Ocean, Beach Casa with 5 Bedrooms, 5 Baths & Private Pool! This casa is the perfect getaway to relax and enjoy the warm breezes of the Costa Rican coast. The neighborhood of Palm Beach Estates is a quiet, gated community with onsite security, located within the lush Las Baulas national marine park. The peaceful, uncrowded beach of Playa Grande is covered with beautiful shells just waiting to be discovered. And if you enjoy wave riding, our beach has one of the best surf breaks in the country! Casa Amigos is a spacious, uniquely designed property that was recently renovated to maximize the vacation experience for larger groups. The house boasts several living spaces for multiple activities yet maintains an open, interactive floorplan for the ease of group entertainment. Its two separate living rooms, centered in the house, provide a television with DVD player, plus a speaker. These rooms flow to the fully equipped kitchen, so you may curl up on one of several couches while other group members cook dinner or watch a movie. The floorplan includes five bedroom suites – four conveniently positioned off the two main living areas & the fifth being a private suite just off the pool. Each bedroom has its own internal bathroom, providing exceptional privacy from the rest of the group. All bathrooms have tiled showers and separate vanities. The house is in very good condition and well maintained. Shawna, the host, was very responsive to all our needs, stocking shelves and refrigerator with items pre-ordered in advance of our arrival. The beds were all very comfortable and there is plenty of comfortable seating, both in the house and around the pool. There are four quality restaurants within easy walking distance from the house and a water taxi provides easy access to shopping and restaurants in Tamarindo. The property is exactly as described, close to the beach (about 2 minute walk), had everything we needed, and more! On top of the amazing property, Shawna is fabulous to work with. She was super helpful throughout the entire planning process, arrival and available at all times during our stay! She said everything up for us, and even arrange for a chef to come in, which I highly recommend Yani if you are staying there! can’t say enough good things about this property and the people associated with it! The kids (teenagers) had plenty to keep them busy between the pool, beach, and ping pong table. The house had everything you could need to cook at home but there were restaurants within walking distance as well. The beach is very easy to access and was great for both swimming and surfing. We would definitely consider staying at this house again if we travel with a large group again. ##### Melissa C. The owner and house manager answered all our questions and took care of EVERYTHING, our excursions, transportation and groceries. My one and only complaint is that there is not a tv in the bedrooms, except for the outside-upstairs room. Great location and we lived out the backyard oasis. ##### Rene S. The communication with the owners and the house manager were excellent throughout the process. The pictures are accurate and the space is great. We were very comfortable. Having the beach about 50 yards away was awesome and the pool got used a lot too. Shawna, the local manager, was extremely helpful in arranging a cooked meal in the house and local excursions. The walk down the beach and using the water taxi to get to Tamarindo was so easy. Casa Amigos is highly recommended and we hope to make it back soon. Pura Vida! ##### Blake A. Let me list out why. 1\. The owner Scott was very flexible with us while making the reservation. 2\. Shawna the property manager made planning our trip (groceries, excursions, private chef) incredibly easy. 3\. Location: the house is located literally steps away from a pristine beach that was never crowded, also about 50 yards from a great little restaurant Cafe Azul Mar. 4\. The house was well apportioned with everything you could need in the kitchen as well as beach towels, chairs and boogie boards. 5\. The house is exactly as described and looks just like the pictures, the backyard with pool is a beautiful oasis. What an incredible place. We highly recommend Casa Amigos! ##### Geoff L. Great local restaurants within a 5 minute walk. This place was plenty big enough for our multi generational family group. They had everything you would need for a beach vacation. Easy boat taxi to Tamarindo. Saw Howler Monkeys in neighborhood. Host was great. Only drawback to property was the rough road into the neighborhood from the town of Playa Grande. We had an AWD SUV, but others in our group had a car. Highly recommend getting an SUV to make the driving around easier. Would definitely stay here again. ##### Nathan R. Quiet neighborhood. Convenient restaurants within short walking distance. Malinches was our favorite. El Huerto in upper Grande has great pizza also. Backyard area and pool awesome. We had a little bad luck with the weather but made the best of those days. Scott was very helpful with information and made sure he made himself available to us. Our family had THE BEST TIME. The very attentive concierge service helped us organize activities (sailing, animal sanctuary, mud baths) The 5 bedrooms/5 bathrooms was a PERFECT set up for our group. We had the kitchen stocked and ready for us. The walk to Playa Grande was THE BEST PART. Costa Rica (my first trip) is now at the top of my list. Thanks for a wonderful vacation. Very memorable. The property was better than the pictures. It was clean and well maintained. The location was excellent - very quiet and very close to not only the beach but a couple of excellent restaurants within walking distance. We took our 4 children and their spouses with us to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and everything was perfect. The 5 bedrooms and 5 baths fit our needs perfectly. The pool was amazing and the outside areas were perfect for relaxing, eating and enjoying each other's company. We had a chef come in one night and fix us an "authentic" Costa Rican dinner. We had 2 massage therapists come in and give everyone massages. This was an amazing vacation for us and our children. We had an incredible stay at this beautiful property in Costa Rica! The house was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. All the amenities you could possibly need were thoughtfully provided, right down to a lemon squeezer. The bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms were excellent, providing plenty of comfort and privacy.The transportation was seamless and made getting around stress-free. Shawna, the house manager is amazing! She took care of organizing our transportation, and groceries for our arrival.The location was perfect—just a short walk to the beach, which made our days even more enjoyable. We especially loved the outdoor space; the backyard and pool area were a highlight, offering a great space to relax and unwind.Quick stroll down the beach to grab a water taxi to Tamarindo (until 4:30 pm) we booked the same transportation company that picked us up from the airport to pick us up in tamarindo at the end of the night, and they were awesome!Overall, this is a stunning property, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My family of 7 spent a wonderful week in this house. The backyard is as lovely as the pictures from the pool and the shaded cabana where we had our coffee every morning to the large table area also in the shade for our dinners and nightly games. The home is very clean and supplied with everything you could possibly need. Our granddaughter especially loved the huge bag of beach toys for the pool and beach. Just a short walk away were 3 great places to eat, all with wonderful outdoor seating. The beach is close by and is semi private to watch the sunset or just enjoy the sand and water. We felt very safe in the house and walking anywhere in the area. The house manager, Shawna, was so very helpful, from stocking us with groceries before we got there to arranging transportation and all of our excursions. We would have been lost without her. Do not pass on this house. It is one of the best rental homes I have ever stayed in. We had high expectations for this home based on the pictures, and Casa Amigos exceeded them. ##### Carol L. Our extended family traveled down to Playa Grande to stay at Casa Amigos in February for the kid's school break. We had 6 adults and 4 children in our group, and I will say this was one of the best experiences with VRBO we have had ever. Between the hands down professional style trip planning services provided by Shawna (Casa Manager) prior to our arrival, to the constant communication and face to face greeting upon check in, we were extremely impressed by the level of service provided. The house was well appointed, extremely clean and provided a relaxing and fun retreat for everyone. Shawna provided grocery stocking service prior to our arrival, assisted with several day trip activities, scheduled a local chef (Yani) to prepare several lovely meals for us and was available and communicative with us all week while we navigated our first time in CR. The house's proximity to the beach path was amazing, especially for quick dips down for early morning coffee or evening happy hour sunsets. The pool and pergolas were a welcome retreat from the heat during the day and there were plenty of pool floats, toys, and floatation devices for the kids. Truly a fantastic experience and would recommend Casa Amigos to anyone traveling to the Playa Grande area, especially with larger group or family. ##### Brendan C. We had a lot of rain, so surfaces were slippery, take care when feet are wet on ANY tile surface. The house Manager Shawna was wonderful, we were able to reach her in an instant. Shawna organized rides, massages, and even had someone come and dispose of a rather large living cucaracha in one of the showers. (note that the cucaracha was not injured during his eviction, just relocated...same as the spiders) The massage was incredible by the way...ask Shawna to organize at the house. The walk to the beach/ocean was right across from the house and a very short walk. You can walk down the beach toward Tamarindo and catch a small boat across the river for some shopping or cocktails. We had a great meal and margaritas at Pico, highly recommend. Next door we had a great little place called Cafe Mar where we met Grace who fed us almost daily. A bit further down the street you will find Hotel Cantarana, great food and great staff. Tell Mario that the girls from Canada sent you! Long and short is that you will love this rental and the proximity to everything you need...ENJOY! ##### Joyce H. Pictures posted online were true but actually better In person. The place has many wonderful attributes to the way the place is planned out having a general living area, wonderful outside area which was very roomy and the bedrooms with attached bathrooms were wonderful. It is close to the beach and they had all the boogie boards, beach chairs, toys for the pool that can be offered. Like where there were options to insure sand was off your feet so as not to get it in the house. Everything you could ever ask for and appreciated the ability to have food stocked for our arrival even though we did purchase groceries ini Liberia as there is not a fully stocked market close by. We had a chef prepare a special dinner for our dual birthday events we had which was wonderful. Communication with the owner and property manager was a total asset and appreciated. There is a cafe 2 doors down from the residence which was a nice break. I would suggest buying a sufficient amount of suntan lotion before getting there ... and I had read in one review that there were mosquitos and noseeums which we did not have a problem with at all. However we did have quite a few flying grasshoppers which are beautiful but big and scary!! The beach was very nice and really quite private. Highly recommend this wonderful accommodation!! ##### Susan P. The casa was wonderful and perfect for three family friends wanting to celebrate a 50th birthday and two high school graduations. The home has five ensuite bedrooms with one suite upstairs. One has a bunk bed and queen bed w/bath. For three families with eight teens it worked perfectly for our vacation! The home is very comfortable with AC during a hot, rainy and very humid season. Pool was great and perfectly heated. Beach is extremely close and safe just across the dirt road. The whole area is gated with a guard station. We felt comfortable walking to dining at night. The size of the place is not huge, est under 3K sf but the layout worked perfectly for our needs. Shawna is awesome and very quick with communication. She helped setup the tours, transfers and transportation to and from the activities. I would reco using Shawna and her team to schedule activities versus going through an online sites. It costs a bit more but it's full service with transportation and your own driver for the day. Most of the activities (Guachepelin and Rio Celeste) were about 2+ hour drive from the casa. They were completely worth it! The drivers were accommodating if you needed to add additional stops (ATM, grocery market, food pick-up, etc.). All-in-all we all had a great first visit to Costa Rica!
