Smoky Mt. Views - Hot Tub - Easy Access Cabin - Private - Dog Friendly - Fenced
“At Last - Above the Clouds” sets high on a mountain side with breathtaking views of the Nantahala Gorge and Great Smoky Mountain National Park. You can see Clingman’s Dome from the deck and hot tub. You can hear and see the Great Smoky Mountain train from the deck.
The log cabin has a fully fenced side yard for your dogs and a five person hot tub for watching the stars at night and mountains by day. It is all about location, privacy and easy access to all the remarkable venues located in Western North Carolina / Tennessee Smoky Mountains and the Bryson City Great Smoky Mountain Train Railway system.
The cabin has two bedrooms and a queen size sleeper sofa for sleeping accommodations. Awaken in the primary bedroom to breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains. The primary bedroom has a king size bed. You can actually see the awesome views from your king size bed. The guest bedroom has queen size bed. The cabin has one full bath with a shower / tub combination. Each bedroom has its own rocking chair for your private times to relax and read or look out at the spectacular scenery.
The kitchen area seats five adults and the living room is comfortably arranged with a queen sleeper sofa, rocking chair and accent chair for your family or friends. The kitchen is fully stocked for any cook’s expectations for meal preparation. The living room has a gas log fireplace for sitting by a cozy fire and additional ambience for romantic occasions.
There is a screened in porch facing the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This area has a porch swing with four additional gliding rockers to enjoy the sounds of nature without the nuisance of insects. Outside the screened porch is a massive deck area to sit and enjoy the countless views of the Smoky Mountains, Fontana Lake, Nantahala Gorge and Clingman's Dome. The deck area has a gas grill for outdoor grilling and a picnic table for outdoor dining.
The cabin can be reached through out the year via the paved road off Highway 74 / 19 and is easily accessible by car. The road is paved directly to your cabin door. I cannot emphasize how important this was to my husband and I to be able to bring our guest, family and friends to a cabin that can be reached year round and for individuals with limited mobility constraints. Our family also consist of five rescue dogs that needed a fenced in yard for their vacation needs. We can now relax on the deck and watch them run and play without any concern for their safety. In season, you can see the Great Smoky Mountain Polar Express and hear the train whistle. I highly recommend anyone to include this in your vacation plans. We are about seven miles from the train station in Bryson City.
The cabin has high speed internet and a smart tv with access to news and your favorite channels and internet platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube. You are also able to access your cellular phone data and make calls or texts from the cabin which was really important to me. I wish I could be more descriptive regarding this fabulous location but if you are interested in spectaculer views, hiking, fishing or whitewater rafting, this is your best location.
All of our vacation rentals are dog friendly. There are no size or number restrictions for your fur babies. Only dogs are accepted due to guest’s allergy concerns at our venues. We do require a non-refundable pet fee so we can properly clean and replace rugs and linens as needed between stays. The non-refundable fee is $75.00 for one to two dogs for your entire stay and $150.00 for three or more dogs for the entire stay. Just make sure you click on the “pets icon” with VRBO to add that fee in as needed. “At Last - Above the Clouds” has the unique feature that I could not find for my pets and that was a totally fenced in yard for the safety of children and pets. The deck can also be closed with a retractable gate so children and pets can safely play. I have been a premier partner with all my VRBO vacation rentals since 2016 with my Panama City Beach House - “Anchors Away Beach House” (1040394) and my Mississippi Bed and Breakfast Cottage - “Long Leaf Cottage” (884716) which means you get exceptional quality every stay. I wanted to add the perfect North Carolina vacation cabin and I searched for years to find this cabin we purchased in 2022. We have the absolute best house keeper and care taker in North Carolina and Tennessee that is just minutes away if needed and I am just a text or phone call away if you need any questions answered. I hope you will enjoy this side of heaven as much as we have since our adventure began in 2016. All my best, Jo. (John 3:16)

Great place, would definitely rent again. The views were amazing. Easy access to the cabin. The cabin had everything we needed plus some. Our dog loved the little fenced in area in the side yard.
This was the perfect place to stay! It was super clean and decorated to make you feel right at home. The location is close to many locations of interest. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I didn't want to get up and get moving each morning! Fantastic location and I would stay here again!

We rented this cabin for the week after labor day. Its a cute cabin with everything you need. The beds were super comfortable unlike other cabins we've stayed in. The view was absolutely beautiful. If your looking to unwind and get away from the city, this cabin will do just that. Its simple with a lot of rustic charm.

The cabin is secluded and private. It was very well furnished and clean, with everything we needed, including a kitchen well-stocked with supplies, pots, plates etc.
Our spaniel liked his fenced exercise area.
Jo responded quickly to our messages and was a pleasure to deal with.
We'd definitely be interested in staying there again given the opportunity.

Part of our group didn’t make it in, so it was just my friend and I. We enjoyed the cabin and visiting all the areas around. The cabin was so nice and cozy and warm with the gas stove, the evenings were as restful and relaxing as the days!!! I do recommend changing the listing from a 3 bedroom to a 2 bedroom, we thought we were going to have 2 more adults and 2 children and it would have been tight but we would have made it work. Thanks for letting us enjoy your cabin!

SPECTACULAR VIEW, breathtaking views from porch and balcony.
Very nice. Clean, neat, well furnished with updated applicances even though there was no dishwasher. Fenced in back yard was important for us since we took our pets with us.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. Smoky Mountains are incredible. The cabin was very nice and had everything you'll need for a stay. The only downside is we chose this one over some others because of it's gas wood stove. The pilot light went out on our 3rd night there and was never fixed(we were there for a week). Other than that we we liked it would come back again.

Since VRBO hounds you until you submit a review, I’ll make it short and sweet.
Pros: Impressive Long Range Mountain View, paved road all the way to cabin, nice cabin decor, cabin size is convenient and cozy.
Cons: Jets on hot tub didn’t work, lady bugs were swarming during our stay so they were in the cabin, a lot of traffic noise from the surrounding highways.
Note: We were offered a free night on a future reservation for the hot tub issues.

We absolutely had the best vacation in the Smoky Mountains ever. The cabin was just as described but better. The hot tub was fantastic for relaxing after hiking and white water rafting each day. At night we watched the stars from the tub. So many stars to see. The views from this cabin are phenomenal. Can’t imagine a better view from anywhere in North Carolina. We were mesmerized by the different perspectives you see on the mountains based upon the morning clouds and after noon sunsets. Needless to say, we are returning as soon as possible.

Went to see the beautiful mountains and leaf changes in Western Carolina. The Great Smoky Mountains were beautiful. The cabin was convenient to everything in Bryson City, NC. The cabin has a fenced yard and is very easy to access. The views from the deck and cabin were spectacular. Just as advertised. It is truly above the clouds and with a hot tub for night sky star gazing. Great location for whitewater rafting and hiking the mountain trails. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to finally find a cabin that is accessible and private at the same time. We will certainly return.

Went up to North Carolina for a hiking vacation over Thanksgiving week and loved our stay here. The cabin is easy to get to and had plenty of space. A few notes:
- Great location near Bryson City and the Smoky Mountain National Park (5min to gas & coffee / 15 min to downtown).
- TV (Dish) worked fine but the WiFi (also satellite) might not be fast enough for remote work.
- The kitchen is very well stocked for a rental property; had everything we needed (crock pot was nice to have for day hikes).
- The mountain views are incredible.
- The hot tub is built into the deck so you see stars overhead at night.
- Communication with the owner/manager was great.
- The queen bed isn't the best & the frame is a bit noisy, but it didnt keep us from getting good sleep.
- We would absolutely stay here again.

We picked this cabin for its views and easy access location. We were not dissapointed. It was just what we were looking for in privacy, beauty and spectacular memories. The cabin is exactly as described.
Here is a summary of the stand out amenities:
1) views of the Smoky Mountains - you can actually lie in the primary bedroom and wake up to these views;
2) the hot tub is wondefully located to take in the awesome mountain views by day and the expansive starry sky at night;
3) close to everthing you will want to see in the Bryson City area such as the NOC, Darnell Farms, Fontana Lake and waterfalls & trails for hiking; all the quaint shops, casino and surrounding towns suchs as Sylva and Dillsboro.
4) cabin is cozy, clean and perfect for couples celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, special occassions. Perfect for families or friends for five guests or less.
5) pet friendly and a wonderful fenced yard for their enjoyment.

We loved staying in this cabin, super clean and the view was spectacular! I took so many photos of the ever changing colors and clouds of the mountains! Our host Jo was right there when we had trouble finding it and when the cabin below us had a water line break affecting us and leaving us with no water. She compensated us for our inconvenience and the water was back on the next morning. Hoping to come back in the spring!

The cabin location is awesome. It is actually perched on the side of a mountain just as described. The views are more gorgeous in person and the sunsets are spectacular. Fireflies light up the sky at night. We watched a meteor shower from the hot tub. We hiked the mountain from the resort below to the peak. What a pleasure and so convenient. The king size bed was absolutely perfect. Slept wonderfully. The queen size bed in the other bedroom was equally enjoyable and most welcoming after white water rafting and fly fishing that is literally just down the mountain from the cabin. I love how easy it was to get to this cabin. We have a Prius and it had no problems pulling the incline to the cabin. The road is paved to the front door. We will be back. Thanks Jo. This was a true vacation with all of the bells and whistles. Literally from the trains passing below. What a cool experience. Loved it!

This was about as close to heaven as I can imagine on this earth. I was awestruck when we arrived. The view is absolutely breathtaking. You are literally above the clouds at this cabin. The hot tub was truly amazing when you can stare up at all the stars from your deck. The bedroom was fantastically oriented toward the mountain views. Best of all, it was so close to everything we wanted to see. Literally about two miles from the NOC. Seven miles from downtown Bryson City. You can hear and see the train from the cabin. Easy access to the cabin without ever worrying about weather or parking. You can park right in front of the cabin and it is off a paved road. Private but close to everything is my closing mantras. A must stay if you want a great location and cabin that has a fenced yard for your children or dogs. Wow. See you again this summer.
