This was our third stay and we came back to celebrate our 43rd anniversary but this time we noticed a decline in the upkeep and cleanliness of the property. I talked to the front desk and they came to our room to clean. Seagle’s restaurant serves delicious food. We enjoyed the bar and music and met some nice people there. We hope our next trip will bring the hotel back to the charming place we enjoyed in the past.
I did not do my research very well, so I was surprised about the streetside parking and no elevators - but Olivia was so kind and helpful. She even brought my suitcase up to my room! The hotel itself is this gorgeous piece of history! It was like staying at your grandma's family home!
Great location and great view from the upper porch. If you’re taking the ferry to Cumberland Island, you’ll be right across the street.
There is no dedicated parking. They offer a free breakfast but it wasn’t set up one of our two mornings, no one was at the desk to get ice, there was not even a way to get coffee.
There were 4 of us- 3 adults and a child. We chose a room with 2 beds- they were full size and the room was very small.
We own an old house so we understand the challenges but this hotel was not clean, our bathroom was moldy and in disrepair. For the price per night, it was not a good experience.
Right across the street was where you catch the boat to Cumberland Island. Great food and a bar. Assume decor we sat out on the veranda listening to the music from the bar not to loud and not to soft just right. Ice cream just across the street and some of the friendliest people you will mean
Charming old hotel located in the heart of the downtown, historic district across from a beautiful city park overlooking the water and marsh land. George and Judy were very friendly, personable and helpful and a joy to meet. The hotel offers a bar and restaurant as well. The food was good and the entertainment was lively.
