficult narrow set of stairs to climb.The area is very quiet but close by car to the D Day beaches and the lovely city of Bayeux.

We enjoyed the hotel and the adventure
My brother and I enjoyed our stay. It is small room but very adequate for our needs. Very clean. We enjoyed the 7 euro breakfast. Lots of hot coffee, breads and jams. Perfect way to start the day. I would definitely go back. The only negative was having to climb two flights of stairs to the rooms we were given.

Nice room for seeing Normandy Beaches
To see the sights of WWII in Normandy region. Perfectly situated for that. Parking was on street and free. Nice room, restaurants close by. There is wifi here but not in our room. This was the only really bad thing. Had to go to stairwell to get mail.

Quiet place to stay while visiting normandy
Quiet inn off season in a quaint village. Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated.Close to Juno beach. Fantastic meal at the pizzeria. Delicious choc croissant at the patisserie.

D-Day beaches
We took our grandson to the D-Day beaches recently. We stayed at Lion sur Mer at the Hotel Lion sue Mer. The room was small but clean and warm. The shower had good power. The breakfast was simple but good especially the fresh croissants and the delicious coffee.

Lion sur Mer - a pleasant litte SEASONAL hotel
The hotel was OK. It was as I expected it given the other ratings I had read. However, Hotels.com really screwed up. I had booked a 3 night stay and the very night that we arrived, the hotel was closing for the season! I was travelling with my 90 year old Dad and this was a major disaster sinice I had sold him on a trip to the D-Day beaches with a stay right on site. The hotel owners were kind enough to let us stay for the night and provide us a little bit of a breakfast the next morning, but an additional 2 night stay was out of the question as they were closing for the season. We had to retreat to Caen where we booked a hotel through Expedia.

This is a very nice place close to the beach. Maybe the quietest place we've stayed in quite some time. Get the rooms out back #18 or #19. Its like a B&B. Its small and not a lot of amenities but very economical,clean and the owner is there to help. She speaks English fairly well. Restaurants are within feet of the hotel and very good ones are only minutes away. Supermarket within 5 min walk. Std continental breakfast plan is available, nothing fancy.

Room very hot, on the top floor, no lift, and no help carrying up luggage. Disappointing breakfast, no hot cooked food, no fresh fruit .... all self service. Very limited car park space outside.

Just what I wanted
Spent six days "Walking D Day" so was out of the hotel during most of the day. Hotel was just what I needed - clean and comfortable. Read other reviewers who said to have room at back as front rooms overlooked main road/traffic lights. I was on the second floor at front and had windows open all the time. Can't say that the traffic noise bothered me (and, at home, we have little/no traffic noise at all). There was also no problem keeping my bike in the hotel with 24 hour access.

Fun area right on the beach
The room was clean, the shower was huge(for Europe:)) and there were quite a few great places to eat/drink. The bakery down towards the beach makes amazing choquettes with sugar! Also, there is a grocery store just down from the hotel on the same street!:)

Hotêl de Lion-sur-mer is a very clean, safe hotel.
The woman who runs the hotel is a little abrupt, but she is doing this all by herself from what I could see. She does have help with cleaning the rooms, and I actually saw the bedspreads and comforters being removed for cleaning. The towels are thick and clean. The windows work well, and the rooms looks like they have been renovated recently. Kiddy-corner across the street is a great pizza place to eat that serves wonderful salads, crepes, galettes.
