When the transfer taxi arrived, I couldn’t believe this was the place. The front looked like a small, dirty parking lot and alley. As a visibly foreign visitor, I was immediately harassed by people trying to get money from me. I had booked a more expensive hotel for a better experience, so this was disappointing. Upon entering my room, it seemed nice but had issues: the air conditioning didn’t work in the Egyptian summer heat, and there were small blood stains and cigarette burns on the bed. The WiFi was unstable, disappearing occasionally, though it had good speed when it worked. Despite this, I grew to like the place. Inside, the hotel has a nice entrance and a cozy feel with only four rooms, allowing for personal interaction with the staff. They were extremely attentive and helpful. Manager Farouk was especially great—available via WhatsApp anytime to assist with anything. I was able to switch rooms when one became available. Most staff didn’t ask for tips, which was refreshing. The rooftop restaurant served nice food and had an amazing view of the pyramids and the sphinx, especially at dawn and sunset. Like even there are no windows. Can hear everything going on the roads. Can hear people talking on other side of the road also. Difficult to sleep. But very close to the pyramid entrance.
