Wonderful retreat
Wonderful retreat. I enjoyed watching the tide, the birds, and the walk through the adjacent preserve.

Fantastic Maine summer cabin right on the water next to a nature preserve that is an easy hike. The issues listed in previous reviews were fixed- the tv was new, the internet worked fine and able to lock the cabin when we left- the windows all locked. We enjoyed our stay!

Less than satisfactory
The setting was gorgeous. Decent to better eating establishments nearby. However, the house/cabin was only functional, at best. The word “rustic” doesn’t quite cover it. Several doors and windows would not lock. As we were traveling an hour to Acadia Natl Park each day, we did not feel it wise to leave all our bags and accouterments in an unsecured place. So, we wound up packing our bags and belongings back into our vehicle every time we left. The cabin had not been cleaned from the previous TWO rentals. We arrived just after dark to discover bed linens, towels, etc. we’re left on beds unwashed towels were piled used on the floor! We had to wash and dry these before we could use the house. We were worn out, to say the lease. On a positive note, the management was very apologetic and offered to help make amends by sending someone as quickly as possible, but we decided we would rather do the work ourselves so we could go to bed more quickly. As well, the location was lovely. My wife and I had a lovely walk in the adjacent preserve. We saw porcupine and deer. Our stay just started badly and it was hard to recover from our travels each day.

Charming cottage smelly cove
This is nice cottage, right next to Harriman Point, but it has an old tube TV so you can't stream movies or shows. Also, when the tide is out the sea weed smells like a sewer.

Quite a retreat!
Recommended! The view cannot be beat. The water, land, air, and foliage all meeting at this point of the cove where the property is. This is a small cabin, but not tiny. It also has an enclosed porch and a stand-alone utility shed so our suitcases and other large items didn't have to share the living space. It was clean and ready when we arrived. There is no better place to stay to explore Harriman Point than this place, and it is advantageously both close enough and distanced enough from the tourist-heavy Bar Harbor area that you get the best of both worlds -- uncrowded nature when you want it, the Acadia area, and the Bar Harbor scene too. A good grocery store (Tradewinds) is 20 minutes away. A note on the Internet situation: it's not unlimited so TV-junkies, leave your Roku at home -- it's not appropriate for streaming TV & movies. However, it is fast enough for web-surfing and even I could be in a couple of Zoom conference calls -- including one that I had to host -- without any problems. The owner left a hand-written welcome letter which was very charming, and all of their previous welcome letters were there too. 100% would recommend to my friends!

This place is for someone who wants to be on the middle of nowhere.. shower is terrible.
No photos of shower .. not one place that is comfortable to sit down . We left after the first night. And had it booked for 3. Would not even call it “glamping”. Too many beautiful places to stay at a lower cost in Maine . Not for us .

Great, remote cabin on the water
We stayed at this cabin for a week and had an amazing time. The cabin is pretty far off the beaten path -- it is a solid 15 to 20 minute drive to Blue Hill, the closest amenities. However, it is both right on the water and surrounded by forest. It is quiet with great views and accommodated my spouse and I very well for our time there.
