Oh and there's a waterfall!!!!! We all had a great time playing the grand piano, listening to great jazz records on the turntable while dining at the beautiful table, sitting on the lovely, covered porches and listening to the waterfall, enjoying warm fires by the waterfall, and watching the white squirrels scamper around underneath the bird feeder. She called it magical. One of our cars had very low clearance and couldn't make it over the last hump in the gravel driveway but the owner helped us make other arrangements for parking. Truly the most beautiful property we have stayed at yet over the years. We have already discussed booking for two more occasions in the future. The pics on the Vrbo site are good, but nothing compares to seeing and listening to this gorgeous NOT SMALL waterfall in person, sitting with family and friends on the mossy banks and lawn while we talked and played games. If you play piano, you will also enjoy filling the home with the sounds of the music. Loved how big the stainless steel covered island was in the kitchen. Every day we found ourselves standing around the island, with plenty of room for the majority of the group, and making sandwiches and filling our plates buffet style at the island. The hot tub got used every day as well, so don’t forget your bathing suits. What a treat, and one night the Perseid's meteor shower was happening so we sat in the adirondacks chairs and in the hot tub and watched the celestial show. Wow! How beautiful! We had one family stay downstairs and the other upstairs. Plenty of room with washer/dryers on both floors. The private creek in the back yard is probably the most amazing part of this house along with the sound of the water flowing. There is an open grassy hill on the other Side of the driveway where the kids would chase fireflies at night. The property is out of this world gorgeous. The only issue we had was with the hot tub not working and when we called to have it fixed the manager had her son check on it but the hot tub still did not work and the issue was not resolved. So we never got to enjoy the hot tub, which for a December booking, is pretty bad. Otherwise this is a 5 star rental. This property is truly amazing in every way. Let's start with the kitchen. It is stocked better than you would stock your own. There is every type of glassware (wine, water, juice, champagne, mugs, cordials) and in quantity. The dishes were new and in perfect repair and, again, in quantity. Stacks of dinner,salad and bread plates, pasta bowls, dessert plates, platters, tea service - you name it. There was every kind of small appliance you might use and all immaculate. An enormous island in the middle gave us all the room we needed to put our stuff as we unpacked and later served us well for prepping and cooking, not to mention bartending and cleanup. There are two sets of brand new silverware and numerous serving & cooking utensils, including knives of all types. The site. The pictures do NOT do this property justice. The waterfall babbles continuously and the stream actually runs the length of the view. A thick brilliant moss carpets the walkway to the end of it and there is a beautiful landscape job throughout - very organic and natural - with a gnarled twig archway, obviously handmade. Though it was cold during our stay we went out many times because we wanted to walk around the place. The bedrooms and bathrooms - mattresses were very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. Linens were clean and even the smallest bedroom was comfortable with French doors. Bathrooms were stocked with more towels than could be used and our bathroom had an incredible shower with a rain head and side jets as well. Master suite was generous in size and bathroom was, too. Before I use up all of my space I must include this important part. This does NOT feel like a rental house. The furnishings and decor are truly more like being in a higher end property of one's own. The owner even left us a Christmas tree & decorations to put up if we wanted to. So often rentals are filled with castoff furniture and artwork that no one wants in their own house. In other words, cheap. This place has higher quality pieces of furniture and original, interesting artwork to look at. Nice touches such as blankets rolled up and placed all over and even a baby grand piano just make you feel like you are NOT in a rental. Giant mirrors, good TV's, bookcases filled with interesting reads and a downstairs with microwave and mini fridge make me wish I could go back right now. This worked out well for our group of 3 generations of family members from 3 states (all adults). The kitchen was more fully equipped than any we've ever rented and allowed us to cook Thanksgiving dinner as if we were at our own house. Multiple seating areas in the house, on the decks and by the creek and waterfall allowed small groups of people to chat. The location is private yet only about 15 minutes to either Brevard (for shopping and restaurants) or DuPont State Forest (for hiking and big waterfalls). Our 5-day stay was idyllic! ##### Laura N. It was as big as I had hoped, not just a trickle. And the area down by the waterfall was great too. There were many chairs, so you could sit by the water and listen/watch. The house itself is nice too. There was nothing we wanted that we couldn't find. The kitchen is very large and has tons of utensils. There were only 4 of us, and we liked having 2 floors, each with a king bed in one room. My sister and her husband stayed downstairs and could enjoy the den down there if they didn't feel like hanging out all together in the upstairs den. My husband and I used the upstairs king room with ensuite, and it was very comfortable. One thing to note: there is a skylight in the room that can't be covered and lets in a good bit of light from the outside landscaping. The porches were much appreciated, as we could sit outside and listen to the waterfall and not get wet if it rained. We also loved the hot tub. It was huge! I loved the bird feeders too. I made more nectar for the hummingbird feeder in the front of the house and added a suet cake to the regular feeder in the back of the house. It attracted a bunch of carolina chicadees, tufted titmice, and a couple of cardinals and a hairy woodpecker. There was also a chipmunk on the hot tub side of the house that came to visit every once in a while. I noticed when I booked the property that the fees were higher than most I have ever booked or stayed in, but I decided to book it anyway because of the waterfall. I was surprised, though, when we noticed that even though the fees are high, and there's a separate cleaning fee, we were asked to strip the beds, put the sheets and towels in the wash and to empty the trash. I don't mind doing that, but the fees were higher than places where I had daily housekeeping and didn't need to do any of that. Just a data point to consider. We forgot our pillows when we left, and the property manager was great at getting them retrieved and sent to us. That was much appreciated. You'll surely enjoy your stay in Transylvania County, the land of waterfalls. There's even a really cool waterfall (Conestee Falls) right at the end of the road up to the house. You only have to walk maybe 100 yard on mostly even ground to get there. MANY other waterfalls are nearby or not too far. We went to Dupont Forest for several and toward Highlands and Cashiers for others. Went to sliding rock too. Enjoy! ##### Michelle S. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. House was larger than I expected. Pictures do not do justice to the backyard and waterfall - it was magical.
