My second home and ski base is a luxuriously furnished studio apartment, measuring approximately 28m2, that sleeps four via a double sofa bed and two single bunk beds in an alcove (separated with a curtain), that has been fully fitted with furniture and appliances. The kitchenette is fully equipped with dishwasher, kettle, toaster, microwave and mini oven (big enough to cook Christmas dinner!). I am happy for you to stay in my home but please do not touch any of my personal possessions that are not on show and are clearly for my personal use. I have suffered a burglary recently which is very upsetting and ruined my first ski trip for three years, please respect my property. Towels and linen or not provided but these can be ordered and paid for in advance. Red blankets and pillows are provided for your use. The quilt is my personal property and is not for the use of guests as this cannot be laundered between stays. The full address is:- Les Cybeles 59 Rue Aristide Briande Brides-Les-Bains, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes 73570 FR Please be aware that there is no specific postcode for the actual road or building, the one quoted is for the town. There is a widescreen TV which shows a number of English channels and I have gone through all 700 channels to save these as favourites for your convenience. The TV and digibox need to be switched on and the correct hdmi2 source selected via the TV remote. There is also free WiFi throughout the residence. The property has a balcony with access to a shared garden and has a lovely view of the Vanoise mountain peak. There are half-board dining options at local restaurants and a local bakery comes to reception each morning. Other useful services include a laundry and a ski locker which is accessible with the apartment key. Based in the beautiful town of Brides les Bains, with its river and bridges, it offers easy and quick access to the vast 3 Vallees skiing but is also a lovely place to stay in the summer with the beautiful river, many bridges, park, many picturesque walks and the lakeside Bozel not far away. Slightly further afield is Annecy which is always worth a visit. During the ski season, my contact in France is able to offer the following services:- • Discounted ski passes delivered to the accommodation. • Wine packs delivered • Oven ready meal deliveries from delivered at a time to suit. Options such as a sausage casserole. • Linen, Towels, Cot and high chair rental. • Food shopping deliveries. • Discounts on shared transfer prices. Residence Cybele was originally built to accommodate athletes during the 1992 Winter Olympics and has undergone extensive refurbishment. The residence comprises 132 apartments in a seven story building (with lift), conveniently located just 300m from the centre of town and 600m from the Olympic Gondola to Meribel. There are many bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. There is access to the property, via the night entrance, at all times, so you can arrive as late as you like and you will always get in! Upon arrival in the apartment, you will pick up a fob for access through the main reception door and the exit from the car park. Please note that end of stay cleaning is included in the prices quoted, which is passed in its entirety to a cleaning company. There is a compulsory damage deposit of £150 or 150 euros which may be sent by cheque or left in the apartment if a last minute booking but that is 100% refundable (we can destroy or return your cheque) after the apartment is checked over at the end of your stay. There is a bathroom with WC and shower above the bath. The adjoining kitchenette is equipped with a ceramic hob, a microwave/grill, a dishwasher, a coffee maker, and the necessary crockery, cutlery and utensils. There is also a mini oven that I have purchased for your use. There is a free local bus that goes from just outside the Residence to the Olympic gondola and back in the evening or, otherwise, it's about a 5 minute walk and there are ski lockers in Meribel (at the top of the gondola) if you don't want to do this in ski boots! Staying in Brides les Bains offers you a cost-effective way of skiing the whole of the extensive 3 Vallees area and, on occasion, you can even ski all the way back! Brides-les-Bains offers access to an impressive 600km of slopes for skiers of all abilities and energy levels! The Meribel Valley itself boasts 140km of slopes, as well as two snowparks. Cross-country skiing The Meribel ski area offers 33km of cross-country trails, which are suitable for skiers of all abilities. In Meribel Centre, the "Les Saturins" nursery offers childcare to children aged between 18 months to 3 years and is located in the centre of the Olympic Park, offering both indoor and outdoor activities. The "Les Petits Loups" kindergarten located in Meribel Centre and Meribel Mottaret welcomes slightly older children aged from 3 to 5 years. There are a number of restaurants and pubs in Brides les Bains so you can choose to apres ski within walking distance of your apartment. There are also several shops providing day to day groceries and ski equipment/clothing. Breakfast (croissants etc) can also be purchased in the reception area every morning. .Lift pass prices for skiers staying in Brides-les-Bains include access to the gondola and these can be purchased in-resort or in advance. Bed linen and towels are not included automatically but can be booked and paid for in advance via my cleaning company. There is free, secure, underground parking although with a height restriction of 1.9m. In the summer, this is a great location for hill walking, cycling, tennis (facilities in the town and in nearby Moutiers) and river-rafting. Brides les Bains is a genuine dual season resort so is as busy in summer as in winter. It is known for its spa facilities and, in the summer, local restaurants offer calorie controlled menus! The local water is free and comes highly recommended! Conscientious owner. The apartments offers many features that are conducive to a successful stay. The owner is easily contactable and wants people to enjoy their stay. The apartment is roomy and offers facilities that allow for a homely experience. However, the system for maintainable and cleaning offers opportunities for people to take advantage of the situation as it stands. My daughter and her boyfriend arrived after a difficult journey and found pillows that were badly stained and a quilt that shouldn’t have been used that was also stained. To her credit the owner quickly rectified this problem. From then on my daughter had a good stay, though they would have preferred having a quilt rather than blankets as one of them suffered from asthma and reacted to the blankets. ##### David M. ACCUEIL LAMENTABLE A vrai dire, il n'y en a pas (!) et toutes les portes de l'immeuble étaient closes à 20h. A la lecture des avis des locataires précédents nous avons fait tout notre possible pour arriver vers 20h. Il pleuvait très fort et faisait nuit noire. Le groupe d'immeuble n'est pas éclairé à l'extérieur et nous avons cherché "le main bulding" suivant les indications de la propriétaire. Au hasard, nous nous sommes engouffrés dans un puis un second immeuble, longé tous les couloirs, monté dans les étages... et c'est le dernier qui était le bon ! 1/2h de pérégrination !! SACHEZ QU'IL S'AGIT DU PREMIER IMMEUBLE A DROITE (dans lequel se trouve Intersport) AU SOMMET DE LA RAMPE D'ACCES; - L'immeuble trouvé : toutes les portes étaient verrouillées : un pass était nécessaire pour pénétrer (même pour la porte dite entrée de nuit). Par bonheur, un jeune-homme faisant sa gym dans le vestibule de l'immeuble nous a ouvert. Je n'ose imaginer la situation d'une famille venant de faire 600km et arrivant tard dans la nuit ?? aucun hôtel ouvert, aucune main amie pour lui ouvrir !!! EQUIPEMENT ET PROPRETE Le matériel de cuisine est au minima. Pas de robot broyeur (soupes) ou batteur. Pas de ciseaux (si non de minuscules ciseaux à ongle !), pas de couteaux de cuisine QUI COUPENT, pas de balance de cuisine, pas...bref, 3 fourchettes seulement mais 6 cuillères. 3 verres à eau seulement. Le studio est fait, nous dit-on pour 4 personnes ! - La literie est douteuse (tous les oreillers sont a jeter). VUE On nous annonce une belle vue. Si l'on pense que deux façades qui vous cachent la montagne est ce qu'il y a de mieux : alors, je suis d'accord ! Certes, on peut voir un petit bout de sommet derrière l'une d'entre elle et si l'on se tord le cou vers la gauche, on peut réaliser que l'on est en montagne. - Enfin, il faut savoir que le canapé du salon est en réalité, en position nuit, 2 lits d'une personnes cote à cote et qu'il faut les refaire tous les soir et les défaire tous les matins. Cela fait de l'exercice !! C'est vrai que l'on est à Brides pour cela. Hormis ces remarques le studio est correctement situé. Assez loin (à pied) de la source (800m environ). Mieux vaut de le savoir car beaucoup de curistes ont du mal a marcher. Mes réflexion que je ne voudrai pas agressives devraient, je l'espère améliorer l'accueil des locataire et permettre de faire un peu de propreté dans la literie. Merci d'avance. Only five to 10 mins walk max to the cable lift to meribel. Great having your own parking space as we drove up to meribel and parked there everyday and just jumped in the car with very tired legs at the end of the day and just drove back to the studio. La porte de l’immeuble se situe juste à la gauche du magasin intersport. Mais il faut un badge pour entrée (se trouvant dans la boîte à clef, elle-même à la porte de l’appartement dans l’immeuble). Le relationnel avec Nicky le gérant est très bien. Pour l'hiver, l'emplacement est proche de la remontée mécanique qui donne accès au domaine skiable de Méribel et des 3 vallées en 25 min sans voiture. Possibilité d'acheter du pains ou viennoiserie tous les matins dans la hall de la résidence ! très appréciable ! Nous avons néanmoins regretté l'absence de produits de base tels que torchons de cuisine, papier toilette, sopalin... que nous avons dû acheter sur place alors que nous ne restions que 3 nuits... Pour le prix il nous semble que cela devrait être inclu dans la location. Sur les photos il y a un torchon mais en réalité rien n'est fourni. Question non résolue sur le chauffage... nous n'avons pas eu froid mais si nous avions voulu nous réchauffer un peu plus nous n'aurions pas pu (car le chauffage électrique dans le salon ne fonctionnait pas)... cela n'était pas très clair entre les dires de l'accueil de la résidence et du propriétaire... se renseigner au préalable..
