From the kitchen watch the kids in the pool or out on the lawn! Relax at night with the doors closed and the TV on, or out on one of the beautifully lit decks surrounded by jungle sounds. Arts + Crafts Style meets Tropical charm in this bright/airy spacious 3-bedroom home with sparkling saltwater pool off main deck. Casa Zorro is one of the original Caribbean homes in Playa Chiquita, 6km south of the lively surf town, Puerto Viejo. The main floor boasts an expansive deck connected to the saltwater pool, with BBQ and plenty of comfortable seating. From there you enter the great room--spacious kitchen/dining/living area with high ceilings, comfy couches, custom lights, and a large kitchen made for cooking! With its farmhouse sink, gas stove/oven, full-sized fridge, plenty of counterspace, and a rack full of chef's knives, you can cook together with fresh ingredients purchased at the 3xweekly market, or the Gourmet Supermarket just 3 minutes’ walk away. Down a wide hallway with 2 large bedrooms and a bathroom, you can go up the stone staircase to a huge open deck. There you'll find additional seating, a wet bar, an expansive canopy view, and the master suite with large beautifully fitted bathroom, washer/dryer, and plenty of shelving for luggage and clothes. From the upper deck with its almost 360-degree vistas you can watch toucans and macaws swoop and enjoy sunset cocktails as monkey troops pass by. The sun-soaked garden has a wide variety of plants and flowers that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. The large open grassy space is perfect for a game of bocci or croquet (ask Erinn for the equipment!) and secure parking for 2 to 3 cars. In the parking area you will also find a shower to rinse off after a day at the beach. The owners have their own entrance and live with their sweet little dog Foxy in an attached apartment with soundproofing on the shared wall and spaces designed to ensure privacy for guests at Casa Zorro. On the other side of Casa Zorro is a small guest house where long-term renters Seth and Kait live quietly, tending their herb garden and teaching yoga and breathwork classes online and at local studios. Take the tranquil 5-minute walk to the trail to Playa Chiquita beach (walk in access only) --voted by many the prettiest beach in the area. Sandy shores with pockets of coral jutting out into the sea create a beautiful shoreline for basking and relaxing. You can walk in either direction for as long as you desire! And stop in for 'una fria' as you go at the occasional restaurants or bars sprinkled along the coast. Or rent a bike and explore the villages as you go. Without leaving the front yard we saw: a sloth, baby iguanas, toucans, capuchin monkeys, macaws, agouti, geckos, butterflies, and humming birds. Some of the best food we’ve ever had was within walking distance, as was the beach, and waiting for us after every excursion was the new pool. A quick dip, and we were instantly refreshed. There are 2 kitchens making the upstairs a uniquely private space. There are an abundance of fans keeping the entire place breezy and cool. And, the place is set up for whatever type of vacation you want to have. If you want to relax and have a movie night there is a comfortable area to do it. It is beautiful and the entire property is well manicured and very clean. The house itself is relaxing and perfectly decorated. The view from the upper balcony/deck is stunning. Get used to hearing the sounds of the jungle including the howler monkeys, thunder storms and various birds around the property. Casa Zorro lends a perfect space to relax and acclimate to the Costa Rican vibe. There are a variety of quality and tasty restaurants and beaches in walking distance. Erinn was great at working with us and making some last minute changes with booking dates. When we had any questions she was so accommodating, and more than approachable. If you need any suggestions for caterers or other people to make your trip perfect she has great resources. She helped us piece together a few key people to help make our dream destination beach wedding a reality. Lain’s Big Mans Food Services was great! He had a great selection of tasty foods. It was difficult to narrow down the selection he provided and what we chose was perfect. Everyone raved about the food he prepared, which was beautiful, but also delicious at the same time. He was attentive and created not only the perfect menu, but helped keep the display beautiful and helped wrap up the foods we didn’t finish for later. Toni with SeaBreezeEvents put together a beautiful beach wedding scene with an arch, bouquet, and flower arrangements and helped plan logistics we needed. ##### Alicia K.
