Our stay at the Belgrave Sands Hotel was brilliant (as usual). Our rooms were spotless and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
There are not enough superlatives to do justice to this gem of a hotel

We stayed two weekends, 23rd and 30th
The staff were very good at their job. When we were staying above incredibly volatile and inebriated guests on the first weekend, it was dealt with quickly. Unfortunately the next night another guest set off the fire alarm at 1am.
The second weekend was faultless- thoughtful guests same excellent staff
Clientelle interesting, staff incredibly professional and kind.
Under refurb, so slightly odd vibe, the price was very good because of it.
Close to beautiful countryside, Tors, Buckfast etc
Not into pubs but there is one right next door for those who like pub grub and booze- we didnt try it

Clean room. Mattress not great very springy and going in all directions and had to ask for a duvet the second night to lie on to get some sleep. This was disappointing
Bar good. Booked for dinner but service was sadly lacking, food ok. Outside balcony good to sit outside and staff table service was good
Spectacular view from the room and may visit again

Facilities are absolutely amazing… great gym, sauna steam room and pool. Room was a bit tired. Food really let it down. I think i was booked into the smallest room ive ever had in a hotel. A bit larger than a broom closet. In addition, the bed was hard and NOT well suited for a night's sleep. Not particularly pleasant. Alternatively, the front desk clerk was unfailingly pleasant and helpful.
