Vacay a few days
This is an exceptionally well maintained property-- clean, well appointed, quiet. It is about a 12 minute drive from the college town of Brevard with small shops , galleries , and restaurants; and close enough to outdoor recreational activities. We are book readers and music people so we didn't explore whatever media offerings are available at the cabin. Rain or shine you can sit on the porch around the cabin.

Lucky Us!
We wanted a base of operation for viewing fall colors and fly fishing. We didn't realize the hills in front of and behind the cabin would be so spectacular in the fall. The property is beautiful with the small pond, stream, and landscaping. The cabin is clean and comfortable and the gas log heater in the living room is really nice on cool mornings. Only a short drive to several rivers with excellent fly fishing. And the roads to the rivers provided all the fall color anyone could want. Thank you, Ilse, for sharing your lovely place.

Great Stay at Falling River Farm
If you are looking for a quaint , quiet and safe place in beautiful Transylvania County , this may be the place ! This is our 2nd stay here to visit waterfalls , nature and vineyards and we were not disappointed .

Beautiful and Convenient
The cabin we stayed in was gorgeous, very well decorated. We were in the country but only 10 miles from downtown Brevard. A couple of things we weren't thrilled about were the uncomfortable couch and chair in the living area and would have greatly appreciated tv's in the bedrooms. My friend and I had a great deal of difficulty trying to operate the tv as we are both accustomed to cable tv. The bathtub in the loft was difficult for me to step out of and I'm 5'8". The entrance gate was electronic and I had trouble making it work correctly on several occasions. On the positive side, the cabin had everything we needed -- coffee pot with pods, toiletries, hair dryer, etc. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were great!!! The entire property was clean and green -- gorgeous. We enjoyed the falls, the creek, the pond, and watching the horse and being greeted by the very sweet kitty, Tommy. Overall, we had a nice time.

Owner was great, had homemade cookies on arrival, stay was great only 2 complaints, if your using the loft hope your under 5'8'' otherwise you will bump your head alot, also if people do use the loft and you are using the masterbed room, the noise is way to much you can hear every footstep like they are on top of you, hard to sleep, overall the stay was great.

Family Time
My family and I were looking for a place that was both secluded yet close in proximity to the places we wanted to visit and the trails we wanted to hike-a home base kind of place. So we booked this stay based off of others reviews and we were not disappointed! The cabin was a beautiful handcrafted log home with all the amenities listed, very clean and fresh. The property in it's entirety was refreshing and beautiful. "Tater" the dog and "Tommy" the cat were our daily greeters in our coming and going. It's centrally located to Southwestern North Carolina and Northwestern South Carolina Parks and Trails. Lake Toxiway, Cashiers, Rosman & Brevard are close by.The property owner Isle extended great hospitality. We loved our stay and would highly recommend this property.

Absolutely beautiful!
The property was very pretty and well maintained. The cabin was absolutely gorgeous inside and very clean when we arrived. The owner, Ilse, was friendly and helpful while we stayed there, and she was responsive when we had questions. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting her 190 lb Brazilian Mastiff named Tater (he's a very sweet and gentle giant), as well as Tommy the cat, who was the friendliest feline and best lap warmer I've ever had the pleasure of meeting! If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful, quiet, and relaxing place to stay while you're in the Brevard area, this is the best place to be. We cannot recommend this property enough!!!

Unusual Beauty
Unusual experience! Very refreshing place to spend a few days....could have stayed longer....much longer :). From the time you drive through the gate you know you may change plans and never leave the property. My husband and I were in need of a warm fire and to be surrounded by nature. It was perfect! The king size bed was wonderful and very comfy ( which is what we find at other places folks NEGLECT!). Slept VERY well. Beautiful view of the pond/stream/falls from master. All we needed was provided. Cherry on top were the resident pets, Tater (pup) and Tommy (cat). They brought a sweet surprise. Tater was happy to lead us around the property on morning strolls. His antics made us laugh and Tommy was so sweet. You know the property was crafted with love and creativity. ❤️

Saty at the cabin
Third time we return to Ilse cabin and it's always a good stay. The cabin is always clean. When you arrive fresh cookies are waiting for you, and you are greeted by Tater and Tommy, the dog and cat who are in the yard. The property is beautiful and the neighborhood is really quiet. Perfect place to disconnect
Cabin is beautiful and clean. Very quiet place for us to disconnect from our busy lives at work and parenting. Ilse the owner brought warm homemade cookies down one afternoon and the Resident Mastiff, Tater was an absolute sweetheart! My husband enjoyed sitting on porch every morning with Tater next to him just watching the world go by!

The cabin and it's location on this farm are so nice. The cabin is clean and nicely decorated. Ilsa is so personable and is readily available to answer questions. Her attention to detail is evident. She cares about this beautiful farm and each person who stays at the cabin. We had a wonderful, relaxing time and enjoyed our stay, especially interacting with farm pets Tater and Tommy!

Peaceful Getaway
This property is even more beautiful in person than in pictures. The cabin is completely surrounded by gorgeous old-wood trees, next to a lovely babbling brook, and a charming waterfall. All this within an easy drive of downtown Brevard and all the necessities. The internet and satellite TV worked flawlessly. The kitchen is well-stocked. The king-size bed in the spacious downstairs bedroom was heavenly (although I had to use the provided step stool to get into it). There was nothing lacking to make our week restful and restorative. I highly recommend Ilsa's beautiful cabin for your next retreat.

We loved our long weekend at this lovely spot. The setting couldn't have been more peaceful and pretty. It was close to Brevard and many wonderful hiking spots and water falls. Ilse left great info to get to the falls and was very friendly and responsive to our needs. We would definitely go back.

Most relaxing and beautiful vacation
My best friend and I enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing stay. Ilsa, our host, thought of every little detail to make sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. She provided a detailed instructions/guide, complete with sheets you could take with you for suggestions on nearby grocery stores and hiking. We tried one of her hiking suggestions and saw 2 beautiful waterfalls. We even enjoyed a picnic lunch by the water. Her kitchen in the cabin was well stocked and she even provided a very nice and clean grill, which we definitely took use of… I can’t say enough nice things about this cabin rental. This was the most heartwarming place to stay. We immediately felt welcomed and was greeted by Tater the dog who we fell in love with. Everything was perfect and Ilse was the best host. She even brought welcome goodies. We will be staying at this property again in the future. Also any possible question you could have is answered in a book she had created from how to turn on heat and air to where to go for dinner and sites. I cant speak highly enough about the property and Ilse.

Couldn’t be more perfect!
We’ve stayed at many cabins over the years and this is one of our favorites. Incredibly clean, beautiful, tranquil location…. Kind & gracious hostess and her assistant ‘Tater’, perfect location, and small luxuries throughout the cabin that will make you feel extra special. Trust me, this is a good one!

Too short a stay!
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful spot! Ilse, Tater, Tommy and the horses were warm and welcoming! The cabin is beautiful! Returning from our hikes, we enjoyed relaxing on the deck, listening to the stream and waterfall. We also enjoyed exploring the farm and the stables. Thanks so much, Ilse! Hope to return!

Home base for waterfall tour
We used Ilse's cabin as a home base for driving the Blue Ridge Parkway and visiting waterfalls on Hwy 215 and 276. The location of the cabin is well suited for this. The cabin was very comfortable and attractive and had all that we needed. Ilse provided a notebook of useful information re restaurants, grocery stores, waterfalls and more that we put to good purpose. My co-travelers loved the quality of the towels and one fell in love with her king mattress. We also loved the waterfall off the porch, Tater the massive dog, and the serene environment of the cabin. The lacy chocolate chip cookies left for our arrival was among my favorite things. I hope to find a recipe!

Wonderful Getaway Spot
We loved our stay at this cabin. It was clean and spacious and perfect for an anniversary getaway. The location was great for driving in to Brevard for dinner (about 15 minutes) and for driving up to the Blue Ridge Parkway (about 30 minutes via hwy 215). Although the cabin is near a road, it was very quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again if we decide to travel to the area in the future.

This is our second stay with Ilse (and Tater!) and we enjoyed it thoroughly again. Her property is close to many nice hiking trails and waterfalls. We went into Brevard for dinner and ice cream. Spacious enough for two couples. My wife and I have decided to make this an annual trip.

Beautiful cabin in a great location.
This property is wonderful. It looks just like the pictures. The location is right in the middle of the waterfalls capital of North Carolina and 20 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lots of trails and places to eat. The cabin was immaculate. The Hostess friendly and very helpful. This is mountain living!

Just What We Needed
Beautiful cabin & property, tastefully appointed, clean and organized, warm and welcoming! The owner was very thoughtful and friendly, and she gave us information (and also directions) covering everything from hiking to shopping! We will be going back for another visit for sure!

Thank you Ilse for providing a safe, beautiful, peaceful setting for our waterfall hunt, many close by. The cabin was perfect and has everything you need. Beautiful views out to the pasture, creek and small waterfall which you can see and hear from the cabin. Feed the ducks, take a walk with the friendliest dog and cat Tater and Tommy. We so enjoyed their company and will never forget them. We went to visit Cafe, the horse who is so handsome. Overall fantastic 3-day stay. Highly recommend by us. Helen and Heather

Better than advertised
An absolute gem of a property. Extraordinarily clean and well equipped. A fifteen minute drive from Brevard but a world away from everything. My wife and I drove down from Asheville in order to do some hiking and met Elsa, the hostess, Tater, the 170 pound dog and Tommie, the cat. The cottage is on a small estate, inside a private gate and away from the mundane. The location is definitely pristine, the stars at night are unbelievable. Yet, it,s close to many outdoor activities. You will not regret spending a few days or a few weeks here.
