"Great location for access to Saint Mathieu and the lake. Good sized bedrooms, plenty of decent crockery, etc. No frills but adequately met our needs. As we were only a couple we were paying a premium, better value for a family. Gardens surrounded the property with plenty of choice of seating, weather permitting."

Zwembad super en werd goed schoon gehouden tijdens ons verblijf. Door de vele spullen en accessoires leek het lastig schoon te houden. Onbeperkt handdoeken en grote badlakens. Erg fijn dat er wasmachine en droger was met klein kind. Tuin en omgeving piekfijn in orde en sfeervol"

Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la grande piscine, idéale pour se rafraîchir et se détendre. Le cadre est paisible, parfait pour un moment de repos.Nous sommes venus avec notre chien, qui a lui aussi adoré le jardin sécurisé et l’environnement calme. "Had a wonderful week here in Perigord Vert. We enjoyed the local scenery, villages and attractions. Cathy was a wonderful host - thank you for the lovely food gifts and the beekeeping lesson! "The property is excellent throughout: comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. The garden, with different seating spots depending on the sun's position and strength, is also extensive. I loved the area too, local towns Brantome & Nontron, the Perigord- Limousin Regional Park and the plus beau village of St Jean de Cole. I should hope to return!"

"Propriétaires très sympas, la maison est top pour passer des vacances en famille, piscine, table de ping pong, jeux de société,.... Chaque chambre à sa salle de bain ce qui est un réel quand on est nombreux. Situé à la campagne ce qui est très dépaysant, pas grand chose autour, pas non plus de magasin très proches, que du vert et c'est exactement ce que nous recherchions."

"Imposing Manor House set within extensive open parkland at the edge of the village. Large bedroom with modern en-suite and smart new linen. Graceful sun-terrace and well stocked library. Lovely Swimming Pool exclusive to residents. Chateau de Villars is nonetheless an upmarket Bed&Breakfast (Chambre d'Hotes); no catering apart from continental style breakfast and should not be marketed on a par with a similarly priced Hotel which would normally come with some level of all day service. Could definitely benefit from better signage/directions on entry and clean-up around the pool together with the addition of shower and changing facilities. "
