CREATING A MEMORY In the evening have a cup of herbal tea or a glass of wine and watch from one of the decks as the sun sets below the horizon of the truly majestic Pacific Ocean. And if it gets a bit cool just pull out one of the warm-n-cozy freshly washed blankets your hosts provide in a convenient outside bin.
CHECK-IN We'll send check-in information immediately after you book your stay with us, and someone on our team will meet you on arrival to show you where to park.
BEDS Your enchantingly delightful guesthouse studio-apartment has a comfy queen bed, a daybed/sofa & two big overstuffed chairs. Your hosts also provide extra blankets in the suite. It will sleep two adults, or two plus a child, but three adults is a tight fit.
BATHROOM & SHOWER Your private bathroom features a tiled shower. It also has loads of extra towels plus a few travel necessities such as feminine products, toothpaste, dental floss, shaving cream & safety razors. There is even a small sewing kit - which in fact saved a bride's dress one fine day! (Please note: The sink in the kitchenette is used for hand washing and there is a mirror above that sink for shaving.)
ROBES & SLIPPERS When you get up in the morning put on one of the freshly laundered robes with slippers provided by your hosts and relax into your day.
KITCHENETTE In your suite you'll find a small kitchenette located off to one side of the main living area. It features a mini-refrigerator with an ice tray in the freezer section, a toaster and a microwave oven, along with a pour-over coffee making system. A hot plate is available to warm up soup, cook eggs and such - but no aromatic foods please like bacon or fish. That is because the kitchenette does not have an exhaust vent for cooking odors.
COFFE, TEAS & MORE The cupboards are stocked with great coffee and a large selection of top quality teas, plus makings for hot cocoa and hot cereals, and individually sized cold cereals. Some fun snack treats are also provided, along with a few juices, small bottled waters and half-n-half milkette creamers (single serving half-n-half's) for your coffee or tea.
LIVING & DINING AREA Your cozy living area is a small living room with the kitchenette off in one corner. It has a coffee table, a couch and two big, comfortable overstuffed chairs. There are a few books for children of all ages plus some thought-provoking books for adults, such as "The Four Agreements" and "The Power of Now". The coffee table-top easily articulates upward and back toward the chairs to serve as a small dining table.
LIVING AREA The main room room t has a coffee table, two couches and a big, comfortable chair for reading and relaxation. There are a few books there for children of all ages plus some thought-provoking books for adults, such as "The Four Agreements" and "The Power of Now".
OUTDOOR DINING AREAS The unit has a glass-topped dining table just outside the entry that is the perfect size for 2 to 4 people. There are also outdoor dining areas with dramatic ocean views on both of the decks! (See pictures.)
WI-FI There is excellent Wi-Fi but no TV, so plan to relax, read or take your coffee out to sit on one of the decks to enjoy the breathtaking views; from there you can see rocky outcroppings, large sea stacks & sandy beaches all along the coast.
BEACH ACCESS We're located on a cliff directly above the beach with no current access down the side of the cliff to the beach below, but it is just a two minute drive to beach-level parking on North Harris Beach at Harris Beach State Park.
SOUTH HARRIS BEACH South Harris Beach, which is one of the best ocean beaches on the Oregon coast, is even closer; it is just a ten minute walk or a one minute drive to get there. And it almost never has people on it.
LONE RANCH BEACH Lone Ranch Beach with lots of tide pools with starfish and other sea life is a four minute drive north.
HARBOR BEACH The driftwood covered beach at the harbor is just 5 minutes south.
SECRET BEACH Secret Beach is wild and scenic and it's just a quick 10 or 12 minute drive north on US Highway 101.
WHALE WATCHING Resident gray whales can be seen all year but they are more frequently spotted in the summer and fall when they feed closer to shore. We also have thousands more migrating whales along the Oregon coast every year, going south, between mid-December & mid-January and they start returning up the Oregon toward to Alaska every year in between late March and June.
REDWOOD NATURE TRAIL Walking under the canopy of a redwood forest is like being in a natural cathedral. The mile long and quite walkable Redwood Nature Trail is just 9 miles away. And world famous Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park is just 22 miles south on US Highway 101.
WILD RIVERS The Chetco River, with some of the best salmon runs in the world plus a lot of trout and steelhead, runs right through Brookings. And the cold waters of the Smith River, just a few miles south of Brookings, also has plenty of fish, especially salmon and trout.
OCEAN FISHING Thee are well over a dozen ocean charter fishing companies and fishing guides available in the harbor just two miles south of our property.
VIDEOS ABOUT LOCAL ADVENTURES When you book a stay we'll send you a number of videos about local adventures and things to do!

ABOUT YOUR HOSTS – by Barbara
Patrick & I were (and still are!) grateful & amazed at the good fortune that came our way when we acquired two 'diamond in the rough' coastal properties on the Southern Oregon coast that are right next to each other. Both sit on their own cliffside acre overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean.
We did not plan on being vacation rental hosts - it just sort of happened - but we are glad it did because we are always delighted to share these amazing properties with our guests.
I was recently retired from a job in the medical field and Patrick had sold his real estate office when, in March of 2019, we found the coastal property we now live in while we on a road trip through Southern Oregon.
The house that is now our home had been on the market 5 years as part of an estate sale & it needed a lot of work, but we loved it the moment we saw it. **We made the best offer we could afford and our offer was accepted! The separate guesthouse that came with it became our first vacation rental.
Then in 2022 our elderly & very kind next-door neighbor, a widower, decided to move to Portland to be with family. His circa 1950 house also needed a lot of work. We were experienced hosts at that point and we knew the location and layout were absolutely perfect for another vacation rental. **So Patrick worked out a deal with the seller that included some seller-financing and we bought it. Then we put in granite counter tops, tiled showers, redwood decks, heated floors, bigger windows and much more.
Our objective was to create a magical space where people can come to relax in quiet comfort with lots of privacy & stunning ocean views. It worked out perfectly and now we love sharing these magical side-by-side properties with our guests!
Thank you for considering a stay with us while in Brookings. Patrick and I wish you safe travels and an enjoyable visit.
Sincerely, Barbara :)
PS. 1. No one has better coastal views 2. Best price/value - nothing comparable at this price 3. W always treat people the way we would want to be treated ----------------------- ** Patrick wrote a book titled "Real Estate Investment Coach Secrets" for those interested in buying investment property. It is available on Amazon.

This is a beautiful property with jaw dropping views. It is very well equipped. We thought the layout was a bit awkward and the furniture in our unit was too big for the space but those things didn’t detract from our enjoyment of this lovely property.

We were charmed by the way Patrick introduced himself and showed us all the amenities around the place. Such a beautiful property in a truly majestic location. We felt relaxed and comfortable during our stay and appreciate all the little “extras” offered inside the room and around the property.

Property is excellent. It says BandB but the breakfast provided was cereal-no milk. Limited cooking possibilities in the room. We did love our stay there.

We had a very nice stay at this wonderful property. Patrick and Barbara are kind people--both very sweet. The grounds and gardens are pristine and beautiful. Their estate is lovely and the views of the ocean from the decks are truly stunning. We will definitely stay here again when in the Brookings area.

Absolutely beautiful place with a spot to watch the sunset. Hosts are easy to get in touch with. They provided essentials like shampoo/conditioner as well as coffee and snacks. It’s a great location too, close to the redwoods and lots of beaches and trails. Would definitely stay there again!

Perfect spot to stay in Southern Oregon. 45min from Redwoods, 10min from multiple hikes with AMAZING views! The property itself sets on the coastal cliff looking over the Oregon Coast. The sunset views can’t be beat. The hosts were incredible, very welcoming and accommodating!!

This property is beautifully kept and maintained and Barbara and Patrick really go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome and comfortable.
Very thoughtful touches like snacks, coffee, toiletries, and other things that were appreciated on our weekend getaway. The property is very quiet and restful and was perfect for our needs.
The location was great for our needs too. Brookings is a cute small town with amazing beaches and scenery that we loved exploring. We also used it as a base camp to explore the redwoods which are only about 30 minutes away.
We will definitely be back on our next trip to southwestern Oregon!

There are beautiful views looking both north and south along the shore. Also, the gardens on the property are lovely even though our visit was in October.
Michael had suggested a walk along the beach from Harris Beach just .5 miles to the north. That was a pleasant way to appreciate the area and get closer to the surf and stacks.

This was a quiet room to stay in. Good price for what you get! Loved all the snacks, coffee and drinks, bathrobe, books to read and other amenities. There is a deck to view the beach a short walk from your room. Brooking has some nice restaurants and a great bakery. Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park is only a half hour away. Your host, Patrick, is very accommodating and helpful.

The property is beautiful. Gorgeous gardens, stunning views of the Ocean. Patrick was there to show us around the property and let us in our room. The suite was very clean ( cleanest VRBO I’ve ever rented). It was stocked with everything we could want or need, robes, slippers, extra blankets, beach towels, cereal, hot cocoa , coffee. And stocked with things you may have forgotten to bring, toothbrush, floss, razor, sewing kit, etc. There were recommendations for places to eat and visit. Harris beach is a two minute drive away. The redwoods 30 minutes. We spent 5 days and wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back!

This was one of the most attractive locations we’ve stayed, with amazing landscaping and rhododendrons in bloom. It was sparkling clean, the host was friendly and helpful, and anything you might need was provided. Our only issue was that the unit was much smaller than we expected and we felt cramped. Maybe I didn’t read the description carefully enough.

We had a great time.
The hosts provide anything and everything you could possibly want.
The view is amazing, the deck you can use is the best place to have dinner and watch the sunset.
Room was very clean, bed was soft and comfortable.
So cozy we slept 12 straight hours our first night.
Definitely will come back.
Thank you Patrick and Barbara......

The studio was perfect for our quick 2 day trip and the “ small” touches were huge to us.
Extra Kleenex boxes in the room, extra power strip for electronics and USBs, extra towels and soft blankets. ( Lots more. )
Plenty of privacy, and a wonderful private space outside, overlooking the ocean to do my online class.
We would definitely stay again as we enjoyed the space and Patrick and Barbara.
