Beautiful Mountain Views
The trip up the mountain is one that will not be forgotten! Once you crest the top of the drive you are greeted by a cozy and welcoming home/cabin. Upon exiting the vehicle prepare yourself for a breathtaking, gorgeous and unobstructed view of the Smoky Mountains! We felt at home here! The house is very clean and has anything you could possibly need! Sandy, the owner, is ready to answer any questions you may have and has provided lots of brochures for nearby activities. We rode, and highly recommend the Great Smoky Mountain Rail in Bryson City. I also recommend hopping over to Franklin for Sheffield Gem Mine. Rafting, hiking, dining and shopping are also in this area. This home makes for a wonderful place to relax and unwind between activities! We will definitely be coming back to Retreat in the Sky!!!

Feels like home!
Retreat in the Sky is a beautiful, secluded property with all the amenities you could ask for! There are many activities nearby, however if you just want to unplug and relax, there are places inside and outside the house to do that. Sandy, the host, is very responsive and a pleasure to speak with!

Hidden Gem
Over the years, we've stayed in many different cabins in many different areas of the Smoky Mountains. The Retreat in the Sky is the best we've experienced! The comfort and amenities are second to none, and the views are absolutely priceless. Communication from Sandy was timely and very helpful. We expect to visit here again in the future :-)

Great Views, great owner.
We booked a couple months earlier and were looking forward to the getaway. The owners were awesome all the way through in communication and making sure we were happy. The views from the property are outstanding and the home itself is comfy and cozy. My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much.

Cozy cabin with amazing view!
This is truly an amazing cabin high in the mountains. It is so cozy and comfortable with everything you need for a great stay. We enjoyed the fireplace and of course the peacefulness. Sandy was a very considerate friendly host who made sure we had everything we needed. She and her family made this cabin into a lovely home and I am happy they shared it with us.

Truly!
This cabin on the side of a mountain truly is a retreat in the sky! We felt like we were in the clouds- it was beautiful and relaxing and well equipped. We had a couple of issues that Sandy addressed well. The sunsets were lovely on the deck and the town of Bryson City was charming to explore. We loved our dinner at the Bistro at Hotel Everett and the Food Truck outside the brewery in town was exceptional for lunch. Thanks for your hospitality, Sandy.

Anniversary Vacation
This cabin is exceptionally clean and well furnished. The hot tub is in a screened in porch, so it can be enjoyed even if the weather does not cooperate. The view is beautiful.

Paradise, overlooking the smoky mountains
Breathe taking view. Peace with nature, if you look and listen. Beautifully furnished and well equipped home, with everything you could possibly need at “your” home. It was the first house that we’ve been to, through VRBO, with everything we needed-plus, for our stay. You will learn why they call this the Smoky Mountains, because of the view from this the house. This home and location was exactly what we needed after a stressful couple of years in South Louisiana. (Hurricane Ida, Cancer & COVID-19) Excellent water quality. No Bears as of this writing… Thank Goodness!!!

Cozy Cabin with Beautiful Views
We stayed for 5 nights and what a fantastic getaway! It was really cold while we were there, but with the fireplace, it helped keep the cabin warm and made us that much more relaxed. The cabin is really well-furnished and there is about everything you would need in terms of amenities, such as towels, toiletries, a great little kitchen with plenty of dishes and utensils. What's really nice is that the drive is short into Bryson City, yet you would never know you were that close to any city at all. The elevation of the cabin is just over 2600 feet and tucked away in the trees and impressive mountains. Kudos to Sandy as this place is a true gem and there's a good chance we will be back to visit again!

Retreat in the Sky November 1-5
My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at this lovely, clean and comfy cabin in the woods. The beds were very comfortable, and all kitchen supplies are there to use. The host is exceptionally nice and easy to contact. The views are outstanding, and the cabin is in a great location for all that we wanted to do. It is convenient to Ingles grocery store, hiking trails, a winery, and Darnell farms. We mainly hiked, cooked in and enjoyed the views. We had a great time and hope to return to this perfect get away in the mountains.

We really enjoyed our stay. Sandy is a wonderful host. The view was magnificent. The hot tub was relaxing. If you are up for climbing the little mountain to the Retreat, we highly recommend, as the views, peace, and relaxation are wonderful.

Absolutely Amazing!
We loved everything about “Retreat in the sky”. They cabin was so homey and decorated so cute! They outdoor spaces were beautiful with a large variety of plants and bushes. From the back deck it makes you feel as if you are up in the clouds. Sandy and Ty were so helpful from the start in sharing information with us about the area, shops, restaurants, attractions. They answered promptly when ai had a question about anything. Everything that you can possibly need is at the cabin. It is fully furnished with a completely stocked kitchen, lovely bedrooms with comfy bedding and of course the hot tub on the screened in porch. It is a totally secluded property, which is so nice. We will definitely stay here again when we are up that way!! Thank you Sandy and Ty!!

Great place to unwind
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Retreat in the Sky. Our schedules are quite busy and we wanted a place to relax with no agenda. We found it. Kitchen well-stocked, beds were comfortable and the bedroom in the loft had a beautiful view of the mountains. (as well as the living room) There were many items sitting around. We just moved while we were there and moved back before leaving. We took many backroads to experience the mountains, streams and nature.

The place is better than the pictures. Very private and so well decorated. My wife said she felt hugged when we walked in the door. The place is simply cozy. We wanted to watch an important ballgame and discovered it was not available! A text to the owner and 20 minutes later the owner had contacted the satellite company and we had a new channel and a new friend! We will go back

GREAT Place For All Kinds of Weather
No matter when you travel, there will always be a great spot on this property to hang out. The design of this cabin was well thought out and is functional for every season. The covered porch with hot tub is perfect rain or shine or even snow! An open porch with a swing is the perfect relaxation spot for warm or cool days and you can enjoy the birds, squirrels and foliage as well as sunsets. Want an outdoor fire? Settle in around the fire pit and enjoy roasting marshmallows and sharing stories. If you are chilly in inclement weather, lounge inside in front of cozy fireplace. You can still take a dip in the hot tub and then head in to a toasty warm living room with the ambeance of a fire. We enjoyed our stay so much here and could easily have lounged around the cabin and never left. In fact we have booked a second stay here next year and will definitely designate days with no adventures and just rest and enjoy the peaceful solace of the cabin. Kudos to the hosts for having plenty of towels, spices and condiments galore and kitchen cooking essentials. This property is a gem as well as the host!

A sweet getaway with beautiful views
We enjoyed our stay and had all we needed to cook for ourselves, kick back and relax for the weekend. If you like to go for walks, be aware that this cabin is located at the top of a mountain so the climb by car or foot is rather steep.

Sandy's instructions on how to get there are spot on and made it much easier and calming. All of the pictures are true to what it advertised. Getaway in the Clouds
We've just returned from a wonderful week at Retreat in the Sky cabin. The drive up the mountain is steep but the view is great from the top. It was a beautiful view of mountain ranges for miles. It was just the peaceful, relaxing getaway we needed and would highly recommend it.

Excellent view. Hot tub was an added bonus.
The cabin was charming with an excellent view. There's nothing you can do about the noisy traffic especially during one of the peak motorcycle seasons.

While it is very disappointing to get a 4 star review, it gives us an opportunity to respond about motorcycle season. Michael’s visit was close to the 4th holiday and the motorcycle riders get to enjoy it too. We are so lucky to be way up on the mountain, so we don’t see them and hardly hear them. We are private and enjoy listening to what we do hear and that’s the birds sing.

Retreat in the Sky
The cabin is true to its name - retreat in the sky. The location has a beautiful view of the mountains (the cabin pictures are accurate). It’s close to the Smoky Mountains, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and a really lovely waterfall park called Deep Creek. The cabin was welcoming and spotless. If you’re looking for a quiet, serene mountain cabin, this is it.

Wonderful Trip!

Amazing home with spectacular views for a birthday get-away!!
Retreat in the sky is such an amazing home. As soon as you walk into this home you are welcomed with all/any of the amenities of being “home”! The views are just amazing! We spent a lot of time sitting on the porches just enjoying the outdoors. This home is a short drive to Bryson City and to Cherokee. Although we enjoyed going into town to shop and to grab lunch/dinner nothing was better then just being at this home relaxing and being with each other! The owners, Sandy and Ty are fantastic and so accommodating (Sandy, I enjoyed talking with you on the phone so much). We loved looking through the photo album under the living room table of how “Retreat in the sky” began. What an incredible journey. We absolutely hated leaving this amazing place but plan on returning in the future!
