It has just changed management and we were welcomed by a warm and friendly team. The room was a good size with a wonderful power shower and had modern decor. We ate twice in the pub and the meals were lovely and very reasonably priced. Check is done at the pub bar but we were greeted very warmly by the server and everything was ready for us. There are only 3 rooms upstairs. Ours was very nice, clean and had views of the back of the property. The only negative thing I could say was the wifi did not work in our room and we both had zero phone signal so we were cut off from the world, but we quite enjoyed having a phone free stay. It did work in the bar downstairs. Dinner was really good, typically pub classics but done very well and clearly freshly cooked, not bought in. The bartender was really chatty and quirky, he was constantly talking to everyone but not in an annoying way, extremely pleasant and attentive. Bathroom toiletries good but no shelf in shower. Towels very skimpy. Breakfast not included but can be had for 8.95\. Poached eggs & toast nice, bacon cheap & tough, coffee undrinkable. Better value and quality to be had at farm shop cafe 100yds down the road. You can’t put meals/bar on room tab but have to pay as you go. Minor negative points were that after day 1, the heating wasn't working in the room so no heated towel rail, and the TV was rather small. We found having our evening meal was a little strange as we were told we'd need to book a table but when we went to the restaurant we were directed to a reserved table in the bar which is fine but nobody told us we had to order at the bar so we sat waiting to be served like a couple of lemons for a while until the penny dropped! Once we realised it was ok, and when we knew the drill for the following 2 nights all was well. Although its a fairly limited menu, the food was very nice although we never actually got as far as desserts due to the generous portions.
