The dead bolt didn’t work, the only window that opened was the bathroom window which had a huge fly between it and the screen. Could hear people right outside of bathroom window. Old beater van parked right behind our room. Beds were very uncomfortable. Huge sink hole in middle of bed. Floors were dirty. I had to hold the dryer plug in the socket while drying my hair or it would fall out. Did not feel very safe here at all. No coffee pots.

Clean, convenient, not bad!
Retro feel, comfortable, clean. Thin walls. Room next door had TV playing from about 6am on and it might as well have been in our room it was so loud. But overall a good choice

If you need a comfortable place to stay and aren't concerned with a lot of extras, this place is for you. The room was clean and the tub/shower had good water temp and pressure. It's an older establishment, but it's got a kitschy charm. We enjoyed our stay.

Basic, kinda scary
No hairdryer, no outlets, no window coverings on bathroom to hide you from the people hanging out behind the motel. Strangely the bathroom locked from the outside! Hard pillows, bring your own.

This Inn of one story rooms with carport in front of room, is a little gem right off Highway 101 which was a great find! I chose the inn because of its least expensive daily rate. The new owners have created the nicest room I have stayed in along the Northern California 101 to Brookings area. 1) Fresh painted walls with beautiful hues 2) Lovely new laminate flooring throughout 3) Great mattress and white crisp clean comforter covered by clean sheets 4) TV, MICROWAVE, Small Size REFRIGERATOR all new & excellent functionality 5) Rooms must have been originally sound proof because completely quiet/private 6) Nice size closet space with suitcase holder 7) Bathroom sink, toilet, shower nice & new 8) This Inn was a wonderful spot - so glad I made a weeks reservation here - will come again Thanks. The staff was friendly and helpful, asking if I needed anything. I was able to book an extra night easily. I would stay here again. On the downside, there was limited outlets and they did not have a blowdryer so I had to air dry my hair, which wasn't really a problem for me but might be for someone else. Bring your own blowdryer!!

Quaint older inn that has been remodeled. Room was well kept and clean, except for some long clumps of hair in the bathroom that were missed by the cleaning crew. Price is great for what you get and we liked that there was covered parking tat backed up right to our room door. Area felt safe. We couldn’t hear any noises from the rooms next store, but here was some faint sounds of he traffic and people leaving out front in the morning. We loved the proximity to all the hikes and beaches in/around Brookings. We drove a few minutes South into Harbor and ate at a delicious Irish pub!

Incredibly thin walls and hard floors that echo through other rooms. Floors covered in sand when you arrive. No A/C and no windows or fans, only option is leave front door open. Will NEVER be staying here again.

Creative remodel, friendly and clean
They did a good job remodeling the property, with skillful painting and nice touches, like the cute, retro mini-fridge. The bed was small but comfortable and the room was very clean. Staff were super-nice and we felt welcomed. This is a very basic, no frills motel, and the walls are thin. But we like how they clearly made an effort to be creative and fun with the space. I'd suggest making coffee available, and using soap and shampoo dispensers instead of throwaway bottles. These are small concerns, and the price was the best on the coast -- which has become criminally expensive. One motel charges over $540 a night! No excuse for that. These smaller hotels are the way to go, and Pacific Sunset gets an A for effort. A plus for welcoming and friendly people. A plus plus for the chickens. :)

Our stay at the Pacific Sunset Inn was just fair. Overall it was just a locally owned motel that provided a decent night sleep. Front desk girl was friendly and helpful. We needed a place to stay for the night and did t want to pay over $200 for a room just to sleep in. Overall the room was clean but dated. Some painting and upgrades were done but could have used some more. Bed was okay, pretty small Queen but was comfortable. We were on the side of the motel with a construction site beside it. Wasn’t noisy until about 7:00am and pretty quiet at night. I think these are the rooms they reserve for travel booking sites. The quieter rooms were on the other side of the property. ☹️Now my issue with this place was the laminate floor was gross. It had so much sand and grit on it that it covered the bottom of your feet. I ended up using a towel and wet mopped the entire room. I don’t think it had been swept in a long time. Please make sure your house keeping is cleaning the floors when they clean up too. Okay motel for the price. I would stay here again if just using it to sleep. No long stays.

The desk agent was very helpful and friendly. However, this is a large facility that appeared only half full. For some reason they placed us right next to a construction zone that woke us up with jack hammers etc. It is an old facilty with both charm and wear.

Ice machine was broken and seemed to have been for some time. The curtain in the bathroom was moldy/Mildew and didn't look like it had been washed in 10 years. The hot water ran out in minutes. There is a lot of road noise. People with allergies should avoid. The window does not open for fresh air.

Owners were very nice accommodating. I was able to walk to several restaurants. I had forgotten my water bottle there, and when I returned the next day, the owner filled the bottle up with filtered water when he gave it back to me!

We had a great stay. We had some troubles along the way and ended up getting there at 1:30am and we had to wake up the poor front desk guy but he was super nice and let us check in still. It’s a cute little motel, nothing fancy but very clean. You can park right outside of your unit and it’s very close to everything in town. The rooms are very special as well we had a decent size fridge, a microwave and a dining table.

I’ve stayed at many if not most of the lodging here in Brookings. This place has always been a good deal. Family run and good location to many restaurants. Overall good lodging at a fair price. Covered parking is great especially during rainy season.

Front desk clerk was nice, but appearance and demeanor presented very unprofessional. Room was dated and needs updating, paint and front door has big dent/crack as if someone tried to kick it in. Bedding was worn out, but sheets were clean. No extras like coffeemaker/coffee or iron. There is a small fridge and microwave. Office closes early and they tell you to just call if you need anything. There is a constant odor of cigarette smoke as there is a “smoking area” right by the rooms with a chair and a coffee can labeled “butts”.

My major complaint is the office was closed when we arrived at around 1pm! There were 2 phone numbers on the door that one went straight to a voicemail and the other one you had to leave a voicemail. Thankfully there was a cleaning person that had to call the the owner to come check us in so we had a key when we got back from our concert that night.

Booked this room and was pleasantly surprised by the cute retro items! This was the cleanest room in my travels so far!!! Seems like a family run motel. Definitely worth a visit!! They also have a resident cat! She or he greeted us when we were leaving!

It's and older inn and they have made it look pretty good and kept the vintage look. I stay 2 night but not at the same time so the second time the room was not as clean as the first night . The floor was not vacuum so it felt dirty and a dirty floor towel was left hanging on the shower rod.
