We would love to hear from you! The Neighborhood: Brasilito is a beach town between Huacas and Flamingo with a traditional Costa Rican feel but also many businesses that cater to tourism. Brasilito has several smallish hotels, little soda restaurants and larger restaurants. The relatively new Masala Indian Food is excellent, and the Patagonia del Mar steakhouse is very popular. There are various small convenience stores and the well-stocked Super Conchal. The Sea Star Souvenir store is a great place to buy gifts. Downtown Brasilito has a large, open field that is primarily used as a parking lot for people walking to Playa Conchal. Conchal is sometimes called the most beautiful beach in Costa Rica, and it’s well worth a visit, but you have to walk about half a kilometer from Brasilito to get there. This field is also used for seasonal fairs and rodeos, with a temporary bullring that’s erected every year in February. Horseback riding is another popular activity. You’ll often see horses tied up on the beach waiting for customers who want to ride. Brasilito is small enough that you can easily get around on foot. Visit some of the lively bars at night, and you may feel like a party is breaking out everywhere at once. Work began in February 2023 on expanding the one-lane bridge in the heart of town to a two-lane bridge with pedestrian sidewalks. The work was expected to take up to six months, with a detour from the Beach Community Church in the south to the Agua y Sal bakery in the north. Pedestrians and motorcycles are able to cross at the bridge construction site, but cars and trucks are not. Completion of this work will unclog a major regional bottleneck that has always caused traffic jams. On the southern outskirts of Brasilito, there’s an Ebais medical clinic, a police station, the private Hospital Metropolitano, the Costa Rica International Academy, and the high-end Reserva Conchal resort, with two hotels and a golf course. In nearby Huacas, there’s a gas station, several large grocery stores, all kinds of shops, the Beach Side Clinic hospital and other conveniences. For short drives to nearby towns or beaches, golf carts are another popular mode of transportation. You can also rent a bicycle to ride around in town or beyond. Taxis are available but can be a bit hard to find. Many locals use buses to get around, though there are a limited number of routes and times of day when you can catch them. Check in was hurried and we were left with worker who didn’t speak English to call us a taxi. No taxi came, had to call office. There were no kitchen towels or dishcloth! A cut rate motel has better kitchen ware. The door had a deadbolt which had to be locked with the key from INSIDE also! It was a flimsy door and lock. Didn’t feel secure or safe at all. The condo was close to the best beaches around such as flamingo beach, and playa conchal. We also visited Tamarindo, playa avellenas etc. I would recommend you rent a car if you stay here. The condo complex is very safe. The internet is ok, it works perfect sometimes but we did experience the wifi go slow two to three times during our stay. The air conditioning was excellent. The water pressure was excellent and having access to the bbq and pool was a cherry on top. I would highly recommend the property, everything you need is there including beach towels. The only con was the cable TV for us English speakers. They only have two or three channels for English speakers: CNN news and the other two played repeated shows. ##### Angjelin D. Getting the keys and being shown where the condo is, is kinda a rig a maroll but woulda been lost otherwise. Once there, the gated community gives you that extra sense of safety. Travelling with a child, the pool area was perfect for that late afternoon dip. A little small and enclosed for the adults looking for sun. We really enjoyed the bbq'ing area as we eat dinner and talked with others. On the flip side, the only downfalls were, some barking dogs in the area that barked in the middle of the night, not for long but enough to wake some light sleepers up. The condo itself (keep in mind each one is different) can opener didn't work, no sharp knifes, etc. Would have been nice to have a boogie board as well. My family and I were very satisfied with this condo and got to meet some great ppl with tips about the local shops, farmers markets and special places to visit. ##### Ashley P. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It is very peaceful and tranquil. The gardens, pool area and property are well cared for and clean. We really loved the common area with the bbq beside the pool- it was a great place to hang out at night and have dinner and a swim. The condo itself was really nice- nothing fancy but really clean and modern. Linens, towels and all the kitchen dishes and utensils were great- we had no need for anything else. You defintely need a car rental for staying here- the beach is a bit of a hike and the nearest grocery store is quite far. But with a car you have the flexibility to visit the areas that are close by and explore.
