Just what we needed!
It's been too long since we had a vacation by ourselves. It was everything we could hope for. The Barn was inviting, and the views spectacular. God sure made a beautiful world to explore. Thank you for the lovely home away from home.

Quiet
Very well decorated and renovated barn. Quiet and peaceful stay. Great location and the sound of the stream was amazing. I encourage people to do two things. Look for different things throughout the barn. There are hidden things to do. Also, take the gravel road out. Very scenic drive.

The cabin was secure and peaceful. The stream directly outside the large screened in port creates a serenity not know in the city. The decor was nostalgic and well placed. The property manager check in on us with a simple text to be sure we arrived safely. I highly recommend this quaint yet spacious cabin!

The barn was well-furnished with just about everything one needed for a stay of even several days! There were even a number of spices, seasonings, and other cooking items so that one did not need to bring everything to prepare meals, if desired. The babbling stream just outside the enclosed deck, the hammock, the games (darts, ping-pong, jigsaw puzzles, etc.), cable TV (though we didn't use it), videos, high-speed internet, comfortable bed, decor and furnishings, . . . --all of these and more made for a wonderful time away from the normal hustle and bustle of everyday life! The owner was quick to communicate answers to questions we had, as well. Located nearby a number of hikeable waterfalls, beautiful scenery, and laid back towns further added to the enjoyment of our time away!

A Place of Peace

Amazing and Unique Expierience
The Creekside Tobacco Barn was everything and more than advertised. First off, let me say the craftsmanship put into this building is what set it apart from others. You can remodel any building, but few can remodel with unique craftsmanship. Old-style building with custom modern charm. From wood slab counter to airplane wing table to sliding barn wood doors for privacy. The place was clean, well equipped for one night to an extended stay. We were there during a tropical storm with much rain, no musty smell, warm and dry. The outside screened in porch was amazing and the sound of the creek was wonderful. The only regret we had was not being able to spend more than one evening at this amazing gem of a property. We highly recommend this property to anyone venturing out for a quiet place to stay in the mountains of NC.

Nice night at the barn
It was Labor Day weekend I was lucky to find this place at the last minute. Very nice and very secluded stay back away from the everyday hustle and a good place to go to decompress and get some country air. Over all the barn was nice and clean, very nicely decorated which I loved, had a very good and fast wifi connection and more options that you can think of as far as movies or finding something to watch on TV!! And I have to also complement on their coffee selection and spice rack; loved the variety of coffee and spices to cook with there for your use also! The only 2 minor things that I would have like to have had would have been a maybe a blind or curtain for the front door and a bug zapper on the back porch other wise this place is a very good place to go to site see the mountains country side and take some time to just relax and unwind!! Will be booking again in the near future!! Love the Barn!!

Perfect experience!!!
We only stayed one night but I wish we would’ve had more time. This place was very clean and the owners were very considerate with all the amenities they have for their quest. The bed is extremely comfortable. We didn’t use the kitchen but the couch is comfy and listening to the creek run is very relaxing. If I’m in the area again, I will definitely see if this place is available!

Beautiful setting!!
The cabin itself was beautiful and extremely comfortable. To me, the drive in and out to Burnsville was my favorite with such picturesque scenery including the river, farms, wildlife and lush landscape. The cabin had all the modern amenities but maintained the rustic feel.

Favorite rental in the area- extended our stay. Had a very hard time leaving.
After living in and around Asheville for about 6 years, I often like to visit and have stayed in a TON of really cool rentals like treehouses and urban lofts etc. This was hands down my favorite. The attention to detail, thought and care put in to the tobacco barn and property... It's cozy, calm, updated, clean, perfect. The porch and creek won my heart (pssst. theres a ping pong set up in the corner cabinet!) but the bed was also incredibly comfortable, the colors tasteful, bathroom tile felt great... John was quick to respond when I contacted about extending our stay. I didn't want to leave. We even went on a bookmarked hike found in one of the books on the shelf to check out the Ray Mica Mine... we never found the exact place to collect rocks/gems but had a great time getting lost and climbing up a mountain past several mines... Cannot WAIT to come back many more times. Thank you for creating the most special getaway to date.

Perfect getaway
We stayed here to escape the city and experience a true fall/winter. We were able to do that and more. Our son loved running outside and on the patio/screenroom. From the screenroom you can hear the creek rushing by just under the window. It is the perfect relaxing hideaway, tucked away in the mountains. It was thoughtfully decorated and stocked. We have no complaints and would gladly visit again!

Fabulous and quaint little cabin on the creek!
This was a wonderful little cabin where you could enjoy the wonderful screened in porch or the sitting area at the creekside with a fire! The town if Burnsville is also a great place to visit and you are sure to find some great gifts from local artists. Would highly recommend!!!!! Gracey

Comfortable cabin in a beautiful setting
My fiance and I came here for just one night to get away from it all, and we had a wonderful time. The barn is beautiful and you can tell the host really put some thought into the decor and layout. We grilled steaks and roasted marshmallows in the fire pit, all while overlooking the beautiful backyard creek. There was ample firewood and the grill was very clean. And the bed is so comfortable! The only caveat we had was that the extra comforter on the end of the bed smelled off, like urine. We stayed for only one night so I texted the host about it when I got service driving home in the morning, to no reply. This wasn't a huge deal for us as the rest of the place was sparkling clean and it was clear that the rest of the linens were fresh, we just didn't use that blanket, but it did throw me off a little bit.

Great property! They have done such a good job of renovating a truly unique home!
Our stay at the Barn was first rate! Evenings by the fire pit listening to the creek were absolutely perfect. The house is well equipped with everything you need and communication was so easy. We saw deer and bunnies and a friendly neighborhood dog. Looking forward to renting again in the future!

Awesome place
My wife and I came up for one night for our Anniversary, to just, get away. It was so peaceful and quiet. We picked up a couple of steaks and salads from the Ingles in town. Cooked the steaks on the gas grill and enjoyed a nice quiet dinner with drinks. Sat out by the fire pit and listened to the rushing stream just a few feet away. They have a large hammock on the back screened in porch and the stream rushes right by it. Sounds like rain! You could easily sleep out there to that sound. But since it was cool, we slept inside on the very comfortable bed. Just a beautiful place!!

Beautiful place with a nice creek and little clearing to walk in the woods. The cabin was very cozy and warm during very cold weather. The ping pong table was a nice surprise! Definitely recommend!

Perfect Weekend Getaway
Jon and I came to Burnsville for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary and the Tobacco Barn couldn't have been more perfect! We loved the fire pit outside and had fires both evenings. The creek was beautiful and its sound filled the barn when the doors were open. The screened in porch was a great space to lounge and eat, we loved everything about it. Thank you, John and Kerstin!

Perfect Mountain Stay
My husband and I stayed for our first two nights of our honeymoon and we LOVED this property. The shower was nice, the screened in porch with the sound of the creek was amazing, and we really enjoyed building fires in the fire pit! It is the perfect size for two people and such a beautiful home and yard. John responds so quickly and is so kind. We are more than happy with our stay and plan on returning!

A short getaway
Not only was the property an excellent choice, but we found the area to be perfect for us. We are photographers and see this location as being close to many points of interest and plan to stay here often. Burnsville is great little town about 15 minutes away which is an easy trek to get to the cabin. The living area was very comfortable where the owner provided everything you need, even a dart board and a ping pong table in the back patio. The rush of the creek next to the barn was beautiful and the sound was relaxing. Great job!

Best Cozy Vacation Ever!
From the moment we walked in, we absolutely fell in love with the barn. The barn was so clean and just so well kept. John and Kerstin really have put work into making it feel like being at home. For the space provided they thought of everything! We cooked almost of our meals there and they had staples for us to use such as seasonings, coffee, toilet paper, blow dryer etc. It was very refreshing to come back to the barn after our days of hiking:) The creek is a natural sound machine and they have an amazing little fireplace that just makes it even cozier! The bed and pillows were super comfortable as well. The big back enclosed deck was our favorite place to spend time; with a dart board, ping pong table, grill and hammock it was a relaxing and fun place to hang out and enjoy nature while listening to the creek! We hope to come back one day in the future! Thank you John and Kerstin!

From the moment we parked at the barn, and heard the rushing waters in the barn side creek, we've delighted in every minute spent at this exceptional home away from home! Open the doors to the large porch, and you'll enjoy the water sounds throughout the house. The pictures on the site show the physical space (exceptionally clean, well equipped with necessities, and the decor is clever); the peace and solitude of being nestled in the Pisgah Forest can't be conveyed in pictures.
