The hostess / owner and her staff are great, friendly and very knowledgable of the history and heritage of Calumet. And Pam is a rockstar! We had the whole home to ourselves (3 couples) but were fortunate to have our host (Pam) prepare a bountiful breakfast each morning and entertain us with stories of Calumet and copper country - including the 100-year old Jewel (home). Pamela made everything easy for us. She responded quickly to our questions. Pamela greeted us on arrival and took us on a tour of the house. There were also snacks waiting for us. She truly tried to pamper us. Staying at the Copper Jewel was much more relaxing than having multiple hotel rooms. Our whole family could sit and visit around the table. Unfortunately, we were only able to stay the one night and missed using many of the features of the house such as the nice back yard where there is a cornhole setup and also the sauna in the basement. We were met by Pam who explained many things about the house and left a contact number if we needed anything. Jess prepared an outstanding breakfast the next morning for the 6 of us staying. Not only is the house beautiful but Pamela is fantastic and very accommodating. She was even insisting we part our motorcycles in the garage as there was rain coming. She personally stopped by to show us everything we needed to know in the house and even put breakfast items in the refrigerator for us to cook up! There are so many interesting things to look at in her home. She is very personable. Pam meets you when you come and then comes back in the morning to make breakfast. She is a great conversationalist and storyteller.
