"For the money it is a good location. Not far from Paraa where it is 3-4 times more this hotel ot is a bargain. With little improvement could be a super deal. Even so it is a good deal. They have good restaurant with good fish or chicken and chips. Ladies serving and hotel ladies are providing good service. Management helped with check in and our needs in rooms. Some things in the rooms needs to be corrected but for the money I will stay anytime there again. This was my second time staying at the...

"the person hat is putting this hotel listing has no involvement in the hotel. he is just an intermediary, the hotel owner does not know him and does not even know that they are listed on expedia. that person has over priced the hotel rate and collects the money and just pays a fraction to the hotel. When I saw the hotel and did not want to stay in it, the hotel management had no problem to refund me the money but that person has refused to refund the fee that he collected from expedia, even...

"The property gives you high luxury in the middle of nature. But what makes the place exceptional is the services given by staff. They treat you like VIP from arrival to check out. "The Paara Safari Ladge is great choice when visiting Murcheson Falls National Park...easily one of the best in this remote area. But be careful when you book your room to make sure that it has air conditioning if that is important to you. (It's very hot at Paara). Even though I had a copy of my booking with Hotels.com that clearly stated that I hadn't paid for an air conditioned room, it required 30 minutes of arguing and a call to hotels.com before they would give me the room I had paid for....

7. Kabalega Wilderness Lodge

Kabalega Wilderness Lodge
3.5 star property
Paraa
6.0 out of 10, (1 review)
"I really enjoyed the hippos grazing at night. The staff also built us a bonfire the first night we were there and we were able to eat around it. The biggest problem was they said we were not expected ( even though my name was clearly on their guest list) and that they did not know we had a 6 year old with us. They were very confused at first and did not know how to handle the situation. One man was very unfriendly."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Bulisa?
The best area to stay in Bulisa is the area around the main town centre, particularly along the road leading towards the Murchison Falls National Park gate.

This central area offers the most convenience for travellers. It's where you'll find the majority of the guesthouses and lodges, as well as local shops and eateries. The main road is relatively easy to navigate, and properties here often provide good access to transport links for onward travel or park excursions.

For couples looking for a comfortable base before or after a safari, staying near the park gate road offers practicality. Many lodges in this vicinity are designed to cater to safari-goers, often providing early breakfast options and assistance with park entry, ensuring a smooth start to your adventure.

Solo travellers will also find this area suitable due to the concentration of accommodation options and local amenities.
When is the best time to go to Bulisa?
The best time to go to Bulisa is during the dry seasons, which run from December to February and again from June to August.

During these months, the weather is generally sunny with less rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the natural beauty of the region. The roads, particularly those leading to Murchison Falls National Park, are less muddy and more accessible, ensuring a smoother journey.

This period is particularly good for those interested in wildlife viewing. The drier conditions mean animals tend to congregate around water sources, making them easier to spot within the national park. Game drives and boat safaris are more comfortable and productive during these times.

For those planning to visit the local communities and markets, the dry season offers easier navigation and a more pleasant experience.
