"We could hear the waves in our room . Our innkeeper was helpful and attentive. We were there on a holiday weekend and his knowledge helped us find some dinner. There was no breakfast, but the market a few miles away provided a good option. "

"Magnolia Inn in Mahone Bay may have opened in 2024, but it’s housed in a beautifully restored historic property dating back to 1879. We were lucky to stay in the master bedroom on the second floor, which featured a spacious, modern bathroom. Each room includes a mini-fridge, smart TV, and Keurig coffee maker for added comfort. The first floor offers inviting shared spaces, including a cozy sitting room, a large dining area, and a quiet library—perfect if you need to get some work done. The entire inn is spotless and thoughtfully organized. Craig, the owner, was incredibly gracious and welcoming, and their summer staff (whose name we sadly forgot) was equally kind and helpful. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to return."

"Great sea view from the new deck. No railings, so adults only. New bathroom was appreciated by all. New 2nd toilet in the laundry room looks like it belongs on the space station. New small BBQ. Dishwasher is a little puzzle as you need to attach it to the sink; some written/photo instructions might be useful for those who have never seen this before.Owners communicated quickly and even dropped something off all the way from Halifax when requested. They also said we are better to bring our own water (local store) than to drink from the tap. 5 - 7 minute drive north of Chester and about an hour from Halifax airport. Great location close to many points of interest. For the golfers: played Chester GC twice. Fantastic and vastly under appreciated (as the friendly locals prefer), with 8 holes on the water. Challenging in 50 km/hr wind. Would definitely go back - to the cottage and the course."

"We liked very much our stay at Wilson's Coastal Club! The cottage was better than the description, everything was well organised and explained. Bring looneys if you need to use the dryer! And there is also a little private beach and a trail on the other side of the street (part of the program Rails to Trails). We regretted having booked only one night!!"

"The cottage was comfortable and well set up. We will definitely consider going back: it's a great distance for a weekend getaway from Halifax, and the amenities are nice (that sauna!). The only issue we found (because we went to curl up and read books together!) was that the lighting in the main space was not great: a couple of floor lamps would have been great. "
